J.P. Devine recalls how the notion of the male "breadwinner" changed for him at a young age and how women are increasingly stepping up.
Under the most trying of circumstances, recruiting in the college football world continues to happen. Husky fans are lamenting the fact that one of Washington's top wide receiver targets, Troy Franklin, is likely headed to Oregon while simultaneously being happy that local four-star linebacker Will Latu will make his decision known on Father's Day (June 21st). This has been the weirdest recruiting cycle to cover in the 24 years of Dawgman.com and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight although there are some rumors about things opening up a bit during the month of July for some in-person evaluations to happen. Dawgman.com's Scott Eklund and Chris Fetters discuss several pieces of news, including the impending commitments of Latu and Franklin as well as the acquisition by Washington of JUCO tight end Quentin Moore late last month and why he was so highly-coveted only a year removed from the completion of his prep career at Inglemoor (Kenmore, Wa.) High School. They also talk about why the Huskies and Oregon have butted heads quite a bit on the recruiting trail this cycle and if it will be a regular occurrence and what to look for over the next couple of months as football players and coaches return to campus and get to work. AULC Ministries - A Ministry of Athens Universal Life Church
A Father's Day Sermon by Rev. Dr. Rob White for the AULC Ministries
Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there! My dad was always there......My Dad was always there! This morning I want to share with you a story that Pastor Leonard Navarre shared with me....Many years ago, I was teaching a class at a Bible college. I was facing the back door to the classroom. It was open, giving me a view across the hall to the door to the Men’s Restroom. A few minutes into the presentation, the bathroom door flew open and there stood my youth minister’s son with his britches and underwear around his ankles. With this panic look on his face, he screamed, “DAD I NEED YOU!” That is a slogan and cry from every child today, DAD WE NEED YOU! So what do we need? Ephesians 4:1 gives a glimpse into the desires of our families today. It states, “live a life worthy of the calling”, (AMP).

A sermon on the role of men in our community by Pastor Dennis Webber, Lead Pastor at Parkway Christian Center in Grants Pass, Oregon
Father's DaySummary - Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. Titus 3:1-8 Resources - CG Guide

The Bible has a lot to say about what God expects out of His children. It is time for men to rise up and be the courageous Christian examples that they were created to be by God. In this broken society, we must build up our boys to be mature masculine men who are devoted to prayer and the scriptures.
Join us as we conclude the sermon series called, "Imperfect Heroes".
Father's Day - June 18th, 2017 by Calling Community Church
We celebrate Father's this Father's Day with the message given by Captain Jonathan Cooper.
There was no episode last week. I had an emergency eye procedure that Monday - the regular day I record the show and Tuesday was my son's high school graduation. With family in town and trying to recover health wise. I just couldn't find/make time to record the show. Now on the this week's episode... As mentioned earlier, my son graduated from high school this week and this Sunday is Father's Day (June 19th). I wanted to reflect on how my grief affects my ability to appreciate/celebrate holidays and life's milestones. Please rate and review in iTunes - Thanks!
