For our latest episode, hosts John Hill and Marc MacNamara are going channeling their inner closet case as John shoves himself into Marc's literal bedroom closet in an attempt to find somewhere quiet to record. Surrounded by Marc's hanging garments, John kicks off the show by talking with Marc about recent hospital visits, the latest ‘Scream' movie (no spoilers – don't worry), bushy bushes, full moons, and what went down at the 2023 Oscars. ‘RuPaul's Drag Race' icon Alaska Thunderfuck 5000 and CockyBoys favorite Levi Karter then come on the pod to discuss Tennessee's drag ban, thoughts on Levi's previous co-stars, and how segments on the ‘Drag Race' main stage are actually filmed. After a round of The Big O, the hosts then take some calls from a couple of our actual listeners who have a bone to pick with Marc and John's recent thoughts on Madonna and Lady Gaga. There's a queer zombie uprising in Berlin and the boys, plus special guest Kyle Turner, are on the case. The trio tackle Canadian director Bruce LaBruce's challenging and subversive mainstream genre effort with a discussion on camp, the distinction between art cinema & porn, and whether or not the titular Otto is a melancholic young gay man or an actual zombie. This episode is a must for any aspiring queer media scholar (Kyle knows his shit!), but it's not all serious: we also discuss Gaga's Met Gala lewk, CockyBoys porn and our reactions to the erect penis fucking a gaping chest wound.Plus: Kyle takes over the game, challenging Trace and Joe to identify the creature or animal that best represents them in bed. You know you don't wanna miss that!Questions? Comments? Snark? This week, Casey feels threatened by his neighbor's dog, though perhaps she doesn't appreciate his impression of her. Tony checks Casey's privilege by talking about real attack dogs used against Native American protesters. A discussion of patriotism and the national anthem follows and Tony almost finishes it without a 9/11 conspiracy. Millennial women love watching naked men have sex at CockyBoys and Mother Teresa is a saint. As always, there is a lot to talk about and only 30 minutes!
If the name didn't tip you off, CockyBoys is a gay porn studio based in New York. Jake Jaxson has been running it, quite successfully, since 2010, starting with implementing a major shift in the aesthetic and overall quality of its videos – not only to up the production value, but to communicate what Jake refers to as a "nostalgia," and a sense of place. In an industry awash with graceless, utilitarian money-shots, readily available for free, how do you justify that extra investment in design, and getting your audience to pay for it? Part of our special April focus on sex and sexuality in architecture, I spoke with Jake about the tandem inspiration between pornography and architecture, and how design-conscious porn can lead to a more sex-positive society. Jake also shares his dream house for a shoot – hint: it rhymes with "The Ass Mouse".
Dale and Scott were so thrilled to be invited back onboard an RSVP Vacation's cruise--our second this year! This time, we sailed from Seattle to the great state of Alaska with 2,000 of our new best friends, mostly gays, a handful of lesbians, a few transsexuals, and a smattering of breeders, who all seemed to have a blast in this most breath-taking corner of our country. While sailing toward Juneau, we taped this episode in front of a live studio audience in the Queen's Lounge on the great Holland America Oosterdam. Our guests include two beautiful men, a real-life couple, actors and singer Michael Arden, who currently plays Patrick on FX's Anger Management, and Andy Mientus who is best known as Kyle on NBC's Smash. We talked about their hectic lives working on television, creating their cabaret show, working with the Deaf West Theater, thoughts on returning to Broadway, and how they tend to work on their harmonies instead of getting down and dirty. A truly talented and special couple, you'll dig Michael and Andy, and enjoy the inside, behind-the-scenes info...including whether or not "Kyle" and Andy saw that car coming! Plus, the boys were such good sports...they played our Slightly Dirty Gay Password game with two members of our audience, and as usual, hilarity ensued, and everyone walked away with great gift bags from our friends at CockyBoys! This is Part 1. You can get Part 2 when it's released on Thursday, August 1. Plus, take a look at our daily cruise log, where Dale & Scott share with you everything they did on the Alaska cruise last week, including photos and a few videos!
CockyBoys filmmaker Jake Jaxson is a friend and former business partner of Glenn Greenwald, who broke the story of Eric Snowden and NSA surveillance for The Guardian. We asked Jake about recent attempts in the media to link him to the ongoing story
If you've followed the Swish Edition over the last few years, you know that hosts Dale, Scott & Steve are obsessed with gay cruises. They just can't sing the praises of the all-gay chartered ship concept enough for it's sheer togetherness, adventure, and bang for your vacation buck. So, they were thrilled to speak this week to the new president of RSVP Vacations, Randle Roper. Randle tells the boys all about the ins and outs of this exciting vacation company--including their fast approaching Summer Alaska Cruise! Our chat with Randle kicks off at about the 28:00 minute mark. Also on this episode, we're talking about the John Mayer and Cyndi Lauper concerts we went to; all about the 4th of July weekend; how the Navy is letter sailors wear their uniforms to Pride events; why we applaud CBS for showing the Big Brother contestants' racist and homophobic comments; The New Yorker's depiction of Sesame Street's Bert & Ernie as gay; Lady Gaga changes the words to the National Anthem at a Pride event; and, much more. Plus, we have the newest song from our good friend Tom Goss. This Washington, DC-based folk rocker is making waves coast-to-coast and his Bears song is a slight departure from his usual sound, as he sings about his lifelong love for hairy, larger dudes. Learn more about Tom and buy his music on his site, tomgossmusic.com. And finally, Dale & Scott reveal that they'll be traveling once again with RSVP to Alaska, as an official part of the entertainment lineup! They'll be taping two episodes of the Swish Edition on the ship in front of live studio audiences, complete with celebrity guests and hilarious audience participation games with prizes from Andrew Christian and CockyBoys! Stay tuned for details. We hope you'll sit back and enjoy our freshest new episode!
This week the boys are all about Pride, and happy that the Vatican has a Rent Boy Ring. Proud of Bert and Ernie who are officially out by the New Yorker and Proud for Cockyboys and their new video that will be at a Gay Film Festival near you. Check next week with a new podcast with Reviews and letters from the peanut gallery (or what we call the big nut gallery). Stay Hard!
Wow. This is quite a new episode of the Swish Edition. You can always tell when your friendly neighborhood talk show hosts had a few drinks before powering up the studio. Dumb hilarity ensues, folks. First, the boys welcome back to the studio their good friends Eboné Bell and Angell Lynn, two DC chicks who always bring a little extra fun to the show. Eboné tells us all about her brand new magazine that launches today in Washington, DC, called Tagg Magazine, aimed at the District's lesbian community. (And host Scott is one of the premiere issue's columnists. Beware!) We also have Steve's tales from Southern Decadence, our thoughts on Obama and the pot smokers, Dale spots Steve's mom in his alley, covering up the taste of cock with brand new Listerine-like strips on the market, the girls' trip to Hollywood, Dale and Scott are featured on Episode 202 of HereTV's Just Josh for their first television interview, gay night at Six Flags in New Jersey, and much more. Then, the guys welcome to the studio, Jake Bass, Max Ryder and Seth Knight of CockyBoys fame (link not work safe). The boys were in rare form and they share all the behind-the-scenes craziness, whether or not they screw each other off-screen, all about their famed tattoos, and much more. It's a silly little dirty chat that kicks in at the 41:25 minute mark. Plus, we have new music from Australia's Melodiqa including his awesome new tracks Time You Knew and Mathematix from his album, Flight. Listen up and then go buy his stuff on iTunes. You'll be glad you did! All that, plus we announce the winner of our C-IN2 GRIP Athletic prize pack giveaway! We hope you enjoy this silly episode. ;)
First off, this is not your every week Swish Edition episode. THIS, dear listeners, is the premiere episode of Swish After Dark. It's a little dirtier. A little bolder. And probably not work safe. Your hosts Dale & Scott start off by talking about their weekend, a bit about Madonna's leaked rehearsal video, a Japanese man who served his own penis to paying customers, that real-life naked zombie attack in Florida, and homemade dildos. Then, they throw it to New York City, where the Swish gay-on-the-ground in New York City, Justin Luke, chats it up with CockyBoys.com's Pierre Fitch, Max Ryder and Jake Bass about all things sexual and the new movie they shot last weekend, Project Go-Go Boy. The chat starts at the xx:xx mark. You'll learn their dick sizes, preferred positions, how they got into porn and soooo much more. Oh, and all about the process Pierre went through to create his own dildo. Yup, you can buy it. Finally, Dale & Scott answer some listener emails and then they're out as quickly as they came.
