Welcome to another episode of Wrestling Of The Month. This is the bigger, badder and better version of Match Of The Month. On the last day of the month, I summarise/review anything that has a connection to wrestling and what I believe people should go out and watch or play etc. to see why wrestling is so good. In today's episode, join me, Mark, as I review and talk about the excellent match that was from the Invasion PPV between the WWF vs. WCW/ECW where it shows just how good Rob Van Dam is and why so many of us loved him so much! #wwf #wwe #ecw #wcw #mrppv Match was: Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy - Invasion (2001) Subscribe: https://www.youtube.com/@KnowYourWrestling10 Please buy our shirt: https://www.teepublic.com/en-gb/t-shirt/13668606-know-your-wrestling-nwo-logo?store_id=486178 Please subscribe to our YouTube: youtube.com/channel/UCCokEpBKmKGvUAKCjWw5XZQ Please like and follow: www.facebook.com/knowyourwrestling/ twitter.com/KYourWrestling Subscribe to Tony: www.youtube.com/user/LoserQuestShow www.youtube.com/channel/UCj8-aurGivxuW6HM_u94V2A www.youtube.com/channel/UCie84qi0lY0o-CMNzj4frbQ https://www.youtube.com/@WhatAreMovie Follow Richy: www.twitter.com/RichardFilmer1
The biggest threat the WWF has ever faced is WCW and ECW teaming up! Vince McMahon is begging Stone Cold Steve Austin to come back as the old Stone Cold and lead the WWF into The Invasion PPV. Stone Cold is drinking at The Friendly Tap drinking the night away. At the end of the night the WWF, WCW, and ECW were brawling as Stone Cold came back to the arena with a broken pool cue. Austin beat up everyone and gave out a million Stunners. Whether you like the Invasion storyline or not this is one of the most iconic moments in WWE history. Welcome to part two of Drunk Wrestling History's 21 year celebration of The Invasion. On this week's episode we are reviewing the Invasion PPV. It was one of the most interesting shows ever because every match was WWE vs The Alliance. It had the Inaugural Brawl, a referee match, and the first Bra And Panties match that we've reviewed. Have a drink with us and check it out. Cheers! After Vince bought WCW and performed his epic victory lap, things didn't go as planned for him. In real life, many of WCW's top stars did not come over to wresstle for him. In the storyline, his two spoiled brat children bought WCW and ECW out from under him, and are staging an invasion that threatens to make his victory in the wrestling wars of the 1990s hilariously short lived. In this episode, our hosts cover the InVasion PPV, which was a showcase in the discrepancy of the star power between the WWF wrestlers and those who came over from WCW, and it ended with one of our heroes turning our back on us in a manner that was more confusing than devastating. Today the guys break down another Invasion PPV, Unforgiven 2001! They talk about the main storyline which is Austin and Angle, and who really was going over in that match. Chase and Greg talk about all the storylines for this PPV as WWF did a solid job of letting every match on this card get air time. They also talk about the smackdown following 9/11 and how that shaped things for the company moving forward. And as always they break down the entire card... with a shocking 5 star rating! On this episode, we give our top 10 WWE vs. AEW Dream Matches and go back in time to 2001 to create an Invasion PPV card.
The guys break down the beginning of the WCW invasion of the WWF that culminates with the Invasion PPV. The guys dive into how both companies got here, the selling of WCW to Vince McMahon and how they thought about taking over one of the WWF shows. They also talk about why that did not happen. From the up and coming WCW stars that did show, they were given prominent TV time but did that help them or hurt them? They also disclose why so many big name WCW was not present during the entire invasion. Chase and Greg deep dive into the PPV and the feuds and egos that make this unique PPV happen. Continuing our special mini-series on the Invasion era of the early 2000's, Nick and Matt do a watchalong of the InVasion PPV main event alongside Jon and Bacon. "The main event was the "Inaugural Brawl", a no disqualification ten-man tag team match between Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page, The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley) and Rhyno (Team WCW/ECW), and Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, Kane and Chris Jericho (Team WWF). WCW Owner Shane McMahon, ECW Owner Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley, ECW General Manager Paul Heyman, and WWF Owner Vince McMahon were at ringside." -Per Wikipedia. So you know it's true. Anti-American "gimmicks" have been done in wrestling for decades but Muhammad Hassan is the only character to ever be banned from television in the WWE. Join Bruce and Conrad as they examine the "how" and "why" of one of the most controversial characters in wrestling history. Who had this idea originally? How was it different than what had been done before? How did they choose who would portray the character? What were the booking plans before the incident? How did the man behind the character handle the success? What REALLY happened with him in "Wrestler's Court" and what was the verdict? What were the choices considered once the incident was already taped but had not yet aired? How did Vince react to the negative mainstream coverage of the angle? Did the WWE ruin a guy's career with one bad decision? The "what if" of this character and a single decision could have changed everything. And of course the guys get it over whether or not they should have done the character in the first place. Enjoy two hours and no one is going to agree about, the story of Muhammad Hassan!
