In episode 145 of the Glow Journal podcast, host Gemma Dimond talks once again to Rachael Wilde- the founder of both Bouf Haircare and tbh Skincare. Rach has been on the show before, back in April 2022, to talk about tbh, but this is the first time a founder has joined me for a second time to talk about an entirely new brand. I wanted to talk predominantly about Bouf today, so if you do want to hear about the tbh launch and Rach's story as a founder, you can find that episode back in season 4.That said, we did have over three years of tbh catch up to do and, in Rach's words, the last 3 years have really been where everything has happened- the brand launched into over 400 Priceline stores in March 2023 and Coles later that year, merged with Boost Lab the following month to create parent company York St Brands, and rebranded earlier this year ahead of global expansion. Bouf, Rachael's newest venture and the third brand within the York St stable, was developed in a similar manner to tbh- Rachael was presented with patented hair growth tech called the FGF5 protein, she looked at the clinical, tried it herself over several months, and upon seeing results, decided to take that tech to market in the form of a shampoo, conditioner, leave in treatment, hair growth tonic and a digestible hair growth supplement. In this conversation, Rachael shares the reason behind that now infamous Bouf launch campaign that saw brand ambassador Indy Clinton wearing a wig, the detail behind 2023's York St Brands merger and tbh skincare's subsequent growth, and how she and her team survived an internet hate campaign that, quite literally, captured the attention of the world. Shakira BioSnap a weekly updated Biography. In the past few days, Shakira has been at the center of the global music stage with her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. On August 4, 2025, she electrified Los Angeles with a sold-out show at SoFi Stadium. Billboard documented her performance of Chantaje, while fans and celebrities like Isabela Merced and Amanda Diaz shared their excitement from the venue on social media. One standout moment, captured by BV Concerts on YouTube, was Shakira's first-ever live rendition of her fan-favorite Men In This Town, a song that has never been performed live before. Opening for Shakira that night were the Black Eyed Peas, making it a major event for LA's summer concert calendar.Next, Shakira is set for a highly anticipated show in Fresno at the Valley Children's Stadium—the first big-name concert ever held at this venue. According to FOX26 News and Fresno State Athletics, there's still a push for last-minute ticket sales, with special deals like free admission for the first 250 students who purchase football season passes. Local officials, including Assemblyman David Tangipa, view her appearance as a pivotal test for Fresno's ambitions to attract more A-list artists, acknowledging that breaking into the big-league touring circuit is no easy feat for the city.Meanwhile, Shakira has also stepped out in the beauty business spotlight. Just last week, she launched her debut haircare line, Isima, at a star-studded party at Casita Hollywood. People magazine reports Shakira opened up at the event about her personal struggles with ‘temperamental' hair, joking about her journey from brunette to blonde to red and back again. Isima is exclusive to Ulta and features eight products tailored to different hair needs. The pop star emphasized that the brand is rooted in science, culture, and, importantly, her own experience with hair disasters over the years. On the financial front, Vinyl Me Please highlighted Shakira's blockbuster tour revenue—she has reportedly grossed $130 million as of June, topping Billboard's mid-year rankings and cementing her position as a global force in Latin pop. Her tour is seen not just as a commercial success, but as a cultural movement addressing themes of female empowerment and resilience—reflected in both her music and her business ventures.Social media continues to buzz with fan content from her shows, reactions to her hairstyles, and speculation about future tour dates, especially as she heads to Mexico for a series of concerts that promise to maintain her record-breaking momentum. Shakira BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Shakira has commanded headlines over the past few days with a blend of compassion, business savvy, and continued global superstardom. Following the devastating floods in Kerr County, Texas, she landed in San Antonio for a sold-out concert as part of her blockbuster Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which is already lauded as the most successful of her career. Shakira took to Instagram and X to express heartfelt condolences to affected families, saying she was “devastated to hear the news of the flooding, the deaths, and the girls still missing,” and offering her prayers. What set her actions apart was her decision to donate a portion of her San Antonio concert proceeds to disaster relief funds through Catholic Charities, making headlines in Fox San Antonio and Fierce by Mitú for turning the show into “a moment of healing.”Fan accounts and music magazines, including The Heart Sounds, captured the energy outside the Alamodome as fans raved about her performance and her commitment to the community. According to Wikipedia, fundraising was not a one-off gesture—her pledge and outreach were widely praised as an example of a megastar leveraging her platform for urgent humanitarian causes.Business-wise, Shakira has been busy expanding her brand footprint. She told GQ and Us Weekly that writing music has been her lifeline and that “the healing process is long,” though she's now embracing new beginnings with her sons.Tour-wise, demand continues to surge. Shakira recently announced additional dates in Mexico and the US—including new shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles and in Fresno, fueled by overwhelming ticket sales—according to her official Instagram and press outlets. Anticipation is also building over speculation about a UK tour, with industry sources suggesting negotiations are underway for Shakira's first major UK return since 2018.As July unfolds, Shakira stands at the intersection of music, philanthropy, and entrepreneurship, generating headlines for both her onstage triumphs and her offstage empathy.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOta

In this solo episode closing out Season 14, I'm sounding off on everything from chaotic reality TV to the very real “romance recession” y'all are living through. Then we get into the good stuff:
This week on SUPERWOMEN, I'm joined by Carolyn Aronson, founder and CEO of It's a 10 Haircare. Before becoming one of the few female entrepreneurs in the beauty industry to own and operate her own brand, Carolyn spent decades behind the chair as a stylist and salon owner, learning firsthand what both professionals and everyday consumers needed from their products. She didn't just study the market; she lived it. Carolyn's early life taught her resilience and self-reliance, qualities that would become central to her entrepreneurial path. This, however, wasn't Carolyn's first venture in beauty. Her first line didn't succeed, but it gave her the hard-earned lessons she needed to get it right the second time around. She took everything she learned, the missteps, the financial risks, the hard-won insights, and applied it to what would become one of the most recognizable hair care brands in the country. In this episode, Carolyn shares how staying independent gave her the freedom to lead on her own terms. She talks openly about learning from failure, launching without outside funding, and the importance of creating products that work for all hair types.Today, It's a 10 is sold in more than 25,000 salons and retailers across the country, but getting there meant making bold choices and sticking to her guns. Carolyn shares how staying true to her vision, even when it meant going against industry norms, was the key to building a brand that stands out. If you're navigating your own path, questioning the rules, or wondering what it really takes to succeed on your terms, this episode offers a powerful reminder that sometimes the most successful route is the one you create for yourself.Thank you for listening!
