In this episode of Journey of Hope, host Elio Constantine shares a recent prayer gathering with Heart for Lebanon's ministry partners, offering a sobering update on the ongoing conflict in Lebanon and the ministry's response amid continued war, displacement, and uncertainty. The episode begins with an overview of the current situation in Lebanon, including the fragile ceasefire, the ongoing violence affecting civilians, and the growing humanitarian crisis impacting millions across the country. Listeners hear firsthand how families continue to face displacement, fear, economic collapse, and instability while searching for safety and hope.Throughout the conversation, Camille Melki shares how Heart for Lebanon has expanded its emergency response efforts to serve thousands of additional families through food distribution, shelter support, hygiene supplies, and ongoing community care. May-Lee Melki shares stories of children experiencing trauma, interrupted education, anxiety, displacement, and fear, while also pointing to the hope found through Heart for Lebanon's educational and discipleship programs.Listeners will hear powerful testimonies from children and families whose lives are being impacted through both in-person and virtual ministry efforts, including stories of faith, prayer, healing, and curiosity about Jesus among communities who may have never otherwise encountered the Gospel. The episode concludes with a focused time of prayer for Lebanon, the region, displaced families, ongoing peace talks, and the protection of the Heart for Lebanon team as they continue ministering in dangerous and challenging circumstances.Show NotesCurrent Situation in Lebanon• Ongoing conflict despite a temporary ceasefire• Continued civilian casualties, displacement, and instability• Over 1.2 million people displaced across Lebanon• Economic collapse and humanitarian challenges continue to worsenHeart for Lebanon's Emergency Response• Expanded ministry efforts serving thousands of additional families• Distribution of food, hygiene supplies, blankets, and emergency aid• Humanitarian care paired with Gospel-centered ministry• “Jesus conversations” opening doors among vulnerable communitiesImpact on Children & Families• Severe trauma, anxiety, and interrupted education among children• Increased risks facing women, mothers, and young girls• Stories of displaced families navigating fear and uncertainty• Heart for Lebanon continuing educational and child-focused outreachStories of Hope• Testimonies from children and families encountering Christ• Virtual and in-person ministry creating opportunities for discipleship• Families from Muslim backgrounds asking questions about Jesus• The Gospel advancing even in the midst of conflict and despairPrayer Requests• Pray for displaced families and vulnerable children• Pray for protection over the Heart for Lebanon team• Pray for peace negotiations and stability in the region• Pray for the Church to continue boldly sharing the hope of ChristKey TakeawayEven in the midst of war, displacement, and uncertainty, God continues to open doors for the Gospel as families encounter the hope, peace, and love of Jesus Christ through faithful ministry and prayer.Connect & Pray With Us
All about Jesus-The Gospel of Mark-Jesus calls a disciple.
Pastor Darrell preached on Luke 24:13-35 where Jesus, beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, interpreted to his disciples in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Randy Bachman preached on Mark 1:40-45, focusing on Jesus healing a leper. He emphasized the leper's desperate plea and Jesus' compassionate touch, which immediately healed the leprosy. Bachman drew parallels between leprosy and sin, highlighting Jesus' power to forgive and cleanse. He shared a personal story about his wife's miraculous cancer recovery. Bachman stressed the importance of obedience to God's commands, even when it seems counterintuitive, and encouraged believers to confess their sins for forgiveness. He concluded by urging the congregation to share the gospel and live in humble faith, trusting in Jesus' transformative power.

Randy Bachman discusses the compassion of Jesus as depicted in Mark 1:29-39, emphasizing Jesus' immediate healing of Peter's mother-in-law and his subsequent healing of many sick and demon-possessed individuals. Bachman critiques the modern church's lack of genuine compassion, contrasting it with Jesus' consistent acts of kindness and service. He urges the congregation to emulate Jesus' compassion, to prioritize prayer, and to stay focused on spreading the gospel rather than being distracted by temporary successes. Bachman also encourages personal reflection and prayer to renew one's joy in serving Christ and others.

Are you looking for life and coming up empty? Maybe you've tried to pour yourself into your work, and found that it is just exhausting. So you turn to family and find that frustrating. Maybe a hobby, but who really has the time? We are looking for life in all the wrong places.Enter Jesus and The Gospel of John.Jesus was John's best friend and Lord. John writes, “That you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and that by believing, you may have LIFE in His name.” And there it is - our great desire - LIFE! Not simply heart beating and breathing and going about the day. But a life of energy, vitality, and joy. A truly abundant life. John isn't writing so that we will survive in Jesus's name. He is writing so that we will thrive in Jesus's name. How?By knowing, understanding, and ultimately believing in Jesus. The entire gospel of John, everything that is written, is to help us get a clear picture of who Jesus is and why Jesus matters. So, for you - are tired of reaching for life and coming up empty? Are you tired of reaching for life in something temporary only to watch it go away over time? Jesus is not just life now, but abundant life for all eternity. If you want to know God, if you want to know life, then know Jesus. That is the purpose of the gospel of John, and that is what we will look at over the next several weeks as we seek to understand Jesus and come to believe in His name and have life in His name.
Jesus is rejected in his hometown—not because he lacks power, but because their hearts are closed. People's unbelief doesn't change who Jesus is. Jesus is our Savior even when he's misunderstood. Our doubts or other people's opinions don't cancel Jesus' authority or compassion. God doesn't measure you by how others respond to you. Our job is not to control outcomes; it's to trust and obey. God loves working through everyday faithfulness.Series Summary: Fast-paced, urgent, and relentlessly focused on Jesus, the Gospel of Mark shows us not just what Jesus said, but what he did. Written for a Roman world hungry for power, Mark introduces a surprising King - one who comes to serve, to suffer, and to give his life for many. Over the coming weeks, we'll walk this road with Jesus, from the wilderness to the cross, discovering how the Servant-King's actions reveal the true good news - and what it means to follow him as disciples who take up our own cross and trust him with our lives.Add St. Marcus as your church on the Church Center App!Fill out our online connection cardHow can we pray for you? The Gospel still works. Jesus still saves. And His call hasn't changed: Come to Me. Pastor Ryan Deas reminds us that the power of God is released through faith in God. The enemy is after your ears—because faith comes by hearing. This message exposes distraction, challenges surface-level Christianity, and pushes us back to raw trust in Jesus. It's not about fixing yourself before coming. It's about coming to Jesus and letting His voice transform you. Guilt, shame, failure? Bring it to Him. Whether you're the prodigal, the paralyzed, or the woman caught in the act—Jesus doesn't condemn. He heals. He delivers. He saves.Key Scriptures:Romans 1:16–17Romans 3:3–28John 8 (The woman caught in adultery)Matthew 11:28Luke 5 (The paralyzed man)Core Messages:The Gospel is the power of God for those who believe. You can't clean yourself up—come as you are.Faith activates the power of salvation, deliverance, and righteousness.Hearing God personally is essential; no one can do it for you.The devil's biggest trick: get you to stay away from Jesus.Don't run from conviction—run to Him.

In this episode, I sit down with Brian Blount, a leading scholar on the Gospel of Mark, the Book of Revelation, and biblical hermeneutics. We dive deep into Jesus as a boundary breaker, the radical nature of his ministry, and how we as believers are called to live that out today. Brian unpacks the cultural and theological context of these books, reveals why the ending of Mark is so abrupt, and shares insights on how Revelation still speaks to us today. If you've ever wondered how to interpret these books or how to break boundaries in your faith, this episode is for you! __________________________________________________________ Ready for more?
