Today we're talking about the relationship between cancer treatment and exercise. For years, the standard advice for someone going through cancer treatment has been simple: just rest. The belief has long been that the body has to slow down and conserve energy to cope with the intensity of the treatment. However, recent research is challenging this long held notion. What if your body doesn't need to slow down - what if it actually needs to speed up? Today, I'm joined by Dr. Jessica Scott, whose groundbreaking research is reshaping our understanding of the best path to recovery for cancer patients.

My biggest thing is I pick up the phone and I just make the phone call. Whether it's your management, whether it's a customer, whether it's something that you need from somebody to take that next step. Worst-case scenario, it's a no, and you move on. But best-case scenario, you get what you had hoped for.” JESSICA'S TIP: “Invest in yourself. Be proactive with getting better at your job by finding a mentor, by attending trainings. They will help with your professional development. Go to the live events, push yourself outside of the comfort zone and just build those connections. That's how we thrive in this business – off of the connection.”

God loves to exceed our expectations and break our boxes. Today's topic does just that. As we end our week, today we're exploring God's attributes that make him a fun, joyful Father. Let's allow God to reshape our notion of him and free our hearts up to enjoy just how good God really is. He is better than anyone we've ever known, and it's my hope today we can see that with clear eyes. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 30:11-12. Today's worship is Run To The Father by CodyCarnes. -- Start your day with Jesus   Most of us know the importance of a daily quiet time consisting of Bible reading and prayer, yet many struggle with finding a devotional resource that is both easy to understand and relatable to daily life. In the kingdom of God, we find a culture different from that of our world. We are often taught to be self-made, pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, and that it's the survival of the fittest. God's kingdom turns these principles on their head. We are encouraged to wait, trust, and receive from our God who supplies for our every need. Does your life mimic one of trust and waiting? One of open hands and thankfulness? Today as we move forward in our week of God being our Father we'll look at his provisional nature. As we learn of God's intentions to meet our every need, open your heart today to trust in this God who's our Provider.   Our Scripture for today comes from Philippians 4:19, and today's worship is Voice That Stills the Raging Sea by Rivers & Robots.  -- Start your day with Jesus   Most of us know the importance of a daily quiet time consisting of Bible reading and prayer, yet many struggle with finding a devotional resource that is both easy to understand and relatable to daily life. We're kicking off bad romance and couples issues month with one of the greatest stories about a marriage going up in flames ever told. To try to relay the events of this movie is to grab madness itself by the horns. Rooted in his own acrimonious divorce, Polish director Andrez Zulawski's POSSESSION tells the volatile, violent, and disturbing breakup of the marriage between Mark and Anna, played in spectacular fashion by Sam Neil and Isabelle Adjani respectively. But it's also so much more than that. It dives into cosmic horror in ways that are shocking and thrilling. Through the deployment of doppelgangers it explores how we try to excise the parts of our loved ones we dislike in order to mold a more perfect union. It mirrors the tensions of its setting-Cold War era West Berlin-while also incorporating modern dance into the movements of its characters in a way that adds depth and nuance to the story. There's no way Mike could talk about this one on his own, so he's brought out two good friends and great podcasters: Jessica Scott (We Who Walk Here) and TaffetaV (Late podcast). We get down and dirty with the details of this one, while also discussing the common factors in divorce and relationships ending. It's time to reel in the catch of the day: Polish coming of age mermaid musical horror film The Lure (2015 or 2017).Along for swim lessons is Jessica Scott, who helps to clarify that Silver's storyline does *not* complicate the film's feminist reading.Plus: the clear trans allegory, our fave musical numbers (and how the film connects to Burlesque), connects to both Disney and Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid and why Mietek SUCKS.References:> Ten Backe.
