He talks about Pete DeBoer's comments after the game and how he has never seen anything like this before. Gavin tells it like it is, the Stars are showing no energy on the ice and they have no net presence on offense or defense. During this 7 game losing streak, they have lost to 5 non playoff teams. The Regular Season was a success and now the Knicks turn to the Playoffs where the expectations have been raised significantly compared to past seasons, and the guys wonder what type of scrutiny will come upon this team if they don't live up to expectations.
Spring practice is in the books and the transfer portal has reopened, which means it's time to assess where Ohio State stands in its quest to compete for another championship in 2025.While only one of us would say we're more confident in Ohio State's championship chances coming out of spring than we were going in, Eleven Warriors‘ Dan Hope and Andy Anders both agree that there's a lot to like about the Buckeyes based on what we saw this spring. Ohio State is loaded with offensive skill position talent and its defensive back seven looks like it should rank among the nation's best once again. Ohio State's offensive line also looks to be on a promising trajectory coming out of spring.Strong showings by Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz in the spring game left us feeling better about Ohio State's quarterbacks than we did just one day before, but the spring game exacerbated our concerns about Ohio State's depth at defensive tackle, the position that stands out as the Buckeyes' clear-cut top priority for adding to its roster in the post-spring transfer window. On this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays, we make our assessments for what we think the Buckeyes' biggest strengths and biggest areas of concern are coming out of spring and make our early predictions for what Ohio State's regular-season record will be in 2025.The full rundown for this week's show:0:00 Are You More, Less or Just As Confident in Ohio State's Championship Chances After Spring?6:56 Ohio State is Absolutely Loaded with Playmakers at the Offensive Skill Positions12:29 Ohio State's Defensive Back Seven Looks Ready to Be Elite Once Again21:00 Buckeyes Building A Strong Core Along Offensive Line26:44 Ohio State Quarterbacks Finish Up-and-Down Spring on High Note in Spring Game33:55 Defensive Line Lacks Established Stars and Needs to Add Talent at Tackle43:34 Replacing Departed Leaders, Coordinators Still A Big Question Exiting Spring51:40 Why We're Both Predicting A 10-2 Regular Season for Ohio State in 2025

Tuesday afternoon means a fresh episode of Oilersnation Radio has been recorded, edited, and is set to massage your ear feelings. On this week's podcast, the guys discussed a potential Darnell Nurse suspension, Monday's loss to the L.A. Kings, and much more. The boys started the Tuesday podcast with a delicious debate about whether Darnell Nurse should and will be suspended after the incident with Quinton Byfield, which resulted in a crosscheck to the head. Depending on how you look at the situation, the NHL has different routes to discipline Darnell Nurse, and the debate revolved around whether or not he will be suspended. As you'll hear, everyone's opinion on the matter was all over the map.Changing gears, we looked back on Monday's loss to the Kings and how Philip Danault felt the Oilers were icing their B-squad and trying to hurt the opposing players. As much as Danault's comments weren't necessarily wrong, it was pretty funny that he didn't acknowledge the very real string of injuries Edmonton is working through. Even with McDavid saying the team isn't the 'walking wounded' this morning after practice, the reality is that the Oilers had nine regulars out of the lineup for Monday's game.Sticking with the game against Los Angeles, we also discussed Quinn Hutson's NHL debut and how it was a cool moment for a young man who signed an ELC only days before suiting up for the Oilers. Despite playing just over 14 minutes in his debut, the guys discussed Hutson's ceiling and whether or not this is a prospect worth following. We also wondered how Hutson ranks among the other prospects the Oilers have signed in the last few weeks, and if these scratch tickets can do enough to bolster the Oilers' thin depth chart. Finally, we wrapped up the Tuesday episode of ONR with some predictions about where Evander Kane might play when he returns and playoff betting talk before winding down with some game expectations for Wednesday's season finale against the San Jose Sharks. As always, the first episode of Oilersnation Radio of the week is always a fun one to record, and it was exciting to finally be talking about the playoffs after what has been a slog of a regular season.
