In the explosive opening rant that kicks off this episode of The Clay Edwards Show, Clay unloads on the Mississippi welfare fraud scandal and explains exactly why he stayed completely silent on the Ted DiBiase Jr. case for years — even while everyone was begging him to weigh in. Clay calls it like he sees it: the state of Mississippi signed the checks, approved the contracts, and agreed to pay the money. If DiBiase did the work (and Clay argues he did), then any overpayment or buyer's remorse is a civil issue — not a criminal fraud case worthy of 185 years in prison. He draws the perfect parallel to Brett Favre and rips into the politicized “gotcha” that turned a bad government program into a federal witch hunt. Raw, no-filter, and straight from the gut, Clay explains why he refuses to pretend to be an expert on every story, takes shots at wanna-be journalists who run their mouths without knowing the facts, and breaks the entire case down to the simplest level anyone can understand: “The state wrote the check. They got buyer's remorse when the politics changed.” This is Clay at his most unfiltered — the exact reason listeners tune in. A fiery, common-sense takedown of government waste, selective prosecution, and why this verdict was the right one. Don't miss the rant that sets the tone for the entire Scott Gilbert interview.

Woodson also said they should have selected Jaxson Dart in last year's draft instead of Derrick Harmon. Was that a mistake on the Steelers' part? NFL Draft analyst Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports joined the show. Ryan doesn't think the Steelers made a mistake by not drafting Jaxson Dart last year because they got a good player in Derrick Harmon. He's also not sold that Dart is a big-time QB or even has that in him. The guys asked Ryan about the idea of the Steelers and Carson Beck in the third round, but Ryan believes he will be off the board before pick 100. Ryan said Beck is a better prospect than Will Howard and thinks Mike McCarthy would favor Beck in a battle of the two. Ryan doesn't think you can ever have enough DBs in your locker room, so there's reason why the Steelers are doing homework there. Where do things stand on WR prospects right now? Ryan thinks Antonio Williams from Clemson is a target the Steelers should consider on the second night of the draft. The guys asked Ryan about the visits the Steelers had yesterday. Season 7, Episode 26 of Sports Fellowship with Fox and Frank is a special Liberty University “Ignite Edition”, recorded live in Virginia with a full table of guests and plenty of spirited sports debate. Dan Fox is joined by Josh “The Golf Report” Hooks, Liberty golfer Rusty Hooks, Victor Geikema, Sheridan, Jerry Hooks, Tyler, and a surprise phone-in appearance from Frank himself—creating one of the liveliest roundtable conversations of the season. The episode opens with Liberty University basketball, as the crew breaks down the Flames' strong regular season and disappointing exit from the Conference USA tournament. Liberty finished atop the conference standings but fell to Missouri State in the tournament, raising a classic college basketball debate: Should a three-day conference tournament outweigh an entire three-month regular season? Rusty argues the tournament proves who performs under pressure, while others question whether a single bad night should erase months of dominance. With Liberty now headed to the NIT, the panel debates whether the Flames can make a deep postseason run despite missing the NCAA Tournament. The conversation quickly expands to the broader March Madness landscape as Selection Sunday approaches. The group discusses potential championship contenders—including Michigan, Arizona, Florida, Kansas, and Duke—and examines how injuries, roster depth, and coaching experience could shape the tournament. Rick Pitino's St. John's squad, Kansas' unpredictable star Darren Peterson, and the always-dangerous bracket “dark horse” teams all get their share of analysis as the crew previews the most exciting weekend in college sports. The episode also features a spirited golf segment, led by Liberty's own Rusty Hooks, who breaks down rising PGA Tour star Ludvig Åberg and his chances at the Players Championship. The panel looks ahead to The Masters, with predictions featuring names like Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Brooks Koepka, and Viktor Hovland. The conversation includes a special shout-out to Lynchburg native Zach Bauchou, who made the cut at The Players Championship, highlighting local pride in the golf world. From there, the discussion shifts into the NFL offseason, where quarterback movement and draft strategy take center stage. The crew debates whether young quarterbacks—like projected No. 1 pick Fernando Mendoza—should start immediately or sit behind a veteran mentor. Historical examples from Brett Favre to Patrick Mahomes fuel a lively debate about development, coaching, and the importance of organizational stability. The group also examines offseason outlooks for teams like the Raiders, Eagles, Cowboys, Commanders, and Lions as they prepare for the upcoming draft.Along the way, listeners are treated to plenty of the usual Sports Fellowship flavor: friendly trash talk, predictions, a Phillipsburg vs. Easton tennis bet involving yard work, and classic storytelling from Jerry Hooks about Liberty basketball history. As always, the episode closes with encouragement for listeners to join the Sports Fellowship Bracket Challenge, updates on the show's Facebook page, and an invitation to connect with the community at First Baptist Church of Phillipsburg.Special Thanks to:Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.comFirst Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/

In this episode, the hosts react to Murray sharing that he grew up a genuine Vikings fan, complete with childhood memories of heartbreak during one of the franchise's most painful moments. Vikings Cast a Wide Net at QB for 2026 After Brzezinski's Combine Comments — Dave from Vikings First in SKOL recaps February 24, 2026 on this Vikings Daily Opener, news from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, where Vikings cap/FO executive Rob Brzezinski says the team is “exploring all possibilities” to improve quarterback play in 2026 and “not ruling anything out,” signaling J.J. McCarthy is on notice despite Kevin O'Connell still calling him the franchise QB while acknowledging the timeline has changed. The episode frames the Vikings as seeking a baseline level of competent QB play and discusses what a “wide net” could include, ranging from top-end veteran options to competition/bridge quarterbacks, naming Kyler Murray, Aaron Rodgers, a possibly retired Derek Carr, Kirk Cousins (noting potential release in Atlanta), Geno Smith, Mac Jones, Malik Willis, Anthony Richardson, and a lower tier including Marcus Mariota and Jimmy Garoppolo (with additional mentions like Spencer Rattler). Brzezinski emphasizes the team won't force a bad fit (“can't manufacture what's not there”) and is running the front office through after the draft under owner Mark Wilf, while O'Connell downplays any drama regarding the former GM now in San Francisco. Dave concludes the Vikings are being more aggressive at quarterback than since the 2009 Brett Favre move, presenting the approach as “re-arming” rather than rebuilding and inviting any potential QB to join a team featuring Justin Jefferson and a loud home stadium. 00:00 SKOL Nation Intro 01:13 Combine Bombshell 02:13 JJ On Notice 04:01 Coach Speak Reality 04:56 Top Tier Targets 06:34 Veteran Competition 08:49 Fallback Options 09:32 Front Office Power 11:15 What It Means 12:58 Rearming Finale FAN WITH US! MMQB continues with MIKE HOLMGREN and HUGH MILLEN It's officially Super Bowl week, so how was the week leading up to the game for Coach? It seems to be pretty much a done-deal that Klint Kubiak will be headed to the Raiders after this season, how did Coach deal with his coordinators moving on and is there enough time for Kubiak to focus on both the Super Bowl and the new job? How difficult is it to lose a coordinator and have to start over each year? Should we be concerned about all of the hype surrounding the Seahawks? Did Coach ever have a moment ahead of a big game where he had to calm the nerves of his starting QB? Was Coach more nervous than usual in his Super Bowls? :30- We are back with Coach and Hugh for more MMQB and we are revisiting the conversation surrounding the potential for a JSN/Gonzalez matchup? Is it worth it for the Patriots to adjust their use of Gonzalez? :45- We close out the show at radio row with one last thing! See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
On the Monday episode of the North Shore Drive podcast, Post-Gazette Steelers insiders Christopher Carter and Ray Fittipaldo discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the team's decision to hire Mike McCarthy as its replacement at head coach for Mike Tomlin. Does this move finally give the franchise a fighting chance to develop a young quarterback and functional offense? With pieces in place that include names like Aaron Rodgers, DK Metcalf, Jaylen Warren, Pat Freiermuth, Zach Frazier, Troy Fautanu and Mason McCormick? Can McCarthy win without a franchise QB type like Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers or Dak Prescott at the helm? Could he develop Will Howard or an NFL draft rookie like Ty Simpson, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik or Garrett Nussmeier? Or could he foster a career renaissance like we've seen Sam Darnold enjoy for another veteran QB like Malik Willis? Our duo tackles those questions and more now that owner Art Rooney II and GM Omar Khan have chosen McCarthy over names like Chris Shula, Nate Scheelhaase, Anthony Weaver and Brian Flores. Send us a textWelcome back to the Concrete Genius Pod with Sauce Mackenzie. On this episode, Sauce opens with love and gratitude for the listeners, then dives headfirst into one of the most emotionally charged and honest NFL conversations you'll hear all season. We start with a moment of silence for the Buffalo Bills — arguably the most heartbreaking franchise in modern sports. From Scott Norwood to overtime losses, Buffalo's pain is generational. Sauce breaks down the latest collapse, why it hurt so bad, and why the Super Bowl window is never guaranteed. Then comes the real conversation.Sauce addresses the national media's obsession with Josh Allen — not to attack him, but to defend the truth. Josh Allen is talented. He's passionate. He's elite. It's time to fire up the Wayback Machine, revisiting some of the funniest and most awkward moments in show history, including Skin's legendary interview opener with Stephen Jones:“Where's your heart at right now?” (and yes, he said “just” three times in one sentence). From there, things spiral into pure comedy gold:The East Texas Sports Boys debating Aaron Rodgers vs. Bart Starr, Brett Favre, and…Fonzie. And just when you think it can't get any weirder, the gang unearths a forgotten song from 2021 called “100 Years Ago” by The Dirty Grandma. The lyrics? Absolutely insane. Babe Ruth, flappers, and freaky fun in 1921—this one has to be heard to be believed.
Season 7, Episode 17 kicks off with Dan Fox and Frank Knight ringing in the New Year with a special guest appearance from Tyler, plus the usual basement-studio banter and word-policing: it's “Happy New Year,” not “Happy New Year's,” and Frank is prepared to die on that hill. With Allen Action Jackson out for the night, the crew leans into a lighter opening, Raiders misery, owner jokes, and a quick check-in on the Colts' season collapse, including how offensive line injuries can turn a contender into a cautionary tale. From there, Frank unveils a mini trivia game that instantly becomes an on-air struggle for Dan, until Tyler and Brian (in the background) step in as lifelines. Highlights include the revelation that there are seven NFL officials on the field, old-school quarterback history featuring Terry Bradshaw, a “slow 40-yard dash” trick question that lands on Tom Brady, and the ultimate completions milestone: Brett Favre as the lone member of the 6,000-completion club. The group caps trivia with a bonus stumper: which current head coach rushed for more yards than Bo Jackson? (Jim Harbaugh—quarterback legs count too.)Then the show turns serious with a full recap of Week 17, starting with the Christmas Day slate and rolling through the weekend's games, playoff implications, and draft-position drama:Key Week 17 takeaways:Cowboys over Washington (30–23), a win Dan will take, even if it doesn't prove much.Vikings shock Lions (23–10), officially knocking Detroit out of playoff contention and forcing a full offseason reset.Broncos handle the broken Chiefs (20–13), but Dan remains skeptical that Bo Nix can carry them beyond the AFC Championship tier.Texans over Chargers (20–16), another defensive showcase that reinforces Houston as a legitimate January problem.Browns upset Steelers (13–6) in a game that exposed Pittsburgh's offensive limitations—especially without DK Metcalf.Patriots crush Jets (42–10), as New England continues to look like a real contender.Saints beat Titans (34–26), with New Orleans' quarterback trendline still pointing up.Jaguars stay hot at Colts (23–17), while Indy's year continues to unravel.Dolphins upset Bucs (20–17), leading to a blunt discussion of Todd Bowles and Tampa's lack of consistency.Seahawks take care of Panthers (27–10), with the group agreeing Seattle's ceiling depends entirely on whether “Bad Sam Darnold” shows up at the wrong moment.Bengals torch Cardinals (37–14), followed by more pointed commentary on Joe Burrow's public frustration and what responsibility looks like when you're the face of the franchise.Giants destroy Raiders (34–10) in the “draft-position bowl,” flipping the spotlight to how teams behave when the No. 1 pick is on the line—and how ugly it can look in real time.Eagles edge Bills (13–12) in a messy, rain-soaked game that felt like a potential Super Bowl preview.49ers survive Bears in a late shootout, with Chicago nearly stealing it on the final play.As always, the episode balances serious football analysis with the crew's trademark sarcasm, plus a running thread of frustration about teams that look like they're “managing outcomes” late in the season, whether for seeding, health, or draft position.Special Thanks to:Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.comFirst Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/
Hour 3: Trai Essex joins the show to break down Steelers-Browns. Could next Sunday be the final game of Aaron Rodgers' career? And the Steelers are historically struggling in Cleveland right now.
This edition of Crosstalk began with good news as Jim read Christmas messages from President Trump and Packer great, Brett Favre. However, as we all realize, we live in a world in flux. This is seen by the following headlines, just a sample of what Jim presented during this broadcast: --Authorities say one-third of Kiev is without heating after a deadly Russian drone and missile attack on the Ukrainian capital cut off power supplies leaving hundreds of thousands of people facing freezing temperatures. --President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a joint press conference at Mar-a-Lago following their meeting over a proposed peace deal. Both men signaled that an agreement to end the war was nearing finalization. --Washington has offered a 15 year security guarantee to Kiev as part of a proposed peace plan. --Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida today for a meeting with President Trump to discuss phase two of the Gaza peace plan. --China launched its largest military exercises ever around Taiwan, surrounding the island with warships, aircraft and live fire drills. This was in response to a record U.S. arms sales deal to Taipei. --President Trump said the U.S. launched a powerful and deadly strike against forces of the Islamic State Group in Nigeria, after spending weeks accusing the West African nation's government of failing to rein-in the targeting of Christians. --Antisemitic mobs stormed a Paris performance of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, throwing bombs and attacking attendants and musicians.

A panel of Minnesota Star Tribune sportswriters -- Ben Goessling, Mark Craig and Andrew Krammer -- selected their All-Quarter Century Team for the Vikings from the past 25 years (2001-2025). They came up with three different quarterbacks and head coaches among other variations. What are the merits from Daunte Culpepper to Brett Favre to Kirk Cousins? Or Danielle Hunter vs. Everson Griffen?
"He said negativity." Dan just learned how to properly pay the check at a restaurant and still doesn't know how to eat spaghetti. Remember that whole "he needs the upcoming holiday break" thing we said about him during the Local Hour? Also, the problematic Nacua brothers, the Dentek Bucket, and a movie that finally unites Zaslow and Amin. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Football Americans! We've so much to get to this episode: Lamar v Allen! The long kicks! Jalen Carter's spit! The sad, sad Dolphins. And we've got the right father and son duo to tell you all about it with Greg and Chris Cote from the Dan LeBatard show. Plus, we've bring in Geoff Schwartz to explain why he fell asleep and missed what could be the best game of the season. The Super Fuentes Brothers provide knee jerk reactions to Week One from Miami, and Newsman Bradley presents Aaron Rodgers unfiltered from New York. Hyperbolic, sure. Satisfying? Of course. Football is back, America, and here to cover it is Football America! **That said. Before you hit play we gotta protect our guy, Pittsburgh Hero Ryan Clark. A lot of people out there chose to get up on Mount Pious about Clark saying Tom Brady and Drew Brees weren't generational talents. They aren't. Neither guy was a measurable physical freak. Y'see the NFL's got two basic types of QBs. 1. Specimens like Josh Allen, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, even Jeff George. These guys can evolve into gunslingers like John Elway, Brett Favre and Ben Roethlisberger and take you to the top of Mount Lombardi. 2. Assassins like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Joe Montana. They've been marginalized with the name ‘game manager' but they're calculated and lethally accurate. Big game trophy hunters. That's why I call 'em ASSASSINS. In superhero terms, it's like Superman v Batman. You'd of course like the measurables of the son of Jor-el over Bruce Wayne, but that doesn't mean Batman can't win thanks to being more clever. So, descend Mount Pious and just admit Brady and Brees are the Keaton and Bale Batmans (batmen?) of the NFL. And be good with it. As for serial killers, well... Mike Tomlin can go ahead explain that one. We're stumped. Now, start the show! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices
