Hace más o menos 100 años aparecieron en España un buen número de narradoras, poetas y ensayistas que eclosionaron en plena postguerra, alrededor de 1950, por eso convenimos en llamarlos “Generación de los 50”. Marcados por las secuelas de la Guerra Civil Española, aunque no participaron directamente en ella, vivieron sus consecuencias y eso tiene claro reflejo en su obra, mostrándonos la España de la posguerra con una mirada ética y socialmente comprometida. Novelistas como Joan Marsé, Ana María Matute, Carmen Martin Gaite, Rafael Sánchez Ferlosio, Juan García Hortelano o Ignacio Aldecoa, entre otros, y poetas como Gloria Fuertes, Blas de Otero, Gil de Biedma, José Agustín Goytisolo, José Hierro, Carlos Barral, Ángel González, Julia Uceda y muchos más… Es de estos de los que hoy queremos ocuparnos. Una generación de poetas burgueses y universitarios, que desarrollaron su obra en la cruel postguerra franquista. Jaime Gil de Biedma dio su aguda y ácida visión definiendo al grupo como “señoritos de nacimiento y, por mala conciencia, escritores de poesía social”. Con permiso de Gil de Biedma, nos permitimos añadir que lo hicieron siempre sin renunciar a la belleza estética, utilizando un lenguaje pulcro, elegante y accesible. Desde luego, cada uno tiene su particular estilo pero en general se puede definir esta generación como un grupo que prefiere el intimismo próximo a la poesía del gran Antonio Machado, con un estilo coloquial, que utiliza la ironía e incluso la reflexión metafísica, huyendo del lenguaje impostado y solemne tan habitual en la literatura oficial de aquellos años. Quizá por eso la poesía de esta generación ha sido especialmente trasladada o adaptada en canciones posteriores por cantautores como Paco Ibáñez, Ismael, Raimon, Serrat, Sabina, Loquilllo y otros tantos que han demostrado la rica conexión entre poesía y música popular en la segunda mitad del siglo pasado.
