On this episode, Dave LaGreca, Tommy Dreamer & Mickie James discuss this being the 25th anniversary of the infamous Montreal Screwjob. We bring on Hall of Fame referee Earl Hebner, who was in the ring that night, to talk about it. Speaking of screw jobs, we talk about NXT, which saw Zoey Stark turn on her partner, Nikkita Lyons.
Sunglasses and sparklers- what a load of crap! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys examine the go-home episode of Monday Night Raw, leading into Survivor Series 1996. Mankind keeps us moving forward, despite the Executioner tied around his ankle, and the championship scene is mostly falling flat; however, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bret Hart are putting asses every 18 inches with the lead-in to their match. Earl Hebner is a wiener!
Kris & David are back this week with Keith Harris (@glasgowkjh) to discuss the week-plus that was July 12-19, 2005, which Keith requested as a $100 Patreon pick.We start off talking about WWE and the backlash from the Muhammad Hassan "terrorist" angle with The Undertaker that aired hours after the 7/7 attack in London and how that blew up in their faces, causing them to backtrack heavily. We also talk about SmackDown & Raw, which is always wild to look back at in this era, as well as Triple H gaining more office duties, Earl Hebner getting fired, Matt Hardy & Lita appearing on Byte This in an infamous moment, and much more.We then go to Japan where we start off with Shinya Hashimoto's funeral and then move on to Destiny, the massive NOAH Tokyo Dome show that Keith attended, which was the reason why he picked this week. We talk about all the matches and other happenings from the show, which featured the legendary Kenta Kobashi-Kensuke Sasaki match and the final Toshiaki Kawada-Mitsuharu Misawa singles match. We also talk about some of the other shows Keith went to, plus all of the major results and news for the week.Next up is Mexico & Puerto Rico, where we talk about a very hot period for CMLL, a startup promotion in Puerto Rico that fell apart before they ran a show, and a crazy Bruiser Brody Memorial Show for the WWC.Then we go back to the United States for some Summer of Punk in Ring of Honor — which Dave Meltzer was getting tired of, Charlie Haas returning to JAPW, some other big indie shows, and more.We then close with TNA, which was in a holding pattern of sorts until starting on Spike TV, so we talk about that plus a very interesting NO SURRENDER PPV and much more.A long, but very fun show, so listen now!!!!!!!!!!!Timestamps:0:00:00 WWE2:05:06 Eurasia: Shinya Hashimoto funeral, NOAH, AJPW, NJPW, DDT, Dragon Door, Dragon Gate, Hustle, Michinoku Pro, Osaka Pro, Bikkuri Pro, & FWA4:06:39 Classic Commercial Break4:11:25 Halftime4:23:31 Latin America: AAA, CMLL, IWRG, Monterrey, GladiatorCW, WWC, & IWAPR4:46:02 Other USA: Ballpark Brawl, ROH, JAPW, Steve Karel, IWAEC, Iron Ring, NWA Anarchy, IWAMS, & FCW (Los Angeles)5:17:12 TNA5:09:47 Patreon Preview: Someone is trying to play both sides of Rita Chatterton's allegations against Vince McMahon to different TV showsTo support the show and get access to exclusive rewards like special members-only monthly themed shows, go to our Patreon page at Patreon.com/BetweenTheSheets and become an ongoing Patron. Back to 2001 we go, where the dreams of all Wrestling fans came true, we finally get to see Earl Hebner wrestling on PPV…@fowl_original makes his return to public life, to join me the show for an in depth look at this time period, celebrity encounters, and issues with Sing 2, go and follow @blacklakes you little rascals xx
2000 was a crazy time in the wrestling world. Mike Awesome defected to WCW, however he was still the ECW World Champion. Facing legal action from Paul Heyman, Mike Awesome had to appear at an ECW event and defend the ECW Championship against Tazz, who was working for WWF at the time! This was the one and only time a WWF Superstar wrestled a WCW wrestler at an ECW show. Tazz, now ECW Champion, showed up on SmackDown! and challenged the WWF Champion Triple H to a match! Speaking of Triple H, we are shortly removed from the night that Chris Jericho beat Triple H for the WWF Championship. Triple H bullied Earl Hebner to reverse the decision and Triple H regained his WWF Title. The Rock will challenge Triple H coming up at WWF Backlash and Linda McMahon appointed Stone Cold Steve Austin to be in The Rock's corner to help even the odds. Chris Jericho battles The Rock in a Lumberjack Match, where all the Lumberjacks were chosen by The McMahon-Helmsley Regime. Also, Big Show is “The Big Funkay”, Crash Holly is on his WWF Hardcore Championship 24/7 Rule reign, & Eddie Guerrero gets his GED! Where's the SUUU-EEEE McMahon? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys view the fallout from the Buried Alive Pay Per View. Henry Godwin continues to get overlooked, Earl Hebner continues to build his stats, and it took three years for Vince McMahon Sr. to achieve Hall of Fame status. Bret Hart returns to provide an amazing interview, and kicks off an amazing feud with Stone Cold Steve Austin. It's been a PERFECT hoax!
An amazing ppv put on by Impact Wrestling as they celebrated 20 years in the industry. They brought back favorites for video and in-person appearances; such as Sting, AJ Styles, Traci Brooks, Earl Hebner, and America's Most Wanted. They brought back Classic Matches such as Ultimate X, The Queen (King) of the Mountain match, Monster's Ball, and the Reverse Battle Royal. Tune in for all this coverage and more on The Tap.

February 13th, 1999: In what is STILL the biggest crowd ever for an episode of "Raw," the WWF packs over 41,000 fans into The SkyDome for a special Saturday night episode! Vince McMahon orders WWF Champion Mankind to face "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in a non-title match, but those plans may change by the end of the night. For some reason, The Rock has a match with, of all people, Steve Blackman. X-Pac faces a daunting challenge when he is ordered to compete against Corporate Kane. The Ken Shamrock/Val Venis feud continues to escalate, which results in a special guest referee being appointed for their match at "St. Valentine's Day Massacre." Al Snow calls out "The Road Dogg" but, when he doesn't answer the challenge, Al then proceeds to have a Hardcore Match.... against himself. Jeff Jarrett goes one-on-one with D'Lo Brown, who introduces us to a brand new female wrestler. Viscera squares off with The Godfather in what is sure to be a five-star classic. Goldust steps into the ring with Gillberg in a match which has a rather surprising result. Plus, we get the famous visual of Vince yelling in "Stone Cold's" face, Darren Drozdov beats up an announcer, and Earl Hebner suffers the wrath of some unforgiving Canadian fans! Meanwhile over on "Nitro," we get roughly 800 vignettes, including the revelation that Raven is actually a spoiled rich kid! Enjoying the Podcast? Vader is tasked with helping Ken Shamrock with his transition from the UFC in Episode 63 of ‘The New Generation Project Podcast' where we take a look at “In Your House: A Cold Day In Hell”. Unfortunately for Vader, Ken is a less than apt pupil, so he has to go to some extreme lengths to get ‘The World's Most Dangerous Man' to settle down… Featuring; your suggestions for wrestlers appearing in animated series, the Scrivens family get a buggy board, we discuss the death of Chyna and the WWE politics surrounding it, Mankind cuts a creepy promo to a little girl, Vader cuts a scary promo to everyone in the arena, Ahmed cuts an incomprehensible promo to everyone on the planet, Earl Hebner loses it, a couple of new additions to The Hart Foundation, Rockabilly and Jesse James have another classic and Paul offers his own personal audience suggestion. Plus the answers to the questions; How loud do you have to call spots to get us to notice? What's the greatest kids theme song of all time? What's happened to The Funkettes? What the fuck is D'Lo Brown wearing? Who's shooting on who? How many kneepads does one man need? What's changed about the “In Your House” set? Which of us has never seen “The Thing”? What's a Wheelchair Match? And what is a more apt name for Ahmed Johnson's gauntlet match against The Nation?
Smile, though your heart is aching, Smile, even though it's breaking, Smile, what's the use in crying, you'll find that life is worthwhile, if you'll just... smile! Cheer up Shawn! It can't be that bad (it actually isn't). The Heartbreak Kid has vacated his newly won WWF Title and in Episode 56 of 'The New Generation Project Podcast' we need to determine a new Champion at "In Your House: Final Four". Featuring; our thoughts on the retirement of Daniel Bryan, the most random 6-man tag team of all time, the first appearance of 'a lady', tons of ball shots, Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith continue to have problems, Savio Vega has apparently turned heel, the latest effort to give Sable some kind of personality, a new Intercontinental Champion, a chat about "Thursday Raw Thursday", Earl Hebner finds a curious way to break up a pin, Doug Furnas & Phillip LaFon finally get their PPV Tag Team Title shot, the most brutal match to date on the podcast and Paul delivers one of his better impressions? Plus the answers to the questions; Who does a better cat impression? How many main eventers can fuck up their promos? Who's missing from the commentary team? How do you act with sunglasses on? Can you build a bear-proof suit? Is Mankind in The Nation of Domination? Is Shawn Michaels a good friend? What are the Scrivens doing for Valentine's Day? Why isn't Fake Diesel in the Final Four match? If Flash Funk has 'Funkettes' what would Bart Gunn have? What is Crush good at? And what happens when Ahmed Johnson stops taking his Prozac?
Verbal Shenanigans is back doing live on location at Parsippany High School for some exciting wrestling from UPWA. We had a blast and got a real insight into the independent wrestling business. We were able to interview several wrestlers including our good friend Big Irish Pete Nixon, Papa Stro, Mike Orlando, Miss New York aka Anna Theresa, Justin Parker, and Tommy Spencer. We also spoke to the legendary Earl Hebner! Listen to us awfully call Pete Nixon's match and finally we wrap up with the promoter of UPWA, Don Brower. We had a blast! You could be forgiven for assuming that a PPV titled "In Your House: It's Time" might be about Vader. You would, however, be wrong. In Episode 47 of 'The New Generation Project Podcast', we take a look at the WWF's final big show of 1996. Featuring; your suggestions for new gimmicks for The Smoking Gunns, Shawn Michaels being an utter dick on commentary, a ton of chop blocks, the only match we'll ever see from The Executioner, two random Luchadors wandering out, straightjackets, loads of run-ins, all the main eventers have turned heel, Ahmed Johnson returns to the show to cut the best promo ever, Vince does some more dancing, Flash Funk does a 450 Splash and the podcast debut of Johnny B. Busy. Plus the answers to the questions; Why is Earl Hebner so sleepy? Who are Adams favourite BBC Breakfast news presenters? What is Doc Hendrix wearing? Who does The Rock face in his first singles match on the show? What's wrong with the audio on this show? What happened to Ahmed's house? How many manoeuvres were there on PPV in 1996? Who never owned a bum bag? And are Mrs Scrivens eyebrows real?
