On this Wednesday edition of Sid & Friends in the Morning, it is now officially confirmed that the minds of some of our supposedly "brightest" youths attending the Ivy League schools of MIT, PENN and Harvard are being poisoned by an administrative initiative to turn them into an army of Jew haters. The presidents of each of the schools listed above failed to condemn the calls for the genocide of Jewish people that are persisting on their respective campuses. In other news of the day, FBI Director Christopher Wray issues a warning that essentially implies a terrorist attack on America is imminent, Presidential candidate Donald Trump appears for a Town Hall on Hannity, and we're inching towards tonight's 4th GOP debate that Trump will unsurprisingly not be attending. Tony Osso, Curtis Sliwa, Michelle Esquenazi, Alan Dershowitz, Peter King, Steven Van Zandt and Jeff Lax join Sid on this hump day installment of Sid & Friends in the Morning. This week I spoke with the very talented Derek Nelson. He spins a lot of plates. He's currently playing in 5 different active bands playing guitar for all of them. He also has a small home-brew studio where most his projects demo and track. Derek's played all over the world so it was especially interesting to hear some of his Bandecdotes. Including a bit on an inside scoop of what really happened with the notorious London promoter and Green Jello which ended up with them featured on WorldStarHipHop.comSUPPORT THE BANDS HERE:GREEN JELLO:https://greenjelly.bandcamp.comTHE ADVANCING LOW LIVES:https://theadvancinglowlives.bandcamp.com/TEMPLE OF NIGHT:https://templeofnight.bandcamp.com/LAZY ASS DESTROYER:https://lazyassdestroyer.bandcamp.com/Like, Subscribe, Follow, Rate & ReviewIf you're in an active band from Ontario and play metal, hardcore, screamo, punk, or alternative and want to be featured on the podcast contact me at bandecdotes@gmail.com

In this 3rd of a 3-part series titled Meet the Millenials, Sheila talks to Chris Whitehall, lead singer of the band The Griswolds, an indy band from Australia who rose to fame with their self-produced “Heart of a Lion EP” in 2013 and went on to achieve international acclaim. (And yes folks, they did name the band after the family in the classic Chevy Chase film, “Vacation”.) Chris talks about the experience of going from having a full-time “day job” and playing music on evenings and weekends, to getting signed to a major label deal and touring the world, a life-changing whirlwind transition that he had to learn to manage. Chris relates his experiences being on tour and the psychological effect being the lead singer had on him, and how he brought balance back into his life. He explains the acronym YAPFISH, “You Always Pay For It Some How” and how he and his band mates came up with that after experiencing the alternate reality of life in a professional band touring and recording. At the end of the podcast, Chris treats us to a very special acoustic performance of their single “Out Of My Head” from The Griswold’s latest album “High Times for Low Lives”. The Australian four piece, The Griswolds are following up their "Be Impressive" record with the extremely catchy "Out Of My Head." The Griswolds new record is titled “High Times for Low Lives.” “The song is a very honest, heart-on-your-sleeve breakup song about being fucked over,” singer and guitarist Chris Whitehall told HuffPost. “Everyone can relate to holding on to the past for too long. There’s also a satisfying sense of victory though as you finally rip the Band-Aid off and rid yourself of someone who is no good for you. It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but at the same time it’s the best thing to do.” Tweet @JasonDRossi & use #929Podcast to engage with the show.
