The Stars look like a complete team, with deadline pickups Granlund, Ceci (and Rantanen, of course) making big impacts as they took a 3-1 series lead over Winnipeg, who have now lost 9 straight road playoff games. Edmonton will try to close out Vegas on Wednesday. They have a 3 games to 1 advantage after a dominant shutout win on Monday, with Stu Skinner stepping up and the Oilers continuing their trend of peaking in games 4-7 of playoff series. Florida vs. Toronto might look like a coin flip on paper, but Game 5 feels like a must-win for the Leafs. Marner and Matthews need to step up offensively, and Craig Berube might consider a Morgan Rielly return to the PP unit. Ken Holland is set to become GM of the LA Kings, opting to stay involved and in the West. Rick Tocchet is a hot coaching name, Seattle and Boston have interest, but Philly seems the most likely fit. Meanwhile, Vancouver is zeroing in on their next coach, with Manny Malhotra, Adam Foote, and Washington assistant Mitch Love in the mix.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

It will be easier than ever for parents to opt their children out of public school vaccine requirements under a bill given initial passage in the Texas House late Tuesday. In other news, School leaders and advocates worry that the Texas Senate is dragging its feet to deliver on promises to provide the largest infusion of state dollars into public education; after multiple break-ins and animal thefts at Texas zoos in recent years, state zoos have teamed up with advocacy groups and elected officials to support a couple of bills in the Texas Legislature that could provide some relief. House Bill 1720 and Senate Bill 2969 will strengthen the penalties for trespassing at zoological facilities and create penalties surrounding habitat intrusions; and the Dallas Stars are on the verge of eliminating the Winnipeg Jets in the Stanley Cup playoffs after a 3-1 win at the American Airlines Center last night. The third member of the Stars' Finnish line, Mikeal Granlund scored a hat trick. It was the third hat trick in the last five games for Dallas but Granlund's first since 2017. The series heads back to Winnipeg for game 5 on Thursday night. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Voiko perinteinen insinööritoimisto rakentaa menestyksekkään ohjelmistoliiketoiminnan? Granlundin tapauksessa vastaus on kyllä.

The two of them kicked things off by talking about the first of three big trades from the weekend: the JT Miller trade. It felt inevitable that Miller would end up back in New York and finally after weeks of rumours, the Canucks pulled the trigger on the deal. They got back a decent return that included a first-round pick, which their front office promptly flipped to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Marcus Pettersson and forward Drew O'Connor. The guys broke down how Miller has looked back in a Rangers jersey and also the Canucks decision to add Pettersson. They also talked about Elias Pettersson's future in Vancouver and whether or not the Canucks are set on keeping him, or if they could have another big trade up their sleeves. The Canucks weren't the only team who made a big splash this weekend either. The Dallas Stars acquired Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a package of draft picks. This week on the San Jose Hockey Now Podcast we cover a winless opening of the San Jose Sharks 2024-2025 season, and a surprise Mike Grier press conference. What does Grier have to say about Will Smith, Macklin Celebrini, and the beginning of the season? We cover it all here. First, we discuss the development plan for Will Smith as described by Mike Grier. (02:52) We discuss load management, Smith's recent play, and what we think the goals are for this year for Smith. Second, Grier provided some clarity on the severity of the Macklin Celebrini injury. How long can the San Jose Sharks expect to be without their young superstar? (17:15) We cover the AHL play of Luca Cagnoni and Kasper Halttunen, and whether Grier thinks they stick in the AHL the whole year or get sent back to the CHL. (22:50) Grier gave a quick update on the Quentin Musty/Sudbury Wolves situation. (31:25) Finally, we discuss some of the bright spots in a so far winless season. Toffoli, Eklund, Granlund and Zetterlund are providing s spark in an otherwise poor opening for the Sharks. (43:00) Thanks so much for watching and subscribing!
