Send us a Text Message. What does it truly mean to wage the good warfare of faith? Journey with us as we unpack 1st Timothy, chapter 1, verses 18 to 20, where Paul charges Timothy with an urgent mission: to fight the spiritual battle with unwavering faith and a clear conscience. Drawing parallels to the tragic HMY Iolaire shipwreck, we underscore the grave consequences of neglecting our spiritual defenses against formidable enemies like Satan, worldly temptations, and indwelling sin.In our exploration, we delve into the profound relationship between faith and a good conscience, essential pillars for any Christian. A good conscience is not merely peaceful but must be well-informed and aligned with Scripture. We discuss the vital role of continuous study of God's word in shaping a conscience that resists societal norms and personal feelings, staying true to divine teachings. By referencing key biblical passages, we reveal how a pure conscience aids in resisting Satan's accusations and maintaining one's spiritual integrity.Lastly, we confront the peril of a seared conscience and the importance of church discipline as a loving corrective measure. Using examples like Hymenaeus and Alexander, we illustrate how a compromised conscience can lead to spiritual shipwreck. We also reflect on renewed repentance and maintaining a clear conscience through Christ's atoning work. Our discussion concludes with a heartfelt prayer for divine guidance, urging believers to embrace their solemn duty in the fight of faith, maintaining purity and steadfastness in their spiritual journey. All of Life for GodThe All of Life for God podcast is an engaging and thoughtful collection of exclusive...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify Ladder To Heaven On Earth Podcast (Hosted by LeVar Pompey)Join me in the step by step process of rebuilding our families, rebuilding our...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify Making TimeWhat if you could literally make more time? A strong biblical foundation is the baseline for Christian growth. Spiritual discipline sounds great in theory, but putting it into practice takes time and determination. Our churches and homes today need Christians willing to build their lives on eternal truth, rather than worldly trends. In this series, Building a Strong Foundation, Pastor Chappell illustrates the importance of building the part of life that no one else sees—but God.

Now who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness' sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that should be God's will, than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he went and proclaimed to the spirits in prison, because they formerly did not obey, when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him. Sermon Questions:1. How is your conscience currently accusing or excusing your actions?2. What do you usually do to quiet your problematic conscience?3. Do you feel like you need to be rescued? why or why not?4. Where in your life would you like to experience Jesus strengthening you ?5. You were made by God, he loves you, he died for you, you are special to him. (That's not a question just a good reminder - maybe tell yourself that 10 times today!)
Continuing on in the season teaching of the shaking & exposing work of the Lord, Jonathan gives an overview of first and second Timothy. He then teaches on how to “war the good warfare“ - by recalling prophecies, holding onto faith, and also holding on to a good conscience. We have been given the tools to fight against doubt and condemnation!
