In the spiritual scene, people think that we can break the ego… And if we have broken the ego, we get enlightenment… The Psychologists don't think that it is possible to break the ego permanently and they can prove that. What is the ego?In the spiritual/religious scene, we define the ego as the root of all sorrow or as the collection of our negative feelings, thoughts, and habits. Actually, this is not true! Our ego is the collection of all of our habits, feelings, and thoughts.Everything that we have learned is part of our ego, be it our skills, habits, bad temper, and even our diseases. When we had been a baby, we had inside of us the divine and our animal mind that is part of the ego. We grew up and lost the connection to the divine, and our ego was formed through our environment, parents, and so on. Actually, our ego helps us to survive. For that reason, the Psychologists are not against the ego.Through spiritual, religious contemplation, we increase the divine inside of us. So that we get reconnected to the divine and can feel the divine as love, or bliss or calmness of the mind or as a Satori or Samadhi. Many of the holy saints or gurus are teaching us that we have to get rid totally of our ego to become divine, egoless, or enlightenment. And these gurus proclaim that they are egoless. The history tells us rather more that these so divine gurus have cheated us… We all lose our ego during our sleep. And when we wake up, our ego is back. After we experience a Samadhi or Satori, we are again in our ego. We can only lose our ego for a specific time and never permanently. If we break our ego permanently we will die… Because our ego is so intervened in our body and mind. We can't live without our ego. The great Guru Ramakrishna said we can't break our ego, we can only make our ego a servant of God or of the people… Instead, to build up more and more our selfish Ego, we can become step by step a servant of God. And this part is following the Christian, Sufis, Yogis, and Buddhists. And it starts that we try our best to serve our family, coworkers, clients, customer, God… If we combine it with spiritual and religious contemplation, we connect with God and experience the divine…. Could ancient yogis have tapped into a science we still don't understand? Mystical experiences—like hearing divine messages within the heart—may sound like fantasy today, but 300 years ago a FaceTime call would've seemed like wizardry. Arthur C. Clarke famously said, “Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.” In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how imagination and humility may be the keys to rediscovering spiritual truths often mistaken for myth. Highlights include: • Why Einstein called imagination more important than knowledge • Yoga maya vs. Maha maya: illusion that either binds or liberates • Why Krishna never incarnates alone—and who He brings with Him • Debunking the debunkers: why unseen doesn't mean unreal • Raghunath's mantra for spiritual openness: “Could be.” Tune in as ancient stories, modern minds, and timeless truths come together in the pages of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam.
In this episode I host a dialogue between Lama Justin von Bujdoss and Charlie Morley. Justin and Charlie share their extensive experience as modern teachers of Vajrayana, compare notes on the state of Tantra in the West, and reflect on the responsibility of openly teaching previously restricted, esoteric practices. Justin and Charlie wrestle with the tension between conserving traditional religious forms and innovating to meet today's moral sensibilities and technological currents. They suggest changes they would like to see in both Asian Buddhist cultures and Western society, consider the pros and cons of long meditation retreats in today's world, and call for hierarchical equality for women practitioners and teachers. I invite Justin and Charlie to reveal the underlying principles that guide their desired reforms and consider the pitfalls of advocating change without awareness of one's guiding rationale. Justin and Charlie also discuss the role of neuroscience in the furthering of Buddhist understanding, reveal the potential trauma-healing power of dream yoga and dark retreat, and share their thoughts on the impact of fatherhood on one's religious life. … www.guruviking.com Also available on Youtube, iTunes, & Spotify – search ‘Guru Viking Podcast'. 01:52 - State of the Dharma in 2025 06:12 - Secret practices now widely available 09:37 - Whiteness and misogyny 10:02 - Why are secret practices openly taught? 11:49 - Conservatism is the achilles heel of the Karma Kagyu sect 12:23 - Controversy about online empowerments 14:32 - Understanding emptiness 16:00 - Dream empowerments 17:48 - Technology and survival of Buddhism 19:22 - Amulets of protection 21:16 - 4th turning of the wheel of Dharma 23:58 - Trauma, racism, and classism, refugees 25:54 - Working for the NYC Department of Corrections 28:41 - Potential of dream yoga and dark retreat for healing trauma 29:19 - Why don't Tibetan lamas talk about trauma? 29:55 - Cultural overlay, Tibetan identity, and religion 32:44 - Western calls for reform vs traditional Tibetan values 48:53 - Conservatism vs reform 51:43 - Real religion vs mere cultural overlay 52:31 - N vs 3-year retreat 58:14 - Different versions of ngondro 01:02:12 - Classical Indian approaches to tantra 01:03:12 - How to reform without losing the spirit of the religion 01:04:28 - The energy of the tradition 01:06:28 - Justin's desire for social change in Vajrayana 01:08:41 - Wisdom keeper vs lineage holder 01:12:51 - 2-way revolution 01:14:20 - How to decide what should be changed vs what should be preserved 01:18:32 - Charlie's collaboration with Choje Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche 01:22:05 - Charlie criticises misogyny in Tibetan Buddhism 01:23:50 - Transgender and non-binary people in Himalayan Buddhist contexts 01:27:49 - Religious traditions are diverse and evolving 01:30:11 - Yogis and practice results 01:33:41 - Fatherhood and Dharma 01:36:37 - Long retreats are not important if you can rest in rigpa 01:39:29 - Dharma Dads workshop 01:42:09 - How important is ordination? 01:43:31 - Why is ordination so emphasised? 01:46:04 - Justin almost became a monk 01:48:22 - Advice for parents 01:49:14 - Charlie reflects on impending fatherhood and not being a monk 01:50:38 - Steve's concluding remarks 01:51:11 - Steve urges a deeper investigation into motives behind advocacy for change 01:52:01 - Culture and Dharma essence 01:53:01 - Charlie's concluding remarks and encouragement for practitioners 01:54:04 - Justin's concluding remarks 01:54:15 - Praise for Guru Viking Podcast, and encouragement to practitioners … Previous episodes with Justin: - https://www.guruviking.com/search?q=bujdoss Previous episode with Charlie: - https://www.guruviking.com/search?q=morley … Find out more about Justin: - https://justinvonbujdoss.com/ Find out more about Charlie: - http://www.charliemorley.com/ … For more interviews: - https://www.guruviking.com Music ‘Deva Dasi' by Steve James
Politics shift, bodies age, relationships break—we see the surface, the temporary illusion. Yogis look deeper to see the eternal reality behind it all. In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how sacred texts—the Bhagavad Gītā, Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, the Rig Veda, and the New Testament—urge us to fix our vision on the eternal. From pearls resting on a hidden thread to the saints' constant gaze toward the divine, these traditions all point to the same truth: what's real can't always be seen with the eyes - so look deeper though the eyes of knowledge. Key Highlights: • Pearls and clouds—what the sages say about what really holds life together • The world is a stereogram - keep staring into it and eventually the vision pops • Kaustubha's near bike-lane road rage (he almost lost it.) • How bhakti can awaken even in a materially entangled life (yes, there's hope for all of us)

Even the learned men rose up and left without their hopes being fulfilled (renouncing the world). 1.Many people went to the forests and became ascetics, did penance, and lived by eating carrots and radishes; Yogis, ritualistic practitioners, yogis who claim to be 'unseen', and monks - all these are recorded in the account of the accumulation of wealth (i.e., their means cannot save them from the fear of death). 2.A person who has put on (religious symbols) chakras etc. on his body, but love and devotion has not arisen in his heart, who sings ragas and raginis but has become a mere hypocrite, such a person does not receive anything from God. 3.The fear of time is upon the whole world, the deluded wise are also written in the same account (they are also in the fear of death). O Kabir! Say - those people who have understood the practice of love and devotion have become free (from the fear of death). 4.3.

I read a quote—I hope it's accurate, it was from Einstein. He said, "You can see the world as an ordinary course of events, or you can see everything as a miracle." And the poet Blake had mentioned how you can, through observation, appreciation and gratitude, actually notice within a drop of water the entire cosmos. So there's this sense of, when you look out and you see the rain, or you see the ocean, or you see the ability in another person, you can notice that all these things are coming from a source, and it's overwhelmingly amazing. When we have that sense of awe and gratitude and appreciation, this is the next stage of consciousness, opening consciousness, not being contracted and just resigned to the material body, but then it becomes more and more expansive. And what is it that's becoming more and more expansive? It's that emotion of gratitude that's the beginning of our spiritual awakening, besides just noticing that we're not our body, but also noticing that we're grateful for our life and that everything around us is amazing. There's not one thing around us that isn't unique and amazing. So this becomes more and more expansive as bhakti grows, and it grows unlimitedly, just as if you shine a light upwards towards the sky. Theoretically, it will expand unlimitedly like this, and our consciousness can expand like that, unlimitedly, through the process of appreciation and gratitude, otherwise known as bhakti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Life has neither a meaning nor no meaning (Osho). If we see our life…We get born into a family that we didn't choose and get educated through them, that we didn't like and learned a skill to make money… And then our sexual desires awake and we want: 1.) To enjoy our sexuality with a deep love, -maybe our happiest moments in life.2.) We marry and get kids, have to earn enough money and suffer through that.4.) In this edition of Plan Sea, hosts Anna Madlener and Wil Burns are joined by Drs. Sara Seck and Neil Craik to discuss the current governance and public funding landscape for ocean-based carbon dioxide removal (oCDR) research and innovation in Canada. They focus particularly on jurisdictional challenges in Nova Scotia, related to an increase in oCDR R&D in the province over recent years, and discuss broadly how to strengthen future policymaker and public engagement.Sara Seck is a Professor of Law at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law, serving as the Yogis and Keddy Chair in Human Rights Law and the Director of the Marine & Environmental Law Institute. Dr. Seck sheds light on the complex and overlapping jurisdiction of land and ocean rights in Canada. She shares insights for oCDR stakeholders seeking to navigate this landscape to address permitting and other governance issues in coordination with the federal Canadian government, provincial governments, and First Nations leadership. Neil Craik is a Professor at the University of Waterloo, with appointments to the Basillie School of International Affairs (BSIA) and the School of Environment, Enterprise, and Development. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation and Co-Lead of the Environment and Resources Research Cluster at the BSIA. Dr. Craik discusses legislation and public funding opportunities that can help support oCDR initiatives in Canada. He also explains current procurement strategies for carbon credits across both the public and private sectors, and how oCDR can work towards compliance to access this market in the future. During the episode, the Plan Sea guests and hosts consider the implications of good governance and policy on advancing the development and funding of oCDR initiatives. The oCDR field is reaching a pivotal moment, with many research projects now moving towards real-world field trials that will answer key scientific questions but also raise new challenges for navigating existing and emerging legislation. Doubling-down on public engagement and unlocking new funding opportunities will be increasingly important for advancing oCDR activities in Canada and elsewhere.ACRONYMS / CONCEPTS:CDR: Carbon Dioxide Removal mCDR: Marine Carbon Dioxide Removal MRV: Measurement, Reporting, and Verification BBNJ Agreement: Agreement on Marine Biodiversity of Areas beyond National JurisdictionTCA: Transforming Climate Action Research ProgramPlan Sea is a semi-weekly podcast exploring ocean-based climate solutions, brought to you by the Carbon to Sea Initiative & the American University Institute for Responsible Carbon Removal.

On Tibetan New Year, the Friday just after Shiva Ratri, we spent some time practicing non-dual meditation (practice with us here) using the Nirvana Shatakam as a "guided meditation" tool. We sandwich some postural yoga practice to rest, recover and energize after our physical exertions over the course of the week in between two non-dual meditations, using the 6 verses of the text. Then, right after that, in honor of the great yogi Milarepa, and Tibetan Tantrik tradition, we launch into a discussion on Milarepa featuring Kavindraji who is a lineage holder of the Kagyu, the tradition Milarepa founded. By learning about Milarepa, we can learn about the Tantrik world of magic and liberation, guru and disciple and ultimate freedom. One day, we will double back to offer a more complete biography and commentary on this greatest of Yogis, Mila of the Cotton Cloth (repa) and about his householder Gurus, Marpa and Dakmema. For now, we offer this light introduction based on Lobsang P Lhalungpa's wonderful book: "The Life of Milarepa".PS: Here is our playlist on all things Shiva! Wellness expert and author Heather Grzych interviews renowned yoga teacher Peter Walters for an insightful and candid conversation. They dive into the importance of social connection in yoga, with Peter emphasizing the value of encouraging conversation in classes to foster a sense of community. They reflect on the vibrant yoga scene in San Francisco during the 2010s and the profound impact of Peter's mentor, Rusty Wells, whose devotional and sweaty yoga classes left a lasting impression on his own teaching style. The discussion also explores the balance between memorizing scripts and teaching authentically, with Peter offering guidance on finding one's true voice as a teacher. They touch on the sometimes unexpected dynamics in yoga classes, like the social element of people looking for romantic connections, and delve into the essence of Bhakti yoga — the yoga of love and devotion. Through this lens, Peter reflects on how yoga can help us transcend differences and connect with something greater than ourselves. The episode also explores the benefits of meditation, Peter's daily rituals, and his humorous take on “biohacking” and eating what you love. They discuss the shift to virtual yoga classes during the pandemic and the unique dynamics of teaching on Zoom versus in person. Peter shares his favorite books, including *Bringing Yoga to Life* by Donna Farhi and *The Surrender Experiment* by Michael Singer, and they explore the deeper aspects of yoga beyond the asana, touching on the true meaning of yoga. Listeners can expect a conversation that blends personal anecdotes, yoga philosophy, and a sense of humor, offering fresh insights into the practice and teaching of yoga. The Connected Yoga Teacher Podcast 386: Weaponization of Yoga with Sheena Sood Description: How can something like yoga, that is meant to be peaceful and focused on meditation and breath, be weaponized? How has it been co-opted by the far-right, colonizer projects, and Zionists? How does this show up in our yoga spaces and what can we do to address it? Dr. Sheena Sood shares her insights. She is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Delaware Valley University in Pennsylvania and has studied yoga at Kailash Tribal School of Yoga in India. Quotes from this episode: "Om-washing is the term for how the global far right and these ethnostates and cultural institutions use yoga as propaganda to make themselves look peaceful or liberatory to the public. But in fact, it's disguising their violent agendas." "If I'm doing yoga according to the ethics that I want to live up to, then yoga invites me to reckon with the violence my ancestors and my relatives might be participating in." "One of the ways in which these yoga studios participate in om-washing is in these unfortunate ways in which they think they're trying to be well-intentioned and decolonial, but they actually are only just doing this diversity and inclusion approach that is not actually anti-colonial and that is not anti-imperial." "No oppressed and formally colonized society has ever won a struggle against their oppressor simply through nonviolent, peaceful resistance." "I just want to encourage folks to not numb yourself as we continue to see these images and think they can't get any worse. Continue to find ways to let your heart feel what it is that you're witnessing."

Sadhguru speaks about how Yogis who attain mastery over the five elements can dematerialize their body. To elucidate this, he shares a fascinating anecdote of a family that found a pool of water on their Linga Bhairavi Yantra. He also looks at how being in the presence of Dhyanalinga and especially participating in the Pancha Bhuta Kriya helps one cleanse and master the five elements within the system. Designed by Sadhguru, Pancha Bhuta Kriya is conducted in the presence of Dhyanalinga. The process stabilizes the body and mind, balances out psychological instabilities, greatly helps those suffering from disturbed sleep and a constant sense of fear, and is particularly beneficial for people suffering from a weak constitution. Pancha Bhuta Kriya takes place every Shivaratri, one or two days before the New Moon. This process can be attended in-person as well as online. To register, visit https://isha.co/pbk-yt. Set the context for a joyful, exuberant day with a short, powerful message from Sadhguru. Explore a range of subjects with Sadhguru, discover how every aspect of life can be a stepping stone, and learn to make the most of the potential that a human being embodies. Responding to a question about how Yogis forego food and water for long periods of time, Sadhguru explains the science behind it and how deep meditative states lower one's metabolism and, in turn, the food and water intake. Sadhguru talks of the nature of the being that we call Krishna, and explains how he was a multifaceted, extremely capable being.
