Could mould be the missing piece in persistent fatigue, brain fog, sinus issues, skin flare ups or gut dysfunction? In this episode, we're joined by Emily, our clinical Naturopath at Pure Health, to unpack the often confusing world of mould related illness. We explore what mould and mycotoxins actually are, where exposure can occur and why one person may become unwell while others in the same environment experience no symptoms at all.We also discuss:The signs that prompt us to investigate mould exposureWhy your home or workplace history mattersThe wide range of symptoms associated with mould related illnessVCS screening, urinary mycotoxin testing and environmental testingOur clinical approach, from reducing exposure and supporting elimination to rebuilding gut, immune and nervous system healthWhy binders and “detox” protocols aren't appropriate for everyoneMould can be a significant contributor to chronic illness, but it isn't the answer for every person or every symptom. There is no single test that tells the whole story, and successful treatment almost always begins with identifying and addressing the source of exposure. If you've ever wondered whether mould could be affecting your health or you're struggling to improve despite doing “all the right things”, this episode will help you understand what to investigate and where to begin.Let's stay connectedFollow us behind the scenes on Instagram:@purehealthwellnesshubapp@purehealthnutrition_@purehealthnutritionclinic

You need to see this before the next wave of “miracles” hits your feed. A Los Angeles “apostle” named Kathryn Krick just held a book signing in Texas for her new release “Ignite Revival,” and the videos are everywhere. People collapsing, shaking, convulsing as she prays over them and signs copies. Her Five-Fold Church has half a million Instagram followers and a growing TikTok presence built on dramatic deliverance and healing clips. Supporters call it the power of God. Christian leaders are calling it something closer to a cult. Krick credits a Tanzanian mentor for her ability to cast out demons and perform healings, while dismissing the criticism as jealousy. Meanwhile, regular Americans watching these clips are left asking the same question: Why does this “anointing” look so different from every other healing they've seen? You're worried about your health? Good! It's great to want to take care of yourself. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't do intuitive eating. Intuitive eating is all about honoring your health in ways that are effective and sustainable. And if you've been doing intuitive eating and your health is getting worse, then we need to take a look at what's going on. Sometimes it's about playing the long game and working through all the deprivation that dieting caused, and letting yourself have those formerly forbidden foods a lot before you find balance with your eating again. Sometimes it's about your body letting you know that it needs some "gentle nutrition" support which is literally one of the principles of intuitive eating! Rather than panicking and going back to dieting (which is only a temporary "fix" that usually makes things worse) - you need to get curious, lean into how to respect your body's needs while reprogramming your mind to let go of the old diet culture rules and judgments. All of this is easier said than done, I totally get it. In this episode I'll give you some really practical examples of things you can do to support your health, and how to navigate this in conjunction with using intuitive eating to make peace with food and your body. Episode Highlights -The illusion of control that dieting is giving you…and why it backfires for your health. -What to do if your health is getting worse with intuitive eating. -Examples of specific health conditions and how to approach it as an intuitive eater, while getting healthier. -A 3-step journaling exercise that will help you pinpoint what exactly YOU need to do for your health starting TODAY that doesn't require you to go back to dieting or restricting. Your body contains approximately 100 different types of minerals, but most people are deficient or imbalanced, leading to symptoms like brain fog, lethargy, irregular sleep patterns, and even reduced sex drive. Yet, mineral supplementation remains neglected – mostly because people don't realize how easy it is.Finally, someone is talking about mineral replenishment!Containing each of the minerals the body needs for optimal function, BEAM Minerals restores cellular energy, allowing the body to gain and maintain healthy balance. On this episode we spend some time with a special guest, who has been coined, The Mineral Geek.Caroline Alan is a health survivor, mineral expert, and educator on a mission to redefine how we think about cellular health. After a high-pressure career in tech left her physically and mentally depleted, her healing journey led to the discovery of plant-based minerals and their powerful role in restoring the body's natural balance. Her experience sparked deep research into human physiology and the science of humic and fulvic substances.Today, as Co-Founder and CEO of BEAM Minerals, Caroline, affectionately known as “The Mineral Geek,” shares this life changing knowledge with clarity, science, and heart, empowering others to take charge of their wellness at the cellular level.Talking Points:More than 30 trillion cells in the body: Minerals are required in the life cycle of a cell and to function properly.Without minerals the cells struggle to complete basic functions. We tend to think of illness as something wrong with an organ or a system of the body, rather than a symptom of depletion at the cellular level. Many chronic health issues are rooted in mineral depletion.Learn more by visiting Beamminerals.comLearn more about the Mineral Reset Book

Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Dr. Melanye “Dr. Mac.” Maclin joins Rushion McDonald to discuss the serious health risks associated with hair relaxers, permanent dyes, and synthetic braids—particularly among Black women. Drawing from over 25 years of research and patient experience, she explains how chemicals used in these products absorb through the scalp, disrupt hormones, and significantly increase the risks of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, early puberty, fibroids, and infertility. The conversation also highlights systemic resistance from the beauty industry, government agencies, and even consumers themselves—primarily due to financial incentives and lack of awareness. Dr. Mac advocates for safer hair practices, increased education, and protective measures to reduce exposure. She also discusses her pioneering internal hair‑health supplements, Bella Nutri, for women (2004) and men (2008), and how she helped introduce the U.S. market to nutritional hair support long before it was mainstream. Purpose of the Interview The purpose of the interview is to: 1. Educate listeners about the hidden health dangers …of chemical hair treatments including relaxers, permanent dyes, and synthetic hair containing benzene. 2. Advocate for informed hair‑care decisions Dr. Mac wants women—especially Black women—to understand how beauty practices impact long‑term health. 3. Encourage the beauty industry to adopt safety protocols Such as scalp protection, warning labels, and honest communication about risks. 4. Highlight Dr. Mac’s work and products Including her Bella Nutri supplements and educational platforms (Ask Dr. Mac). 5. Empower parents to protect children By avoiding chemical treatments on young girls whose bodies are especially vulnerable. Key Takeaways 1. Chemical relaxers and permanent hair dyes are strongly linked to increased cancer risks. Permanent dyes raise the risk of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancer. Black women exhibit a 45% increased risk of breast cancer when using permanent dyes. Combining dyes with relaxers significantly compounds the danger. 2. The danger comes from chemical absorption into the scalp. Relaxer chemicals include sodium, calcium, guanine, and lithium hydroxide. These chemicals burn through the scalp, entering the bloodstream and disrupting hormones, leading to early puberty, fibroids, infertility, and cancer. 3. Synthetic braiding hair contains benzene—a carcinogen. Benzene exposure affects both the stylist and the client. Risks include lung cancer and leukemia. 4. The beauty industry resists change because of profit. Salons rarely display warnings because “it affects business.” The relaxer–damage→hair‑loss→extensions cycle creates a lucrative revenue loop. 5. Children are especially vulnerable to chemical exposure. Relaxers on children under 10 can cause: early puberty fibroids infertility early hysterectomies increased cancer risk Dr. Mac advises never relaxing a child’s hair, but if done, the product must stay on no more than 5–10 minutes with complete scalp protection. 6. Scalp protection is essential for anyone still using relaxers. Use petroleum jelly over the entire scalp, not just the hairline. This reduces chemical absorption during both application and rinsing. 7. Dr. Mac pioneered the U.S. hair‑supplement industry. Developed Bella Nutri after research with a Finnish company (Scalp). Initially dismissed as a “witch doctor,” but now the hair‑supplement market is mainstream. 8. She refuses to participate in relaxer‑related lawsuits. Because she has warned people for 20+ years, she cannot ethically testify for those who ignored repeated warnings. Notable Quotes On the impact of chemicals: “The chemicals burn through the scalp… getting into the main bloodstream and causing hormone disruption.” On the increased cancer risk: “African‑Americans have a more than 45% increased risk when we use permanent hair dyes.” On synthetic braids: “As long as that synthetic hair is on her head, she is breathing in benzene.” On industry pushback: “People are about the green‑eyed devil called money.” On relaxing children’s hair: “Hopefully a mother doesn’t take her child to get a relaxer.” “Hair chemicals can lead to early puberty, fibroids, infertility, even hysterectomies before age 40.” On the vicious cycle of damage and profit: “It’s a 360‑degree money‑making cycle.” On caring more than her patients: “I feel like I’m caring more about someone’s health than they are caring about their own.” On pioneering supplements: “Hair and skin are internal organs—they manifest externally.” #SHMS #STRAW #BESTSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In this episode, Ash and Dusty discuss the important topic of when worsening ADHD symptoms may actually be caused or worsened by other physiological or medical conditions. They explore how hormonal changes related to PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, and menopause can significantly impact cognition, mood, and executive function. Dusty shares her personal experience with PMDD and how medication has been life-changing in managing symptoms that overlap with ADHD but require different treatment approaches. They also highlight other health issues such as anemia, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), hypermobility disorders like Ehlers-Danlos, TMJ, migraines, and sleep disruptions that can mimic or exacerbate ADHD symptoms. The hosts emphasize the importance of recognizing these co-occurring or separate conditions and how ADHD coaching can support managing them by focusing on follow-through, executive functioning, and problem-solving rather than "coaching out" chronic illness itself. Ash and Dusty encourage listeners to advocate for themselves with healthcare providers, get regular checkups, and explore potential underlying causes when symptoms suddenly worsen. They also caution against dismissing new or worsening symptoms as just ADHD and stress the value of integrated care between medical treatment and coaching to improve overall functioning and quality of life. Anthony Leahey joins Locked In with Ian Bick to share his story of growing up in the foster care system after being put up for adoption as a baby, nearly finding a stable home before being taken back and moved to Florida, where his life began to spiral. As a teenager, Anthony got into trouble and spent time in both youth and adult prisons in Florida before returning to New Jersey at 21, where a murder charge led to a 30-year sentence in state prison. In this episode, he talks about what led him down that path, what life was really like serving decades behind bars, and how he completely changed his life while incarcerated. Anthony also shares how he was given a second chance through clemency from the governor, the powerful moment of receiving forgiveness from the victim's family, and the lessons he learned through it all. _____________________________________________ #PrisonStory #30Years #TrueCrime #PrisonLife #ExInmate #LockedUp #SurvivalStory #LockedInPodcast _____________________________________________ Connect with Anthony Leahey: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/infamouslifersgroup YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-R_-vNzaXM _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Shop Locked In Merch: http://www.ianbick.com/shop _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 From Foster Care to Prison (Full Story) 02:59 Childhood Trauma, Foster Care & Early Loss 07:02 Group Homes & Struggling as a Kid 10:08 From Juvenile Trouble to Florida Prison 15:55 Life in Prison as a Teen 21:52 Prison Violence, Survival & Sports 30:03 Release & Struggles Returning to New Jersey 34:03 Bad Decisions, Peer Pressure & Felony Charges 43:41 Arrest, Court & Taking Accountability 48:50 Forgiveness, Growth & Restorative Justice 01:03:27 Clemency & Getting a Second Chance 01:10:42 Reentry & Emotional Impact After Prison 01:18:01 Prison Advocacy & The Lifers Group 01:44:03 Health Issues & Problems in the Prison System 01:58:18 Life After Prison & Job Struggles 02:06:08 Advice, Lessons & Final Thoughts To advertise on the show, contact sales@advertisecast.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/LockedInWithIanBicka Learn more about your ad choices. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Robin Wilson. Topic: Clean Design, wellness, asthma and allergy–aware livingFeatured Work: Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle Robin Wilson, a clean design lifestyle expert and founder of the Clean Design Home brand, joins Rushion McDonald to discuss how everyday household choices directly impact health—particularly for people living with asthma, allergies, and chronic inflammation. Drawing from her personal experiences as a lifelong allergy and asthma sufferer, Wilson explains how creating an allergen-aware home can dramatically improve quality of life. Purpose of the Interview The primary purpose of the interview is to: Educate listeners about how indoor environments contribute to asthma, allergies, and chronic health issues Promote Robin Wilson’s Clean Design philosophy and book, which provides room-by-room guidance for creating healthier homes Raise awareness that simple, practical lifestyle changes—not expensive renovations—can significantly improve wellness Normalize conversations around asthma, allergies, and environmental triggers as serious, manageable health conditions Rushion also uses the platform to share his own deeply personal experiences with allergic reactions, reinforcing the life-changing importance of Wilson’s message.. Key Takeaways 1. Your Home Should Be a Breathing Sanctuary Wilson emphasizes that many people focus on outdoor allergens while overlooking indoor exposure. Shoes, coats, pillows, furniture, and bedding often trap pollen, bacteria, and toxins that worsen symptoms once brought indoors.. 2. Pillows and Bedding Are Major Health Triggers One of the most memorable segments centers on pillows: Many people keep pillows for six years or more Old pillows accumulate dander, pollen, drool, bacteria, and allergens A pillow that stays folded is a sign it needs to be replaced Wilson introduces her “rule of threes”: Wash pillowcases every three weeks Wash pillow protectors every three months Replace pillows every three years Rushion shares that replacing a problematic pillow helped eliminate a chronic cough that seriously affected his life.. 3. “Allergen-Aware” Is More Honest Than “Hypoallergenic” Wilson avoids the term hypoallergenic because allergies vary from person to person. Instead, she advocates for ingredient transparency, empowering consumers to decide what is safe for their bodies and homes.. 4. Small Habits Create Big Health Outcomes Key daily practices include: Removing shoes immediately upon entering the home Washing hands before eating Changing clothes after being outdoors Cleaning from the top down (ceiling fans, surfaces, floors) Protecting mattresses and pillows with zippered covers Wilson stresses that consistency—not perfection—is what reduces exposure over time.. 5. Asthma Is a Serious Chronic Condition Wilson compares asthma management to diabetes care: It requires ongoing lifestyle adjustments Ignoring triggers increases the risk of severe attacks Clean environments reduce flare-ups and emergency situations She explains that nighttime asthma and allergy attacks often occur when cortisol levels drop during sleep, allowing reactions to surface.. 6. The Book Is a Practical, Room-by-Room Guide Clean Design: Wellness for Your Lifestyle is designed as a reference guide, not a cover-to-cover read. It addresses: Entryways and living rooms Bedrooms and nurseries Kitchens and bathrooms Home offices, basements, garages, and outdoor spaces Wilson also includes low-toxicity cleaning tips inspired by her grandmother, such as using baking soda, toothpaste, and even Coca-Cola instead of harsh chemicals.. Notable Quotes “One in five people suffer from asthma or allergies… and the home should be a sanctuary for easy breathing.”. “Break up with your pillow.”. “You might be allergic outside—and then come inside and double your allergen load.”.t “Asthma is like diabetes. If you manage the triggers, you reduce the risk of a serious episode.”. “It’s all about effort and consistency.”. #SHMS #BEST #STRAWSteve Harvey Morning Show Online: http://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
