This week's encounters episode is all about paranormal abilities—the kind that show up intentionally, unexpectedly, or right alongside something spooky that refuses to stay quiet. We're diving into psychic awakenings, premonitions, witchy lineages and more. Stories include: A listener discovers a terrifying entity in a too-cheap rental that awakens her psychic abilities. Another shares how fiery orbs and mysteriously repaired electronics suggest her beloved cats are still texting her from beyond. A teenage brother reveals a series of dreams that accurately foreshadow his real-life injury. One listener reflects on growing up psychic in a former funeral home, surrounded by shadow figures and guided by a protective grandmother spirit. As we move into the holiday season, many of us feel pressure to do more, give more, and be more. What if this year we focus instead on being present with childlike curiosity? Over the years, I've loved watching our grandchildren during the holidays. I often wonder how they are experiencing these moments and what priorities might look like through their eyes. Childlike curiosity softens stress, invites joy, and deepens our connections with loved ones. It can help us savor moments we might otherwise rush through. Imagine how your priorities might shift if you approached this season with the wonder of a child. I will share simple suggestions to reconnect with curiosity, practice gratitude, and embrace the kind of joy that can transform the season from overwhelming to uplifting. Now you can listen commercial free at your leisure…Click here and let's grow together: Embracing The Holiday Season with Childlike Curiosity, Lillian McDermott If you love this podcast episode, share it with a friend. Fueled by passion, Dutch artist Vera Grace is steadily shaping her own space in Amsterdam's scene. Her sound continues to evolve, blending modular synthesis with hypnotic rhythms and deep mental trips that make you lose sense of time. She approaches DJing as a way to create something new through layering, while her productions focus on warped sound design. Her curiosity about modular synthesis opened a new dimension in her work. She started developing a fully live analog set and has recently begun performing with her modular system, constantly pushing her sound forward. Her most recent EPs, What Was Always There and Funktion Over Form, convey a clear essence in her sound. She moves fluidly between broken rhythms, ambient trips, psychedelic textures, and driving 4/4 tracks, all while staying true to the genre's roots. After graduating the Conservatorium of Amsterdam, Vera Grace is steadily forging her place in the scene, with performances at clubs like Radion, Grelle Forelle, Elysia, FVTVR, Tresor, and festivals such as Aquasella, Awakenings and DGTL already under her belt. "No fiction author would have had the temerity to invent a disorder of such incredible clinical diversity and puzzling behavior."In the winter of 1916-1917, as World War I raged, physicians in Europe began noticing bizarre cases of brain illness. Thousands arrived at hospitals with high fevers, headaches, confusion, and a host of other factors - suspected at first to be meningitis or even poisoning - yet none of the explanations fit. What all of these patients shared was either an overwhelming drowsiness or psychotic agitation.By late 1918, as the great influenza pandemic struck, this new "sleeping sickness" had spread across Europe and Beyond. Earlier that year, outbreaks were noted in England and the first American case was reported in September. By 1919, enough cases had surfaced worldwide that health officials realized they faced an epidemic of a baffling new illness...Research & writing by Micheal Whelan and Amelia WhiteHosting & production by Micheal WhelanLearn more about this podcast at http://unresolved.meIf you would like to support this podcast, consider heading to https://www.patreon.com/unresolvedpod to become a Patron or ProducerBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/unresolved--3266604/support.

Welcome everyone to round three of our "Best of" series. We started this show seven and a half years ago to take a deep dive into all things spiritual, metaphysical, and enlightening, and so it is that we proudly present this “Best of World Awakenings – Part 3”. This is a compilation of some of our most recent & most popular episodes featuring some of our amazing & fascinating guests, as we continue to pursue the answer to the question, “Why now, more than ever, are the people of the world awakening to all things spiritual, metaphysical, and enlightening?" Here is a list of our featured guest on this show...CINDY LORA-RENARD: Let's start it off with one of the world's foremost teachers & practitioners of the non-dualistic spiritual teachings of “A Course in Miracles”, Cindy Lora-Renard. Here's a segment of Cindy talking about her recent physical issues she's been dealing with and how to handle them in a practical manner even when coming from a higher spiritual understanding. And by the way, Cindy just happens to be an excellent singer & performer and we will also hear her sing her new song, “Above the Battleground”.TOM KENYON: Next up on this Best of World Awakenings – Part 3 we give you a taste of yet another one of our most popular guests, Tom Kenyon from our 214th episode. I walked 200 miles from Portugal to Spain and I'm finally sharing what showed up for me on that path. This episode is me unpacking the small, ordinary moments that feel like tiny miracles: putting one foot in front of the other, learning to swim with the current when life feels like a raging river, and finding the strange beauty in soreness, struggle, and stillness. On the Camino I fell back in love with reading physical pages, journaling every night, and listening to my body. There were afternoons of hip-flexor stretches in the grass, sunsets that stopped me in my tracks, and conversations that brought out my inner child — all of it reminding me that being matters as much as doing. Your body knows things; when you slow down and feel, it gives you answers. I talk about the awakenings that changed me: that I can do more than I thought, that craft and creativity are how I find myself, and that we get to choose our hard things. I learned to spot the difference between craftspersonship and perfectionism, and how freeing it is to stop measuring my worth by other people's opinions. There's real power in learning where you end and where other people begin. We also dive into the simple stuff — the extraordinary ordinary: a grandmother's voice, wind on your face, a dog running to greet you — and how those tiny things are the heartbeats of a meaningful life. The Camino taught me to break social contracts that keep you small, to make space for wonder, and to let curiosity and play back into adulthood. This episode is a quiet conversation about boundaries, intuition, creativity, and mortality — a nudge to make time for the things your soul is asking for. If you've ever been afraid to go after something hard or felt stuck comparing yourself to others, I hope my walk gives you permission to try, to fail, to create, and to feel. So, what do you desire? Make space for it. Thanks for walking a few miles of this road with me — there really is so much beauty where it's quiet.

This episode of Wise_N_Nerdy with Charles and Joe kicks off with a heartfelt Question of the Week: “What is your favorite Robin Williams movie?” From the magic of Aladdin and the swashbuckling adventure of Hook to the emotional depth of Awakenings and What Dreams May Come, the hosts and listeners celebrate the incredible range and impact of one of the world's most beloved actors. After rolling the dice, fate leads the duo into the “How Do I…?” segment, where Charles and Joe explore how to decide which causes are truly worth supporting. They discuss meaningful giving, how to avoid pitfalls like high-overhead charities, and how to make sure your generosity makes a real difference.Next, it's time for the “Parliament of Papas” — and this week's Reddit story sparks big discussion. When a hungry 15-year-old reacts to her mom snagging fries without asking, a simple moment turns into a full-blown family standoff. Was it selfishness, manipulation, or just a misunderstanding about boundaries and respect? The hosts weigh in with empathy, humor, and dad-level insight. The dice then bless the show with a “Daddy, Tell Me A Story” segment, where Charles and Joe share personal moments that make them feel awesome — those little victories and proud dad vibes that remind us to celebrate life's small wins. But no Wise_N_Nerdy episode would be complete without bad dad jokes, and this week's come courtesy of the always hilarious Devocite, complete with his daughter's eye-roll-worthy reactions. Finally, the fates guide the hosts to “What Are You Nerding Out About?” — where Charles shares his passion for connecting with people and helping them thrive, while Joe dives into his new favorite cozy fantasy anime, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, a deliciously heartwarming show about magic, food, and friendship. It's a journey full of laughter, reflection, and community — everything that makes Wise_N_Nerdy special. Intimate Conversations

Simran is magical. It's as if I've waited my whole life to meet her… again? She's an author, artist, publisher, mystic, host of 11:11 talk radio,  founder of 11:11 magazine and creating content that bridges humanity and divinity sharing her transformative journey from material success to spiritual awakening triggered by repeatedly seeing the number 11:11.  We began our recording with construction in the background- given our fancy microphones didn't pick it up, we decided to embrace the disruption as symbolic and potentially useful for their discussion.  We discussed how to respond rather than react to life's challenges. Simran shared her personal journey of transformation that began with repeatedly seeing the number 11:11, which led her to a spiritual awakening after living an outwardly successful but inwardly empty life. She described her 10-year journey of surrendering to darkness and embracing her shadow self, during which she cried daily for months after never having cried before age 40. Simran explained her discovery of three aspects of self—identity, shadow/animal, and humanity—and how embracing her full humanity became the doorway to divinity and wholeness. Simran vulnerably shared her experience of financial hardship during a 10-year period where, despite accumulating debt and having no income, she was always taken care of through unexpected opportunities like selling her house. She describes this as a practice of embodied faith, where she allowed herself to fully feel her emotions while simultaneously witnessing them from a place of divine masculine awareness. She explained that by deeply loving herself and trusting in something bigger than herself, she was able to navigate seemingly impossible situations, such as managing three properties while being financially strained, through creative solutions that manifested elegantly when needed. She walks her talk, explaining that mastery is not about having a perfect life, but about maintaining emotional balance through all experiences, emphasizing that everyone is building the muscles to become masters. When I asked about helping people deal with the chaos of current world events, Simran suggested that challenges don't take us down but rather create a detour, opportunities to reframe obstacles, challenges, and even darkness as blessings in disguise that help deconstruct the layers we build in our seven-year developmental cycles, brilliantly using the example of the jackhammers installing new drains outside her home, as a metaphor for how we're collectively backed up with emotions that need release. Simran discussed the importance of looking inward when encountering external conflicts, suggesting that what we see outside is a reflection of what's inside us. She shares her personal journey of confronting narcissism by finding and loving the corresponding parts within herself, including her "inner demon" and self-hate. Simran explained that uncomfortable feelings and experiences are created by neglected parts of ourselves seeking attention, and the value of fully feeling emotions without an agenda to heal or fix them.  Simran and I have incredibly difficult custody battles in common. She shared her difficult journey of motherhood, including a complete separation from one child and limited contact with her 4-year-old son due to circumstances in South Carolina. After years of grief, she realized her tears were not only her own but also those of her ancestors and the collective suffering of others. She eventually sold her home and moved across from her son's high school to be near him energetically, even without regular contact, which has provided her with a sense of connection. Simran shared her philosophy of trusting life's intelligence and embracing simplicity as the first grace we must give ourselves. She explained that freedom comes from releasing attachments and viewing life as a spiritual soul experience rather than an ego-driven one.  Just when we thought the jackhammers were the only sign from the Universe, our conversation was then interrupted by a power shutdown! You can't make this sh&^ up! We both interpreted this as a meaningful sign to unplug, reset, and listen to one's soul rather than acting on impulse. We discussed the importance of recognizing which part of oneself is driving actions and being open to the guidance that comes through everyday disruptions like burst pipes or lost jobs. We concluded our deep conversation, discussing how challenges like divorce can be gifts and opportunities for rebirth. On After The Show on Patreon, we had a blast dancing and pondering love. Simran defined "epiphagasms" as profound spiritual insights and describes orgasmicness as when "I disappear into you, and you disappear into me,” As two single women, we discussed our perspectives on divine love versus human love. Simran expressed that she knows divine love well but questions the value of human love after experiencing an arranged marriage for 20 years, while I suggested that relationships can offer growth through liberating love beyond self-interest. We both acknowledged being in a place of feeling complete on our own but remain curious about what a relationship with someone at their level of spiritual development might offer. You can find her work including her trilogy of books meant to be read in small daily doses, on her website iamsimran.com She has a Substack membership and free content at 1111mag.com  ➡️ Go check out patreon.com/allanapratt for Exclusive content! The product of years of embedded fieldwork within Indigenous film crews in Northwestern Australia, Dreaming Down the Track: Awakenings in Aboriginal Cinema (U Minnesota Press, 2025) delves deeply into Aboriginal cinema as a transformative community process. It follows the social lives of projects throughout their production cycles, from planning and editing to screening, broadcasting, and after-images. Across its narrative sweep, this ethnography engages the film career of Kukatja elder Mark Moora to demonstrate the impact of filmmaking on how Aboriginal futures are collectively imagined and called forth. William Lempert highlights a series of awakenings through which Moora ultimately came to view cinema as a process for catalyzing his family's return to their home country of Mangkayi. This biographical media journey paints an intimate portrait of the inspiring possibilities and sobering limitations of Indigenous envisioning within settler states. Lempert traces how Moora's life and films convey a multiplicity of Aboriginal experiences across time and space, from colonial contact to contemporary life in communities like Balgo, including the continued governmental attempts to undermine them. Amid ongoing negotiations to establish the first treaties between Indigenous nations and Australian states, Dreaming Down the Track illustrates what is at stake in how Aboriginal–State relations are represented and understood, both within communities and for the broader public. Lempert stays true to Moora's insight that film can preserve community stories for generations to come, toward the aim of enacting sovereign futures. William Lempert is Osterweis Family Associate Professor of anthropology at Bowdoin College. His writing has been published in several journals, including Cultural Anthropology and American Indian Culture and Research Journal. Reighan Gillam is Associate Professor in the Department of Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean Studies at Dartmouth College.
