Fran Drescher is an actress, author, philanthropist, and a leading health advocate. She currently stars as Los Angeles florist Fran in TV Land's new sitcom ‘Happily Divorced.' Written by Fran Drescher (‘The Nanny‘) and Peter Marc Jacobson (‘The Nanny‘), ‘Happily Divorced‘ is inspired by Fran Drescher's real life experience and follows Los Angeles florist Fran, whose 18-year marriage ends suddenly when her husband announces he's gay. Fran received two Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as the lovable Miss Fine on the hit CBS series ‘The Nanny,' a show she also created, wrote, directed and executive produced.She is the author of Enter Whining and Cancer Schmancer; both of which made the New York Times Best Seller list. Fran is a cancer survivor of 12 years. A leading health advocate, Fran is the President and visionary of the Cancer Schmancer Movement. She was instrumental in getting the United States' first Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act passed into law and is now working with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention to use the appropriated funds to best reach all women.
