Glasbo Gabriela Fauréja smo poslušali na koncertu, ki je avgusta potekal v okviru festivala Imago Sloveniae, posvečen pa je bil 100. obletnici smrti tega francoskega skladatelja, organista, pianista in učitelja. Maturity - Chapter 2 - Jon Pouliot by CBCNashville
As we round out our study of the 2nd London Baptist Confession in the next two weeks, we turn our attention to the last things. This week we will discuss Chapter 31, The State of Humanity after Death and the Resurrection of the Dead. End times discussions are often controversial; however, the confession focuses on what happens to individuals and is silent on the specific sequence of events. We will discuss this intermediate state as well as heaven and hell and the implications for those who are Christians versus those who are not.
Join us this Sunday as we study Chapter 30 of the 1689 London Baptist Confession where we will be exploring the second ordinance, the Lord's Supper. We will look at what the Lord's Supper is, some historical debates that formed the confession's understanding, and how we are to rightly observe it in church today.
This week we continue our study of the 2nd London Baptist Confession with Chapter 24 on the Civil Magistrate (Government). Some may wonder why all of the historic protestant confessions commented on civil government. We will discuss this in its historical context. We will also explore God's sovereignty in relation to civil government, the Christian's role and submission to the civil government, and how this is lived out in our time.

This week we will continue our study of the 1689 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith with a look at Chapter 22 - Religious Worship and the Sabbath Day. We will spend time thinking about worship with a focus on personal and corporate settings. We will also discuss the Sabbath and different views on observing it.
The concept of biodiversity is often thought to be flora and fauna - but there's another 'F' word... fungi, which comprises a third forgotten kingdom.
Vintage Faith - Chapter 21 - Jon Pouliot by CBCNashville
This week we are continuing our study of the Second London Baptist Confession in Chapter 19 - The Law of God. We will spend time looking at the historic uses of the law and how Christians can use it today.
As we continue in our study of the 2nd London Baptist Confession of Faith, we come to Chapter 15 - Repentance to Life and Salvation. We will focus on the idea of repentance, both the initial repentance to life that comes with saving faith and the ongoing repentance that is a mark of a true follower of Christ.

This week we will continue our study of regeneration by exploring the regeneration of infants, children and those with limited abilities. While this is a difficult subject and one with few clear biblical references, we trust in God's goodness and lean into the mystery of His ways.
The Dallas Stars lost in a shootout Monday afternoon, but outplayed one of the best teams in the NHL while shorthanded. The Stars were without Miro Heiskanen, Matt Duchene, Jani Hakanpaa and Nils Lundkvist against the Bruins. Joey explains, despite the loss, how the version we saw of the Stars in this game was one that can win the Stanley Cup. They played with an edge, were physical and rose to the challenge in a game they really should have no business being in. Thomas Harley stepped up and played over 29 minutes, Ryan Suter pitched in a goal and forced the Bruins to score a 6 on 5 goal late to send it to overtime. Bruins won the game in a shootout that went 9 rounds. Injuries are starting to pile up in an already thin defensive group. Derrick Pouliot and Alexander Petrovic were recalled from the Texas Stars to fill in for Heiskanen and Hakanpaa. Pouliot and Petrovic have over 200 games of experience in the NHL and played really well for just jumping into the fire. This is a time for the Stars to flex the depth they have and pick up points along the way. The final segment we take a look at the adversity the Stars are dealing with this season and how that can be used moving forward. A team that has been very healthy the past few seasons is running into some bumps. How it effects the trade deadline and leverage for the Stars who are down two right handed defensemen.Follow Joey on Twitter: twitter.com/joeythejet19Follow & Subscribe on all Podcast platforms…

This week we will begin our adult class on regeneration. When we think about our salvation, God is doing two main things. Justification, where God declares us not guilty of our sin because of Christ, and regeneration, or the new birth, where God changes us from the inside out allowing for spiritual growth and sanctification. The purpose of this class will be to focus on regeneration and what it means for us. Our focus will be on laying the groundwork for the class and pondering why we need this new birth.

This week we will resume our class on a Healthy Church Member by looking at what it means to be a growing disciple. It is important to look at what true Christian growth is not and where we can go wrong with our motivations and beliefs about growth. When we think about growth in the Christian life, we are really talking about sanctification or growth more and more into Christ-likeness. While our growth is a work of the Holy Spirit, it is aided by participation in the local church and strengthens both the Christian and the local church they are a part of.

What does it mean to be a committed church member? Before we can answer that question, we need to see what Scripture says about church membership in the first place. This week we will focus on the biblical argument for church membership and what it means to be an active and committed member of a local church. We will then look at some practical applications of what this commitment looks like.

Advent 2022 - interview with the Pouliots
In episode 196 of the Glass and Out Podcast, we're joined by Brad Yetman, Head Coach of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey. At just 31-years-old, Yetman is one of hockey's up and coming coaching talents. He is currently in the midst of his fourth season with the Huskies. In 2019, he was hired as an Assistant Coach on Mario Pouliot's staff. Late in his third season, he took over the reigns as Interim Head Coach after Pouliot stepped away from the team due to health issues. He was ultimately handed the role full time, despite barely two years of experience coaching at the Major Junior level. It's also worth noting that Yetman is the first New Foundlander to be a Head Coach at the Major Junior level. Prior to joining the Huskies, Brad was the Head Coach of the East Coast Blizzards program, in the Newfoundland U18 Major Hockey League. During this time he also scouted for the Shawinigan Cataracts, the team that originally drafted him in the Q. As a player, he spent four seasons in junior hockey, but had to retire early due to concussions. He then shifted his focus away from playing hockey to his education, as he earned a Masters in Education and Counseling Psychology Listen as he shares his experiences as one of the youngest coaches in Major Junior Hockey, the value of grading player performance in practice, and why players will only be vulnerable if they recognize their coach is willing to be vulnerable as well.
This week we will be exploring the concept of the perspicuity or clarity of Scripture. Scripture testifies to its own clarity but not all of Scripture is equally clear. We will spend time talking through the idea that the essential truths necessary for salvation are clear and understandable to all who seek them, but there are parts of Scripture that are less clear. We will discuss some aids we have to better understand Scripture and we will distinguish between intellectual knowledge and saving knowledge.
This week we will be exploring the idea that Scripture is inspired. What does it mean for the Bible to be inspired? More specifically, we will discuss the concept of verbal, plenary inspiration and how this concept impacts how we approach Scripture. We will then look at the purpose and function of Scripture and the belief that it is self-authenticating. Our goal this week will be to help us build confidence in the fact that the Bible is actually 'breathed out by God' (2 Timothy 3:16).
