The 2010's was a memorable decade for the Indians. The team reached the playoffs four times, winning a wild card spot once and three AL East titles. The big years were 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018. 2016 was a magical year as the Indians went all the way to the World Series and reached Game 7 with the game tied in the 9th inning. Some years were tough developmental ones but it was enjoyable to watch young players improve. Star players for the Tribe in the decade included: Matt LaPorta, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jhonny Peralta, Trevor Crowe, Jason Donald, Shelley Duncan (Dave Duncan's son), Andy Marte, Tony Sipp, Chris Perez, Carlos Santana, Jack Hannahan, Michael Brantley, Lonnie Chisenhall, Jim Thome, Corey Kluber, Ubaldo Jimenez, Jason Kipnis, Johnny Damon, Ezequiel Carrera, Josh Tomlin, Zach McAllister, Nick Swisher, Michael Bourn, Jason Giambi, Mike Aviles, Yan Gomes, Kelly Shoppach, Danny Salazar, Trevor Bauer, Carlos Carrasco, Bryan Shaw, David Murphy, Jose Ramirez, Roberto Perez, John Axford, Cody Allen, Francisco Lindor, Gio Urshela, Abraham Almonte, Mike Napoli (Party at Napoli's), Rajai Davis, Tyler Naquin, Coco Crisp, Mike Clevinger, Andrew Miller, Dan Otero, Bradley Zimmer, Jay Bruce, Edwin Encarnacion, Brandon Guyer, Greg Allen, Yonder Alonso, Melky Cabrera, Josh Donaldson, Shane Bieber, Brad Hand, Adam Cimber, Oscar Mercado, Fanmil Reyes, Yasiel Puig, Bobby Bradley, Aaron Civale, Oliver Perez and many more!
Leading Off with Ryan Lewis: A podcast on the Cleveland Indians Podcast
After numerous injuries throughout the season, the Cleveland Indians narrowly missed the playoffs, finishing the year at 93-69. Where does the team go after a disappointing season? On the latest edition of Leading Off, Ryan Lewis and Dan Kadar break down the future of the team. That began this week with the team picking up the option on starting pitcher Corey Kluber while turning them down for second baseman Jason Kipnis and reliever Dan Otero. After starting just seven games in 2019, Kluber will rejoin a packed starting rotation. The loss of Kipnis could lead to a domino effect in the infield where Jose Ramirez moves from third base to second. There are also questions about the outfield where Yasiel Puig is a free agent, and where the Indians want to try Franmil Reyes in right field. The overarching storyline for the Indians for the next two years, though, will be what happens with superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor. Is it too early to consider what the Indians will do with the All-Star? There are also some thoughts on Yu Chang and Bobby Bradley fit in the offense, how the outfield could shape up now that Bradley Zimmer is back and much more.

Sooooo...you could say the Indians took care of business on Wednesday night. But 24 hours earlier—you know, back when they weren't putting up 19 runs—a lackluster start to the 9th inning by closer Cody Allen, a miscommunication between manager Terry Francona and pitching coach Carl Willis, and a bad matchup for reliever Dan Otero turned a fine night at the ballpark into downright ugly loss, bringing out the boo birds at Progressive Field. It was called the nadir of the season for the team's beleaguered bullpen, and aggravation is mounting amongst the Tribe faithful. A talented-but-flawed Indians roster continues to trudge through the season in first place in the AL Central, but clearly is a step behind the rest of the league's top teams. What is the Tribe front office waiting for? The guys discuss that, as well as Travis' adventures at the AAA Home Run Derby in Columbus on Monday night. ….
