The Province's Ben Kuzma says it's not a big surprise to him that the Canucks are likely parting ways with Brendan Gaunce. Ben says if there's a knock against Gaunce, he didn't use his body enough when Travis Green got him to transition to left wing in the AHL. Ben adds Gaunce will get a fresh start, which is likely what he needs.

Pro hockey brothers Cameron and Brendan Gaunce join the show. In 2008 Cameron was a 2nd round pick by Colorado, four years later his younger bro Brendan gets drafted in the 1st round by Vancouver. To date the brothers have played over 800 NHL & AHL games combined. The boys reveal the trials and tribulations of growing up chasing the same NHL dream and how it almost went in a different direction. They share hilarious stories from the 1st time they played against each other in a 2014 AHL matchup, how Connor Mcdavid indirectly upped the value of Cameron's home and a laugh out loud tale from inside the Penguins locker room. We also hold a contest at shows end to determine who the better brother is. Finally, we take a call from KingGrandini who claims one of the brothers damaged his voice box in minor hockey. 

TSN game analyst Ray Ferraro says when you get called up you have a lot of energy and adrenaline. Ferraro feels Gaunce took advantage of the opportunities of the injuries on the Canucks.

Ray Ferraro says Elias Pettersson will get worn out over the course of his rookie season, but also says Pettersson is very ready to play in the NHL. Ray also discusses Brendan Gaunce returning to the AHL, and isn't a fan of Carolina wearing Whalers gear

Canucks forward Brendan Gaunce says it's reassuring to sign a two-year deal with the Canucks, and is looking forward to extra competition at camp. Brendan laughingly says it was a fluke to not score a goal last year, and admits he wants to add more offense. Brendan is excited to play for Travis Green again, suggesting Green is very good at developing players and holds both players and coaches accountable

Farhan Lalji says Luca Sbisa would help Vegas get to the cap floor, but those kind of players are readily available, while a bottom-six forward like Brendan Gaunce is also relatively easy to find. But Farhan suggests losing Sbisa would force the Canucks to use younger dmen, like Subban or Pedan

Pro Hockey Talk’s Mike Halford suggests the Canucks should be willing to give up a mid-round pick in order to keep Brendan Gaunce in Vancouver, just in case Gaunce is able to expand his role down the road.

Ray Ferraro has a tough time getting his head around protecting Brendan Gaunce, saying you simply can't protect a player with no goals given how important scoring is to the Canucks.

Matt Larkin suggests the Canucks will expose Brandon Sutter in the expansion draft; Vegas would have interest in Sutter’s skills, and also say he saw some good stuff from Brendan Gaunce, who should be protected instead. Matt also suggests Vegas may have interest in what Sutter can offer. Matt says the Canucks should look to trade Chris Tanev, and get whatever value they can from him
