"Expect MIRACLES" Doug and Tamra planned to celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary but both had been sick with covid. Doug's sickness had not been getting better. He went to their local community hospital in Burns Oregon. After a look at his lungs, the doctor wanted to send Doug to Bend which is 2 hours from Burns. He was taken by air flight to Bend's St. Charles hospital. Doug tried to recover in progressive care but things took a turn for the worse and Doug had to be placed on a ventilator in the ICU. Doug had spiritual experiences during this time that gave him the desire and fight to stay alive.  While in the hospital, Doug had a stroke that caused paralysis on the left size of his body. The doctors also found a hole in Doug's heart. After 1 month of being apart and not knowing if Doug was going to live, Tamra was able to reunite with Doug and encourage him to keep fighting and never give up. Doug set a goal to return home before Thanksgiving 2021. Join me today as Doug and Tamra share their incredible story of faith, miracles, hope and overcoming tribulation. Mild weather had been the rule across the Pacific Northwest for most of the winter of 1994. In fact, when the winter was over it turned out to be the 10th warmest winter in more than 100 years. But in the later days of February an artic airmass that had been building across the Yukon began to slide southward. By the morning of February 28, 1994 it has settled in over Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Record cold gripped the region. Burns Oregon recorded a low temperature of 22 below zero smashing the old record of 2 above. In Pocatello, Idaho the mercury reached 17 below, another record. Seemingly alone, the town of Burns sits on the vast lava plains of Oregon that date back millions of years. This ranch and logging town was undisturbed, other than by the harsh winters and sometimes sweltering summers, until they gained national recognition in 2016 for the Bundy brothers and their occupation at the nearby Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. But aside from this unwelcome fame, Burns' history is unique and also true to the heart of what makes small towns across America remarkable.
