In this message, Pastor Noel explores Acts 17, following Paul's journey through Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens. He highlights a central tension for modern believers: the discipline of keeping one eye on the Word of God and the other on the World. By examining Paul's varying approaches—from intellectual reasoning in the synagogues to repurposing cultural philosophy in the Areopagus. Over the course of several missionary journeys, the Apostle Paul walked countless miles of Roman roads, carrying the Gospel in his heart like an Olympian bearing a torch. The 2025 Greece/Rome Signature Tour followed those footsteps chronologically, tracing Paul's path through some of Scripture's most compelling cities and accounts. Join Rich Ferreira and Jerrell Jobe as they reflect on the journey, from its beginning in Kavala (Acts 16), through Philippi, Thessaloniki (Thessalonica), Berea, Athens, Corinth, and finally, Rome.Building on Philippi's history as a status-driven Roman city, Jerrell then unpacks Philippians 2 and explores what it truly meant for Christ to “become a servant.”Studying Scripture in this way brings the Bible to life—real people in real places in real time—causing the stories to leap off the page! In this episode of The Burros of Berea, I sat down with Brad Robertson, founder of Grace Reach, whose journey from traditional church life through burnout, hyper dispensationalism, and ultimately into fulfilled eschatology is as honest as it is compelling. Brad shares how a lifelong passion for Scripture was nearly buried beneath what he calls “toxic discipleship,” a system that emphasizes spiritual performance over the finished work of Christ. His rediscovery of the gospel of grace radically reshaped not only his theology, but his understanding of discipleship, covenant, and the character of God Himself. This conversation traces how grace, not effort, brought clarity, freedom, and renewal to his faith, and why so many believers have never truly heard the gospel even after years in church. What makes this episode especially powerful to me personally is how Brad connects fulfilled eschatology to real life application. Rather than treating Revelation as a battleground of charts and timelines, he shows how it proclaims the gospel from beginning to end. The New Heaven and New Earth are not distant abstractions, but the present reality of God dwelling with His people, the water of life flowing through the open gates to heal the nations. Brad's vision challenges both futurists and preterists to recover the heart of the message: freedom from law based religion, confidence in Christ's finished work, and a faith that transforms how we love God and others. This is not just a theological discussion. It is an invitation to rediscover joy, assurance, and purpose in Christ today! Episode Synopsis:About the time Paul began his second missionary journey, a serious famine swept through Palestine–greatly impacting the Jerusalem church. Those who lived in the region knew how serious such things could be and so they prepared for it–stockpiling grain, spices, and animal feed, etc. But as soon as a church was organized in Jerusalem–after Pentecost–Jewish Christians found themselves cut off from the synagogue and its well-established relief system. Now on their own, the Jewish Christians in Jerusalem were apparently suffering horribly and were in desperate need of relief–specifically funds to buy food and supplies locally.Tensions between Jewish Christians and recent Gentile converts to Christianity were apparent from the moment the gospel spread into Gentile regions–as indicated during the Jerusalem Council (Acts 15). At that council, the church renounced the Judaizers and affirmed that God had blessed Paul's efforts to take the gospel into Gentile regions–which began in earnest after the Macedonian vision (Acts 16:9). Paul planted churches in Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, and Corinth. While these new churches aided and encouraged each other, Paul understood that if the Gentile churches–who had means–took an offering for the Jerusalem church, it would go a great way toward helping fellow Christians in genuine need. It would also de-escalate the worry and anxiety that Jews felt toward Gentiles who were until quite recently godless pagans and often persecutors of the Jewish people. When Paul arrived in Macedonia, he tells us that there was some unspecified serious trouble and that he would strive to get things cleared up before he traveled south to Corinth. Despite the troubles in the churches in Macedonia, they had taken up a surprisingly generous offering for the Jerusalem church–so much so that it was a major sacrifice, even beyond their means, which Paul describes as an act of grace. Now he gets word from Titus that the Corinthians (who had been collecting a similar offering for a year) and had not followed through with their collection. As a congregation they were far better off materially than the Macedonians, but were so distracted by divisions, the subterfuge of false apostles and other matters, the offering had not been finalized. In chapters 8-9 of 2 Corinthians, Paul addresses this matter head-on.For show notes and other recommended materials located at the Riddleblog as mentioned during the Blessed Hope Podcast, click here: https://www.kimriddlebarger.com/
Nick and Jonathan talk about the likelihood of keeping Jim Schwartz in Berea with the Browns amid reports of the Ravens requesting an interview with the Browns defensive coordinator.
The Browns fired head coach Kevin Stefanski, and the Orange and Brown Talk crew is here to break down all the fallout. Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe react to the news from Berea, analyzing the decision to part ways with Stefanski while retaining GM Andrew Berry. They dive into the press conferences by owner Jimmy Haslam and Berry, reading between the lines to understand the real reasons behind the move. Was it simply about the eight wins over two years, or did the front office lose faith in Stefanski's offensive vision? They discuss how Berry's successful 2025 draft and recent trades likely saved his job, but now the pressure is on him more than ever. Looking ahead, the search for a new head coach is on. Will the Browns target an offensive-minded coach to pair with a new quarterback, or promote from within with someone like Jim Schwartz? Plus, what does this mean for the future of Shedeur Sanders? They debates whether Stefanski was dealt a fair hand and what needs to happen next for the Browns to finally turn the corner. Daryl Ruiter joined Ken Carman and Anthony Lima on the Monday following the Browns' week 18 over the Bengals and shared his thoughts on Kevin Stefanski's tenure in Cleveland, whether or not he thinks Stefanski wants to continue coaching the Browns, and why he think Andrew Berry shouldn't be safe even though it appears he is. He discussed whether or not the front office structure in Berea will change and why he thinks Kevin Stefanski has been a scapegoat for the Browns' struggles.
For the final time this season, Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe get you ready for a Browns game as they preview the Week 18 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on the Orange and Brown Talk podcast. The game itself takes a backseat to the much bigger question looming over the franchise: Will Kevin Stefanski return as head coach next season? They try to read the tea leaves and discuss the vibe in Berea that suggests a change could be coming. They explore the different scenarios, including the possibility of promoting defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz to head coach to maintain continuity on the team's best unit and keep rising offensive coordinator Tommy Rees. Is the grass actually greener, or should the Browns stick with what they have despite two losing seasons? Plus, they talk about the one thing that matters on the field: Myles Garrett's chase for the sack record against a familiar foe in Joe Burrow. Lance Reisland joined the show for his final scouting report of the season, breaking down the Bengals' offense and defense and how the Browns can attack them. Lance also makes his pick. To wrap it up, Mary Kay, Ashley and Dan make their final game picks of the season. In this episode of The Burros of Berea, I sit down with Sarah Fisher, the mind and heart behind HebrewWordLessons.com, for one of the most thoughtful and refreshing conversations we have had in a long time. Sarah shares her personal faith journey, how a late-in-life awakening led her to the Hebrew language, and why studying Scripture through its original words transformed the way the Bible came alive for her. What began as a simple tool to help her learn vocabulary became a weekly ministry that pastors, teachers, and everyday Bible readers now rely on. Her humility, curiosity, and deep love for Jesus shine through every part of this discussion, and her insights into Hebrew words like hasatan, malak, ezer, and hesed challenge many assumptions we have carried for years. This conversation goes far beyond word studies. We talk honestly about balancing scholarship and faith, avoiding speculative theology without honoring historical context, and letting the Spirit guide our study instead of turning knowledge into a weapon. Sarah offers wisdom for anyone who feels intimidated by biblical languages, reminding us that not everyone is called to learn Hebrew, but everyone is called to approach Scripture with humility and love. If you care about understanding the Bible more deeply, respecting its ancient worldview, and growing closer to Christ without arrogance or fear, this episode is for you. It is thoughtful, grounded, and deeply encouraging, and I think it is one you will come back to more than once.If you'd like to check out Sarah's website you can click the link below!Hebrew Word Lessons Website: https://hebrewwordlessons.com/

Merry Christmas Burros of Berea listeners! This conversation with Nathan Ward is one of the most heartfelt and grounded testimonies ever shared on The Burros of Berea. What begins as a friendly introduction quickly unfolds into a deeply moving story centered on legacy, faith, and the quiet power of lived Christianity. Nathan's reflections on his grandmother Flora form the emotional backbone of the episode, illustrating how genuine love, sacrificial generosity, and faithfulness can shape generations long before theology ever becomes explicit. His story reminds us that the gospel is often transmitted not through arguments, but through consistent presence, hospitality, and courage in moments of real need. This is an interview filled with memory, grief, gratitude, and hope, told with sincerity rather than polish, which makes it resonate all the more deeply Nathan Ward Interview. As the conversation progresses, the episode naturally moves from testimony into theology, tracing Nathan's journey from inherited tradition through ministry, crisis, and ultimately into fulfilled eschatology. What makes this discussion compelling is its tone. Rather than triumphalism or bitterness, Nathan speaks with humility about being shaped by people who loved God even when their frameworks were incomplete. The dialogue models how theological growth does not have to come at the expense of love for the Church or gratitude for one's spiritual roots. Released on Christmas Day, the interview fittingly closes by reframing the season itself not as a debate over dates or traditions, but as a celebration of incarnation, presence, and giving. It is an episode that embodies the very message it proclaims: truth pursued through love, and faith expressed through lives well lived. I hope you enjoy this testimony as much as I did!If you'd like to see the video of this interview, pop on over to our Patreon page at: www.patreon.com/theburrosofbereaAnd as always, thanks for listening!

The Browns continued their preparations for the Steelers on Wednesday, but first it was a look back at Shedeur Sanders' performance against the Bills on Sunday. Mary Kay Cabot, Ashley Bastock and Dan Labbe start their daily recap video by discussing what offensive coordinator Tommy Rees had to say about the progress Sanders made on Sunday and if there's something to build on from that performance. Then they turn their attention to left guard Joel Bitonio's vote of confidence for head coach Kevin Stefanski and what he had to say about the Browns retaining Stefanski for a seventh year. They wrap up the video by updating some injuries, starting with the Browns and the return to practice for Denzel Ward and Dylan Sampson and T.J. Watt returning to Steelers practice. Daily Dose of Hope December 15, 2025 Scripture - Acts 17 Prayer: Holy God, Almighty Father, the Great I AM, throughout all time, you are good. Your ways are perfect. Teach us your ways, Lord. Help us to know you better, to know you more. Lord, on our own, we are powerless. We are desperate for your wisdom, love, and mercy. More of you and less of me, Jesus. Amen. Welcome back to the Daily Dose of Hope, the devotional and podcast that complements the New Hope Church Bible reading plan. We have now walked through the Gospels and we are in the second half of the book of Acts. Today, we will discuss Acts 17. In this chapter, Paul preaches in Thessalonica, Berea, and Athens. At each place, he tailors his message to his audience but it's still clearly the Gospel. The reception he receives at each location is different too. In Thessalonica and Berea, he starts at the synagogue, which has been his pattern. He preaches the Gospel to the Jews first. Some Jews believe in Jesus, as did a number of prominent Greek men and women. But things turn south pretty quickly. A number of Jews in Thessalonica are jealous at Paul's success and they raise up a mob to stop him. They actually go to home in which they are staying and drag out Jason and other believers, arresting them and forcing them to post bond. Paul and Silas were being helped by other believers, who were aiding their travel to Berea. In Berea, they were accepted warming at first. People believe. But the troublemakers from Thessalonica find out that Paul and Silas are there and they try to get hold of them there. But Paul and Silas are helped once again by believers who help them get to the coast. In Athens, things are different still. The philosophers are interested in what Paul has to say and he shares the Gospel and there are varied reactions – belief, sneering, and wanting more information. But they aren't beaten up or thrown in jail, so that is quite a relief. In each city, as different as they are, there are some people who take to the Gospel message right away and others who have more questions. I think this is such a great model for us. We share as God leads us and we tailor the message to those who are listening. If we are telling the Jesus story to Jews, then we will focus on the Old Testament and the various prophecies about Jesus. If we are telling the Jesus story to Gentiles, then the story will be spoken in a way that makes sense to them. Paul appealed to what they knew – think about his use of the altar to an unknown God in Athens. In our world, I present the Gospel to someone who grew up in the church differently than I do to someone who has never heard of Jesus. I guess the theme here is know your audience and listen to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Blessings, Pastor Vicki

Hey Burros of Berea listeners! Have I got a treat for you today! Cameron and Toni Driver sat down with me to talk about the exciting music that Toni has been making with the use of AI song generation tools. After years of being a Southern Baptist and taught Dispensationalism most of her life, she heard the news that Jesus Christ fulfilled his promises to the first century generation. From there, the music she was listening too no longer fit her understanding of the Kingdom. So she set out to change that by writing her own lyrics and producing songs through the use of an AI Song Generator not only to listen to herself, but to share with others who believe the way she does. She doesn't just write for one genre but creates songs in every genre to give everyone something they can enjoy. I hope you enjoy this interview and all of the music she has created through her passion and love for the Lord Jesus Christ!Toni Driver's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@tonidriver1518Please go over and subscribe to her channel and begin enjoying a new song that will bless your heart and give glory to our God! Acts 17:10-15 - Berea
Paul and Silas travel to Thessalonica and Berea with the goal of bringing the gospel to first the Jews and then the Gentiles. And the response is quite similar to that of Philippi, some Jews believe, while many Gentiles also come to faith. But things are not peaceful because when people genuinely embrace the gospel tensions rise due to new devotion and dedication. In this sermon we see how the one gospel message will always provoke two different reactions.

On this Monday, Hey, Mary Kay! edition of the Orange and Brown Talk podcast, Mary Kay Cabot and Dan Labbe are back from New York to break down the Browns' 27-20 loss to the Jets. With other NFL coaches getting fired, they start by answering a Football Insider subscriber's question about Kevin Stefanski's job security. Mary Kay explains why she believes Stefanski is safe for now, but Dan wonders if the ugly loss to the Jets could change the thinking in Berea. Then, they dive deep into the quarterback situation. Mary Kay makes her case for why the Browns should stick with Dillon Gabriel, giving him more time with new play-caller Tommy Rees. They discuss the struggles of the offense, from sacks and penalties to a lack of continuity with injured players. How long is Gabriel's leash before the team turns to Shedeur Sanders? Finally, they look at the bigger picture, discussing how the evaluation of the rookie quarterbacks this season ties into the Browns' expected plan to draft a franchise quarterback in 2026 and why the final eight games of this season are still crucial for the coaching staff and the organization. A Somber Opening, Then Back to Football The Detroit Lions Podcast opened with grief. News of Marshawn Kneeland's death at 24 hit hard. A local story. A human loss. A reminder that life dwarfs the NFL. Listeners were urged to seek help if they need it. That tone mattered before the pivot to a five and three Detroit Lions team with Super Bowl ambitions still intact. From there, it was ball. Concrete talk. No fluff. Detroit remains confident despite injuries and a choppy week. The organization believes its path is in-house development, not splashy rentals. The message was clear. Trade Deadline Reality Check The NFL trade deadline came and went Tuesday. The Detroit Lions did not chase names. They added three practice squad offensive linemen. That fit what Dan Campbell signaled beforehand. No panic. No short-term rental that undercuts the program's arc as players get healthy. League-wide context explains it. Only one offensive lineman moved: Trevor Penning, a penalty magnet in New Orleans, shipped to the Chargers after Los Angeles lost tackles all over the depth chart and lost Joe Ault for the season. Beyond that, crickets. Calls were made, sure, but nothing shook loose. The usual dream targets never materialized. Joel Bantonio remained in Cleveland. The tenor out of Berea was firm. The Browns were taking calls, not action, and loyalty to a cornerstone mattered. Kevin Zeitler stayed in Tennessee. The Titans prioritized Cam Ward's growth as a rookie No. 1 pick and kept their best lineman in front of him. Even if Zeitler's 2026 future lies elsewhere, the Titans were not flipping the room in November. Offensive Line Triage, Not Theater The offensive line was the Lions' center ring. Detroit explored, monitored, and held. The show underlined that not all interest is wise interest. Trevor Penning's availability was acknowledged. The fit for Detroit was not. Fair to debate. Reasonable to pass. There was also context on how last year ended with Zeitler. The way he left did not land well with some in Allen Park. He chased a bigger number. Hard to blame the veteran. Harder to re-stage a reunion at midseason, on multiple fronts. One more name surfaced: Andrew Wiley, the Washington tackle with Central Michigan ties. The Commanders were rumored to be shopping him. He did not move. The note at the end carried a tell. Detroit might see him Sunday. Where Detroit Stands At 5-3, the Detroit Lions remain built for January. The staff, including John Morton on the offensive side, trusts the roster and the recovery timeline. The defense is ascending. The offense needs protection continuity. Practice-squad signings are glue, not headlines. That is fine. November demands trench answers. Detroit's approach is deliberate. Keep the locker room. Trust the plan. Win the line. The Super Bowl ceiling remains real. The next step is simple. Play cleaner up front, protect the quarterback, and let a healthy roster carry the NFC fight the rest of the way. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, your daily companion on a journey through the Scriptures. In today's episode, host Hunter invites listeners from around the world to gather by the “fires of God's love” on this 23rd day of October. Together, we dive into Job chapters 13 and 14, where Job passionately argues his case before God, wrestling with suffering, justice, and hope. Next, we move into Acts chapters 17 and 18, following Paul and Silas as they face opposition and share the message of Jesus throughout Thessalonica, Berea, Athens, and Corinth. Along the way, we encounter inspiring figures like Priscilla and Aquila, who gently guide Apollos into a deeper understanding of faith in Christ. Through thoughtful reflection, heartfelt prayer, and words of encouragement, Hunter reminds us that our true rest and identity is found in Jesus. So grab your Bible, settle in, and let's explore these powerful stories together—trusting that through it all, we are deeply loved and never alone. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Aquila and Priscilla and the Invitation to Rest Aquila and Priscilla went to help Apollos. And they want to help us too. They want to point us to our baptism into Christ. Apollos, we're told, only knew about the baptism of John, but Priscilla and Aquila point us beyond that—to our baptism into Christ, an even greater hope and assurance. This is the amazing, liberating news: that God has reconciled us to himself and drawn us into his life. Our identity is not wrapped up in our striving, our performance, or our attempts at holiness. Our identity is in Christ—deeply rooted in what He has done, not what we can do. Baptism, Priscilla and Aquila would remind us, signifies this new reality. Ours is not to strive after some unattainable perfection, but to rest in who Jesus says we are—trusting in His perfection, His holiness, and His love. In Christ, God assumed all of humanity into Himself, so that we might participate in the loving life that Jesus shares with the Father and the Spirit. This is what Priscilla and Aquila invited Apollos to discover: not just a message about repentance, but the ongoing, participatory life in Christ, where we rest, and our joy and strength is found. And that is the invitation laid before us today—to rest in what Jesus has done, to find our strength and joy there. Let us not be anxious or strive in our own strength, but remember that Jesus has included us, adopted us, and called us His own. That's a prayer I hold for my own soul. That's a prayer I have for my family—for my wife, my daughters, and my son. And that's a prayer I have for you: may we rest in our true identity in Christ, and live each day from that grace-filled place. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen.
