You know who’s a badass? Caitlin Turner, that’s who. In today’s episode I have the privilege of meeting up with her at the No Limits Archery shop in Denver after spending the weekend catching the Alpha Bowhunting Challenge.   I’ve never met someone who’s life, and story, sound so much like my own, but I truly felt connected with Caitlin and know so many others will be able to relate to her and her journey. From her path through some dark times, to overcoming and finding her way, she's had a little bit of it all.    Together we recap the ABC event in Eagle, and what goes into the Alpha challenge, as well as online the course and what you can expect if you come to an event to participate, or spectate. I highly suggest both!    Caitlins passion for learning, becoming the best version of herself, and rolling through life beside other strong people in the bowhunting community was a breath of fresh air, and something I definitely want to be a part of.    Listen in, and be sure to check out the Alpha Bowhunting Challenge.    Connect with Caitlin on Instagram and on Facebook.

Double Edged Double Bill returns to the realm of fantasy films! Along with returning guest Caitlin Turner, Adam Thomas and Thomas Mariani take a look at two fantasy films from the magical year of 1985! First is our bad feature Red Sonja, where Bridget Nielsen makes her awkward debut and Arnold Schwarzenegger is... briefly there. Then, our good feature is Return to Oz, the weird quasi sequel to the classic musical that Disney has tried to bury for being too dark. Adam Thomas and Thomas Mariani are reading into some Stephen King adaptations this week. Joining them is special guest from Horror News Radio & King super fan Dave Dreher! The trio first dig into the good feature 1987's The Running Man, a sci-fi actioner that takes the very basic premise of a King novel and turns it into an Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle. But what a glorious vehicle for Schwarzenegger action it is! Then, the bad feature that more than makes up for the lack of King faithfulness... in sacrifice of quality: 1986's Maximum Overdrive. The horror take on machines rising to seek revenge on humans is Stephen King's first and only directorial effort... and there's a pretty clear reason why. Listen for all the adaptational blasphemy and Arnold one liner love here! Then, our trio sit through a not-so-Oscar winning 2003 American Idol vehicle From Justin to Kelly, a film about bikinis, summer love and fulfilling contractual obligations. On this week’s episode, we continue our four-part Group Podcast series with our third episode where my guests discuss what that 'thing' about themselves is that they still struggle to love about themselves.  Not only do they get real about what they really dislike, but one of my guests reveals that they have deep, unresolved beef from years ago with another guest. It gets a little heated. It's definitely an episode you will not want to miss. This week’s guests are: Caitlin Turner: an empowering Instagram influencer (@gypsetgoddess). Zach Puchtel: a musician and  transformational author of the upcoming book “The American.” Amber Valdez: The "Life Purpose Cheerleader" coach and author of Stickie Affirmations. Preston Smiles: a popular transformational YouTuber, and founder of ‘Man Cave,’ an online brotherhood of conscious men. This concept was conceived from the positive feedback we received on Episode 149 where I brought in 5 of my friends and just sat around and talked about life and what’s real for us. If you'd like to listen to part 1 and 2 of this series, check out Episode 171 and Episode 173 where we discuss Negative Thoughts/Limiting Beliefs and Racist moments from our lives, respectively.   Learn more about Are You Being Real at AreYouBeingReal.com/175

This is a delicate, sensitive, and hot-button topic and I'm delighted with the bold, inspiring, and honest answers our guests answered on the spot. It's a topic that definitely doesn't get address nearly enough and I'm happy to share this with you. This week’s guests are: Caitlin Turner: an empowering Instagram influencer (@gypsetgoddess). On this week’s episode, we shake things up by bringing four friends of mine into the studio as part of a new group format we are experimenting with here at Are You Being Real.  This concept was conceived from the positive feedback we received on Episode 149 where I brought in 5 of my friends and just sat around and talked about life and what’s real for us. They discuss what limiting beliefs are STILL holding them back even after doing their own personal development work for years.  They all share honestly and openly except for one guest that gets called out while the microphones are still rolling (listen through to the end to see how this guest responds). It’s refreshing to see that even those you may admire and hold up with admiration and respect are also humans just trying to find their own truths.
