The coterie scrambled to reassert their control over the meeting after Val punched Brian Tombstone into Michael Arden, who then retaliated by boiling the Brujah's blood. After Everett convinced Madre to delay punishing Arden, Evangeline reminded the clan leaders of the danger that the unstable prince posed to them all, and Everett presented their plan to forcibly replace Toasta Rosa with a democratic system. Some clan leaders have been convinced, but can the others stop their infighting long enough to see reason? Featuring our Storyteller Ryan LaPlante (@theryanlaplante) alongside Everett (@Tyler_Hewitt), Val (@deltastic) and Evangeline (@lauraehamstra). Before the coterie met with the clan leaders, Evangeline devised a strategy for the meeting, and Val and Michael Arden had a heated discussion about clan politics. Everett received a call from the prince, who informed him that he would be celebrated with a parade the following day, and Everett suggested a logistical change to make it easier to assassinate the prince amidst the festivities. But with Val having just lost control and punched a fellow Brujah, how will her sudden violence impact the mutinous negotiations? At the station, Everett and Evangeline discussed the upcoming clan leader meeting. Evangeline realized the Tremere were leaderless and if Michael Arden were to step into that role, they could use his vote, so they took him to the arcade and vaguely threatened the remaining Tremere into electing him. Meanwhile, Val picked up groceries for Will and reflected guiltily on Margery's death, thereby regaining some of her humanity. But can the coterie convince the clan leaders to help them murder a prince? Amazing Mazie. Practicing kindness. Leadership. Bobby was a little late to the party when discovering TOMMY, but now we can see him star on Broadway as Cousin Kevin in the Tony Nominated revival of TOMMY. This is his third Broadway show, and not only does Bobby discuss his approach to Cousin Kevin, but also talks very openly about what it's like to lead a show where most of the cast are Chicago transplants making their Broadway debut. Bobby is currently reprising his performance in TOMMY from the Goodman Theatre's 30th anniversary production. Broadway: Company (dir. Marianne Elliott); A Bronx Tale (dirs. Robert De Niro & Jerry Zaks). Select theatre: 50th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein's Mass at the Kennedy Center; My Fair Lady (dir. Michael Arden); A Funny Thing… Forum (dir. Jessica Stone); Starting Here, Starting Now (dir. Richard Maltby, Jr.); world premiere of Ken Ludwig's A Comedy of Tenors; three seasons at The Muny. Film/TV: If Beale Street Could Talk; Intervenors; “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”; “Madam Secretary”; “The Code.” Solo album: Along the Way. Training: University of Michigan; RADA. @bobby_conte In 1969, The Who created a rock opera that changed the course of music history. Today, it's back on Broadway in a dazzling all-new production, Tony Award®️ nominated for Best Musical Revival, that feels more relevant than ever. “Everything about this exhilarating production shakes you awake and leaves you buzzed: Knockout singing, superbly inventive stagecraft and a star-making performance from 24-year-old Ali Louis Bourzgui as the Pinball Wizard that's the most exciting New York stage debut in years.” (NY Post) “Broadway has nothing else like this wizardry going on, not this season and nothing I know of for next season. Visually and sonically overwhelming, it's a prescient masterpiece of a rock opera.” Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

In this episode Tene is joined by her friend, fellow actor and fellow podcaster; Robbie Simpson from "The Breakdown with Robbie" podcast. Robbie is an established NYC based artist with the credentials, experience & education to back it up! Sometimes you need to fall in order to rise again and that is exactly what these two unpack in this episode. How do you know when to call it quits? Are you treating your passion like a drug? Can and HOW ON EARTH do you find balance? All questions you will have the answers to by the end of this interview. Through Tene & Robbie's transparency & vulnerability; they were able to find their separate creative endeavours and it took waiting tables and calling themselves "career servers" in order to get there. This isn't your typical "industry chat" so be prepared to be challenged, giggle and of course; levelled up by the end! Spring Awakening and Once On This Island director Michael Arden IS HERE. Talk about a multi-hyphenate. Michael is an actor, stage director, film director, writer, musician, producer, singer, composer, and on and on and on, Michael is a beacon of creative light in our industry. WE LOVE HIM. Dan gets to ask Michael a burning question that has been on his mind since he saw Michael Arden’s production of Spring Awakening back in 2015. Michael is full of incredible insight and thoughtful artistic conversation. Dan and Joe have always been huge fans Michael’s … From the early days of We talk to Michael this week about how “the failures and foolishness lead us to the truth”, how you learn more from the flops and the failures than you do from the successes, to always embrace what is hard and run toward what is scary, and that “A laser only looks focus because of the space around it”… WHAT WE MEAN IS… become as well rounded as possible. Learn as much as you can. Michael received a scholarship to Interlochen Arts Academy as a theatre student, where he graduated in 2001. He was accepted on a full scholarship to the Juilliard School, where he was in the Drama Division's Group 34. He left Juilliard in 2003 to join the Broadway revival company of the musical Big River. He most recently directed Annie at the Hollywood Bowl with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. This past year he was at the helm of a new production of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol starring Tony winner Jefferson Mays that was filmed and will hopefully be headed to Broadway next year. As an actor, Michael has appeared on Broadway in The Times They Are A-Changin’ and Big River as well as in numerous films and television shows, most notably Anger Management, Bride Wars, and Source Code. HAILEY KILGORE has a lot to say about Ti Moune, the character she plays in the Tony-nominated revival of Once On This Island: "She is a powerhouse. She knows what she wants. She's going to go and do it." The same can be said for the 19-year-old Tony nominee. The Michael Arden-helmed production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's musical began performances at the Circle in the Square Theatre in November 2017. In just over six months, Kilgore has become a fresh-faced Broadway star, winning the hearts of audiences and critics alike. Tony winner LaChanze, currently starring in Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, garnered her first nomination for originating the roleback in 1991. Now, LaChanze and Kilgore are facing each other in the stacked Leading Actress in a Musical category. Kilgore has always been a go-getter as well as a devout Ariana Grande fan and a pageant queen. Like Ti Moune, she's someone who knows what she wants and is going to go and get it. The young talent stopped by Show People with Paul Wontorek to tell us where she's been, and where she's headed.

You might know or recognize Tamyra from her turn on American Idol in 2002, but she’s also appeared on Broadway in Bombay Dreams and RENT. She also toured with If/Then back in 2016 and now she’s starring eight times a week at the Circle In The Square Theater as Papa Ge in Michael Arden’s revival production of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND.Hosted by: Paul Wontorek, Beth Stevens, Matt Rodin
YOU GUYS!!!! Sitting down with Lea Salonga for this interview was literally a dream come true. Lea, of course, needs no introduction, but since I have to put something here, here goes: In 1989 she was selected to star as Kim in "Miss Saigon"--first in London and then on Broadway where, of course, she won the Tony Award for her work. She would go on to star in "Les Miserables," "Flower Drum Song," and "Allegiance" to name just a very few shows. She was also the singing voice of Jasmine in the Disney film version of "Aladdin" and Mulan in "Mulan." In the Philippines, where she is a mega-star, she is a co-host of the popular TV show "The Voice" Her credits go on and on and on. And now she's back on Broadway as Erzulie, The Goddess of Love, in Michael Arden's utterly magical production of "Once on this Island" now playing at Circle in the Square. It was one of the high honors of my career to get to meet and chat with Lea. Enjoy!
In this episode, Tommy sits down with Interlochen alumni Dane Laffrey and Michael Arden following the Oct. 25 preview event for the duo’s latest production, "Once on this Island." Once roommates at Interlochen, Michael, the director, and Dane, the scenic designer, are frequent collaborators on stages both on and off Broadway. Their interpretation of Ahrens and Flaherty’s musical "Once on this Island" opens at Circle in the Square Theatre on Dec. 3. Join Tommy, Michael and Dane for a discussion on working in the round, diversity in theatre and how Interlochen shaped their careers. We focus on "Spring Awakening," Deaf West Theatre's radical reinterpretation of the TONY-winning musical of Frank Wedekind's 1890 play, with director Michael Arden and actors - Alex Boniello, Daniel Durant, Marlee Matlin and Camryn Manheim.
Michael Arden is an actor, musician and stage director. He made his Broadway debut as Tom Sawyer in the 2003 Roundabout and Deaf West revival of Big River. He played the title character in Pippin for the World AIDS Day Broadway benefit concert in November 2004. His regional theatre credits include Pippin, God of Vengeance, Falsettoland, Tom Jones' Harold and Maude, West Side Story, Songs for a New World, The Common Pursuit and The Winter's Tale. He directed Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway revival of Spring Awakening. The production marked his return to Deaf West and featured a cast made up of both deaf and hearing actors, performed simultaneously in American Sign Language and English. On May 3, 2016 Arden received a Tony Award nomination in the category Best Direction of a Musical for his work on the Spring Awakening revival. Listen in to hear Michael and I talk about some things Spring and some things not, like . . . What it was like going to school at Juilliard . . . and how they reacted when he left early. Why there is a great theater scene in Los Angeles. How being a Director has made it both harder and easier for him to work for one as an Actor. What the heck is the Milan Conference and why does it make Spring Awakening ideal for incorporating hearing and deaf actors into the production? How you should wear multiple hats with pride. Dale and Scott were so thrilled to be invited back onboard an RSVP Vacation's cruise--our second this year! This time, we sailed from Seattle to the great state of Alaska with 2,000 of our new best friends, mostly gays, a handful of lesbians, a few transsexuals, and a smattering of breeders, who all seemed to have a blast in this most breath-taking corner of our country. While sailing toward Juneau, we taped this episode in front of a live studio audience in the Queen's Lounge on the great Holland America Oosterdam. Our guests include two beautiful men, a real-life couple, actors and singer Michael Arden, who currently plays Patrick on FX's Anger Management, and Andy Mientus who is best known as Kyle on NBC's Smash. We talked about their hectic lives working on television, creating their cabaret show, working with the Deaf West Theater, thoughts on returning to Broadway, and how they tend to work on their harmonies instead of getting down and dirty. A truly talented and special couple, you'll dig Michael and Andy, and enjoy the inside, behind-the-scenes info...including whether or not "Kyle" and Andy saw that car coming! Plus, the boys were such good sports...they played our Slightly Dirty Gay Password game with two members of our audience, and as usual, hilarity ensued, and everyone walked away with great gift bags from our friends at CockyBoys! This is Part 1. You can get Part 2 when it's released on Thursday, August 1. Plus, take a look at our daily cruise log, where Dale & Scott share with you everything they did on the Alaska cruise last week, including photos and a few videos!
