Pastor Shawn and Jill Johnson from Red Rocks Church are back for their fourth appearance, and things get real fast — from the legendary canoe trip where Shawn sat on a dead mouse for four hours, to the honest, hard-won wisdom they've collected after nearly three decades of marriage. Levi and Jennie swap notes with the Johnsons on keeping it flirty, surviving hard seasons, knowing when comfort tips into neglect, and the "final draft" language that changed how Shawn and Jill communicate. Plus: Red Rocks Church's sold-out 20th anniversary service at Red Rocks Amphitheater, a son DJing his second-ever gig on that same stage, and Jill's surprisingly sweet trick for reconnecting with why she fell in love in the first place. Parenting doesn't happen by accident; every child is being formed, either with intention or by default. Pastor Shawn challenges us to shape the next generation in wisdom, identity, relationships, and faith, while reminding us that our influence is greatest when we model what we hope to see in them.
Week 11 of our Ephesians series brings us to Ephesians 6:10–20 and Paul's reminder that the battle is real—but we were never meant to fight it in our own strength. God equips His people to stand firm against the spiritual forces and worldly principles that oppose His truth and pull us away from His Word. In this message, we'll see how true strength comes from the Lord and how a life of prayer helps us remain faithful and steadfast in the fight.
We're in week 10 of our Ephesians series bringing us to Ephesians 5:22–6:4 as we continue exploring how the Gospel shapes everyday life and relationships. In this message, we take a look at God's design for the home and the practical instruction Paul gives to families. Through this passage, we're reminded that Christ-centered relationships are built on love, honor, humility, and obedience to God. Join us as we continue our journey through the book of Ephesians, one chapter at a time.
What if the problem in our conflict is deeper than the argument itself? Pastor Shawn teaches from the book of James on the desires that drive our fights and the humility that allows God's grace to restore our relationships.
This week in our journey through Ephesians, we're diving into chapter 4 and what it means to be a family that works together. God has uniquely designed each of us with a role to play, gifts to grow, and a purpose that strengthens the Church. When we learn to serve together in unity, we begin to reflect the fullness of Christ in a powerful way.
This week, Pastor Shawn continues our sermon series on the books of 1, 2, & 3 John with a message about spiritual maturity!
This week, Pastor Shawn continues our "Living Proof" series with the beginning of 1 John 2!
Pastor Shawn, Jacob, and Pastor Marco discuss how everyday actions sow seeds that later produce impact, including Pastor Marco's Mexico missions detour where the team blessed an 18-year-old named Christian and helped reunite him with his praying mother, and Jacob's testimony of leading worship that planted faith in his mom and family, leading to prayer and her confession of Jesus before she passed. They share examples of unseen influence, children grasping that God's love is free, and the importance of passing obedience and honor to the next generation. The conversation highlights Galatians 6:7, faithful sowing in small acts, and unexpected provision.
While sin is part of the human experience, generational patterns of sin can often feel overwhelming to confront. Pastor Shawn reminds us that although these patterns can run deep in our families, God's love runs deeper still and is powerful enough to break them.

Week 7 of our series centers on a call to live out our faith with intention, rooted in Ephesians 4:1–10. We look at how humility keeps us teachable, gentleness expresses strength with restraint, and patience helps us speak truth with care and timing. Together, these practices form the foundation for lasting unity in our relationships. Where might one of these be inviting growth in your life this week?
God never intended for us to simply survive or arrive; spiritual growth is a lifelong journey of becoming who He created us to be in Christ. Pastor Shawn challenges us to seek out people who can pour wisdom into our lives, while also stepping up to mentor and encourage others so that what God pours into us can flow through us.
This week, Pastor Shawn dives into the first four verses of 1 John as we continue our new series, "Living Proof"!
Jesus both commanded and modeled baptism, yet insecurities and questions can keep us from taking this step of obedience. Pastor Shawn unpacks how baptism symbolizes burying your old self so you can be raised to new life.
The Book of Ephesians teaches that through Christ, God unites all people into one body, the Church, calling believers to live in unity, love, and spiritual maturity. This week, we explore the mystery of Christ and our participation in the promise of salvation.
This week, Pastor Shawn kicks off our new series, Living Proof, on 1, 2, & 3 John!
This Easter message revisits Ephesians 1 & 2, exploring the resurrection not as a question, but as a finished work already settled by God. “So Be It” invites us to see how what was once dead is now made alive through a power that has already spoken the final word. In light of that truth, we learn to live from a place of agreement with what God has already declared—so be it.
In Week 4 of our Ephesians series, we dive into Ephesians 2:11–22 with the message “We Belong To Each Other.” Once banished and far from God, we've now been brought near through Christ—reminding us that salvation isn't just personal, it's familial. God is building us together into His church, where we're called to gather, grow, give, and go as one. You don't just belong to God—you belong with His people.

God's desire is to reconcile the entire world together in Christ. This week, we explore Ephesians 2:1-10 as we understand that salvation is more than just affiliation; it's about transformation.
On this episode of In The Room we have Pastor Shawn, Jonah, and Pastor Marco discussing “clogged pipelines” that keep prayers from being effective, prompting a heart check for issues like rebellion, unforgiveness, wrong motives, and unrepented sin. They emphasize prayer as essential to relationship with God and reference John 16:24 about asking in Jesus' name. Jonah shares how God quickly provided a reliable car after a breakdown, highlighting gratitude and contentment, while Pastor Marco recalls his daughter's illness and the encouragement of church intercession. The group explains general prayer, supplication, and intercessory prayer, stresses praying together, and talks about trusting God's timing, including when the answer is “no.” Thank you all for joining us, have a blessed day!
Greed is often easier to see in others than in ourselves, yet our culture constantly pressures us to believe that what we have is never enough. Through the story of the rich fool, Pastor Shawn reminds us that a truly full life comes not from accumulating more, but from recognizing God as our source, giving Him our first, and living rich toward Him rather than toward possessions.
We're beginning a new series through the book of Ephesians by looking at the incredible blessings we have in Christ. Every spiritual blessing begins with the Father, is made possible through the Son, and flows into our lives through God's grace—bringing true peace with Him. This includes the gift of salvation which is offered to all, and each of us must decide how we will respond.

Join us for a 5-part series as we learn to live as people in the Kingdom of God.
We live in a world where knowledge is easily accessible, yet often left unapplied. As the new year begins, Pastor Shawn explores the parable of the two houses in the book of Matthew, reminding us that true wisdom is found not just in what we know, but in how we live it out.
In this message titled Living Without Walls, Pastor Shawn explores the book of Nehemiah and the reality of Jerusalem's broken walls, which left the city vulnerable to invasion and outside influence. Throughout this series, we have learned that an altar is a place where people surrendered, and in that place of surrender and obedience, God would meet them there. Pastor Shawn shows us how living a life of sacrifice is not one of God taking things from us, but rather forming something deeper within us.
Gratitude is more than a feeling, it's a response to God's goodness in our lives. Pastor Shawn uses the life of Noah to illustrate how true, expressed gratitude moves the heart of God.
