One moment a man is -breathing threats and murder- against the church, the next he has joined the church and is proclaiming Jesus to be the Christ, the Son of the living God. This is the story of Saul - Christ's chosen instrument. How can a person be transformed so radically and so thoroughly- The simple answer is- he met the risen Lord Jesus. -Paul's own testimony is that he received the mercy of God and the grace of Christ. The same mercy and grace have been lavished upon us, upon all whom God has called and chosen. This is our story as well. Be sure to meet with the merciful and gracious Lord today-
Elder L. Brown encouraged believers to prepare for Christ return.
Fasting is not an idea of man, it's God's idea. God has something to say on how we should engage in fasting. There are benefits in doing God's chosen fast; the God kind of fast brings personal change of stories, notable proofs and tangible results that cannot be denied.
Fasting is an aspect of sacrifice. When fasting, you put yourself in a state of discomfort with one main purpose; to seek the face of God and call upon the name of the Lord. When you engage in God's chosen fast, it brings to bear the hand of God in a very colourful way.
God chooses fasting; fasting is good and makes a difference in your life. When you fast in God's style, God causes things to turn around. When you engage in God's chosen fast, no force can stop your light from breaking through.

This Sunday we look at the application of Yahweh's incomparably character and power as that which stands at the heart of the covenant which He made with His people, and how God's character and power are to shape the way Israel thought of themselves, the nations around them and how they were to be a people wholly other from the nations of the earth, and wholly devoted to being unique throughout all the earth. An incomparable God who calls and leads an uncommon people, this who Israel was to be and the Church even to this day.

Long before they became largely ceremonial, and the preferred location for time capsules locking in treasures from the past, cornerstones actually played an important part in the construction of a building. When Peter and John were hauled before the Hight Priest, the rulers and the elders to explain how the crippled man at the Temple Gate was healed, he quoted this familiar verse to them from Psalm 118. Since it was so well known, why did they rulers reject our promised Savior?

Today is the fifth Sunday in Lent, we are continuing in Mark chapter 11. Yesterday, Jesus turned over the tables in the Temple and announced God's judgment on it. Now the chief priests and teachers of the law are angry, and they will begin to challenge him in public.
Steve Smith :: Creekside Church :: Sunday, January 24, 2021 In Matthew 12:15-21, Jesus flees in the face of mounting opposition to His message, but He withdraws not out of fear, but rather in order to fulfill prophecy from Isaiah, which establishes the Messiah as not only the King of Israel but Lord of the nations. In Pastor Steve’s message, both Jesus’ retreat and His recalling of Isaiah’s prophecy serve to confirm Him as God’s chosen servant, challenging us to accept Him as Savior and compel us to live as He did.
