Authors, Meredith Gaunce & Melanie Bowman captured that essence on the pages of their travel book, Traveling St Pete: A Girls Guide. Having done a similar guide for Savannah, Georgia, Meredith was approached by Melanie to create one for the city they had both fallen in love with after moving to St Pete. Add in a pandemic, and it was the perfect time to show our small businesses some extra love. Whether you are planning a girls weekend getaway or a staycation, you can easily craft the perfect outing with a little help from their guide! The Athletic put out a very good article on Bowen Byram and how he has turned his season around. That's great, but I noticed some concerning things about his attitude towards the game that was alarming to me. A look at Joe Sakic and his NHL 100 video. The fans award the Avalanche Lady Byng Trophy. And a new segment where we celebrate an Avalanche player's birthday, past or present, and today we celebrate Cameron Gaunce! Syracuse Crunch defenseman Cameron Gaunce joins broadcaster Lukas Favale for the Shootout Show following a 4-2 loss against the Laval Rocket Nov. 29, 2019.
In this episode, Alex discusses the odd case of the Syracuse Crunch, a team that can seem incredibly discombobulated and, dare we say it, almost mad at each other one game and then much more coherent and confident the next. Inconsistencies abound, but a few players are managing to make extreamly positive impressions despite that, including defenseman Cameron Gaunce. Alex names Gaunce her Player of the Month and speaks to the great season he’s having so far. She also gives a general view of the North Division and where the Crunch is currently slotting in.
Being given an ultimatum at your job can be very hard to cope with, especially if you are unsure of what to do next. In this episode, Brandon Gaunce, the owner of TexasHousebuyer.Net, shares the irony of how he came up with a system that saved his former employer millions of dollars but basically eliminated him and other positions clear across the country. Don’t miss this episode to learn how Brandon jumped with both feet into the fire and got back up with the help of real estate.
Syracuse Crunch defenseman Cameron Gaunce joins Lukas Favale on Episode 4 of Crunch Time. He discusses his return for a second season in the organization, his summer plans and how his leadership manifests itself in the Crunch locker room.
Matt's back from Japan, Adam is off living the life of a pirate, while Chris & Anna are just living their best lives in Vancouver. The team starts off by sharing their fondest memories of Jason Botchford, who passed away suddenly just a week ago. They also discuss the NHL Conference Finals, a few moves by the Canucks, with the odd spicy bit about Avengers Endgame mixed in [SPOILER ALERT].
The boys wave buh-bye to Pouliot and Gaunce and wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Talk about how poor Loui Eriksson feels. Coach Green and him are not on the same page. Poor poor Loui he was never given any chances. The boys also pose a question on who the Canucks should spend more money on this offseason a D-man or Forward. Also: - Reffing in the playoffs is squirrely. - Is there any team left to cheer for? - Is Binnington more deserving of a Calder now? - Superstitions in sports. Art Aronson loves a McD's run. @Artaronson @Kirbman23 BetweentheStammers@gmail.com
The Province's Ben Kuzma says it's not a big surprise to him that the Canucks are likely parting ways with Brendan Gaunce. Ben says if there's a knock against Gaunce, he didn't use his body enough when Travis Green got him to transition to left wing in the AHL. Ben adds Gaunce will get a fresh start, which is likely what he needs.

Pro hockey brothers Cameron and Brendan Gaunce join the show. In 2008 Cameron was a 2nd round pick by Colorado, four years later his younger bro Brendan gets drafted in the 1st round by Vancouver. To date the brothers have played over 800 NHL & AHL games combined. The boys reveal the trials and tribulations of growing up chasing the same NHL dream and how it almost went in a different direction. They share hilarious stories from the 1st time they played against each other in a 2014 AHL matchup, how Connor Mcdavid indirectly upped the value of Cameron's home and a laugh out loud tale from inside the Penguins locker room. We also hold a contest at shows end to determine who the better brother is. Finally, we take a call from KingGrandini who claims one of the brothers damaged his voice box in minor hockey.
TSN game analyst Ray Ferraro says when you get called up you have a lot of energy and adrenaline. Ferraro feels Gaunce took advantage of the opportunities of the injuries on the Canucks.

Janie Gaunce started Grapevine Designs, one of the original, agency-minded distributorships, back in 2000. Since then, Grapevine Designs has been honoured as a “Best Places to Work” company by the Kansas City Business Journal and they consistently rank as one of the top “Women-Owned Businesses in KC,” and have garnered numerous other industry awards.
Brandon Gaunce was notified in November of 2013 that his corporate job position was being eliminated and his options included relocating within the US or taking a demotion to stay in his hometown and face a 2 hour one way commute to and from work daily and he needed to decide by May of 2014. During that time, he met Mitch Stephen who expressed with empathy that there could be another option if he was willing to be a good student and put in lots and lots of effort! Brandon chose this option and became a student of Mitch’s while taking on a part time job to help ease the transition. 2014 was a tough year, but Brandon and his family made it through successfully by doing just 3 deals and now, a short 3 years later, Brandon has carved out his own little niche in real estate. Coupled with Mitch’s Owner Finance Model, Brandon is averaging 40-50 property acquisitions per year and has an annual income 4 times that of his previous corporate job and a net worth of close to 1 million dollars. He is forever grateful that God put Mitch in his life and doesn’t know where he would be today otherwise! What you’ll learn about in this episode: Brandon’s story and how he made his career with his back up against the wall Lowering your overhead with the Moat Theory How to track down potential sellers of vacant properties Staying patient when business is slow Achieving success using private money lenders Creative strategies for buying and flipping properties with other people’s money What Brandon’s first 4 years in real estate investing have been like What to do when a deal falls through Eliminating your fear of failure Resources: REInvestorSummit.com/Sly (In the how did you hear about us section, select other and input code “VMdrop”) REInvestorSummit.com/Grow REInvestorSummit.com/coaching REInvestorSummit.com/100 REInvestorSummit.com/101
Travis Green discusses Thursday's Canucks game vs Buffalo, what Bo Horvat brings to the lineup, and what Derrick Pouliot and Brendan Gaunce need to do to get back into the lineup
Ben Kuzma of the Province Sports says the line of Virtanen, Gaunce, and Dowd showed well in a loss in San Jose, particularly Virtanen
Ray Ferraro says Brendan Gaunce should consider himself fortunate to have an NHL contract after a no-goal season. Ray says Gaunce must show something offensively, or he risks being replace by someone who can
Canucks forward Brendan Gaunce says it's reassuring to sign a two-year deal with the Canucks, and is looking forward to extra competition at camp. Brendan laughingly says it was a fluke to not score a goal last year, and admits he wants to add more offense. Brendan is excited to play for Travis Green again, suggesting Green is very good at developing players and holds both players and coaches accountable
Pro Hockey Talk’s Mike Halford suggests the Canucks should be willing to give up a mid-round pick in order to keep Brendan Gaunce in Vancouver, just in case Gaunce is able to expand his role down the road.
Ray Ferraro has a tough time getting his head around protecting Brendan Gaunce, saying you simply can't protect a player with no goals given how important scoring is to the Canucks.
Matt Larkin suggests the Canucks will expose Brandon Sutter in the expansion draft; Vegas would have interest in Sutter’s skills, and also say he saw some good stuff from Brendan Gaunce, who should be protected instead. Matt also suggests Vegas may have interest in what Sutter can offer. Matt says the Canucks should look to trade Chris Tanev, and get whatever value they can from him
