In this candid and revealing interview, Niall engages in a thought-provoking conversation with John McGuirk, Editor of Gript Media, about the intricate web of misinformation, disinformation, and the recent controversy surrounding the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD).John McGuirk dives into the importance of seeking news from multiple sources and not succumbing to a singular mainstream narrative. The discussion kicks off by shedding light on the ISD, a think tank supposedly dedicated to countering polarization, extremism, and disinformation globally. However, recent events have brought the ISD's credibility into question as it found itself tangled in the propagation of misinformation during a "Fighting Fake News" training session.John McGuirk provides a critical perspective on the ISD's report, dismissing it as nonsensical and sinister. He emphasizes the need to focus on facts rather than attacking opinions, highlighting the pitfalls of concentrating on narratives rather than objective truths. The conversation takes an intriguing turn as John points out a recent example of media bias, drawing attention to the selective reporting surrounding Ryan Casey's victim impact statement. The omission of politically relevant portions raises concerns about how media narratives can be shaped to fit certain agendas.Throughout the interview, John McGuirk advocates for a media landscape that prioritizes transparency, unbiased reporting, and accountability. He encourages listeners to approach news consumption critically, urging them to question narratives and seek diverse perspectives. This episode provides a valuable exploration of the challenges faced in navigating the complex world of media, disinformation, and the pursuit of truth.

Ashling Murphy: "bean óg a scaip aoibhneas agus grá". Ashling Murphy, the young woman who was killed in Tullamore last week, was buried in Co Offaly today. Adhlacadh i gCo Uíbh Fhailí inniu Ashling Murphy, an bhean óg a maraíodh i dTulach Mhór an tseachain seo caite. Ashling Murphy, a 23 - year - old teacher, was assaulted and killed on a sidewalk alongside the Grand Canal in Cappacurra, Tullamore, at around 4pm last Wednesday evening. Ionsaíodh agus maraíodh Ashling Murphy, múinteoir 23 bliain d'aois, ar chosán taobh leis an gCanáil Mhór i gCeapach an Churraigh, Tulach Mhór, ag thart ar 4 a chlog tráthnóna Dé Céadaoin seo caite. One of the main funerals at this morning's Mass at St. Brigid's Church in Bolas Hill was the family of Ashling Murphy - Raymond and Kathleen - her sister Amy, brother Cathal and partner Ryan Casey. Ar na príomhshochraidigh ag an Aifreann éagnairce i Séipéal Naomh Bríd i gCnocán Bhólais ar maidin, bhí muintir Ashling Murphy - Raymond agus Kathleen - a deirfiúr Amy, a deartháir Cathal agus a páirtí Ryan Casey. Leading celebrant Father Michael Meade said in his address that Ashling was a triumph of victory snatched from his family and party. Dúirt an príomhcheiliúraí an tAthair Michael Meade ina aitheasc gur séad bua ab ea Ashling a sciobadh óna teaghlach agus óna páirtí. She is a person, he said, who has given joy, love, excitement and laughter to many people. Duine í, a dúirt sé, a dháil aoibhneas, grá, sult agus gáire ar a lán daoine. Father Meade also pointed out that many questions have been raised in the community since Ashling 's death and that he hoped that the necessary change in circumstances would come in the light of what had happened to the young woman. Thug an tAthair Meade le fios chomh maith gur tógadh go leor ceisteanna i measc an phobail ó maraíodh Ashling agus go raibh súil aige go dtiocfadh an t-athrú a bhfuil gá leis ar chúrsaí i bhfianaise ar tharla don bhean óg. Bishop of Meath Dr Thomas Deenihan was also one of the celebrants of the Mass and said that Ashling 's murder casts doubt on people's attitudes towards women, and challenges our values and morals. Bhi Easpag na Mí an Dr Thomas Deenihan ar dhuine de cheiliúraithe an Aifrinn chomh maith agus dúirt seisean go gcaitheann marú Ashling amhras ar dhearcadh daoine ar mhná, agus go dtugann sé dúshlán ár gcuid luachanna agus ár moráltachta. As they read the public prayer, Ashling's cousins drew attention to all the beeping that took place in his honor throughout Ireland and abroad. Agus guí an phobail á léamh acu, tharranig col ceathracha Ashling aird ar na bigilí ar fad a bhí ar siúl ina hónóir ar fud na hÉireann agus thar lear. It has been argued that these beggars would be the beginning, the end of violence against women. Impíodh gur tús a bheadh sna bigilí sin, tús an deiridh le foréigean ar mhná. Also present at the funeral were many of his friends from school, college, the Gaelic Athletic Association and Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. I láthair ag an tsochraid chomh maith, bhí go leor dá cairdre ón scoil, ón gcoláiste, ó Chumann Lúthchleas Gael agus ó Chomhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann. Ashling was a member of the Athboy Fellowship. Bhí Ashling ina ball de Chomhaltas Bhaile Átha Buí. Ella Flaherty, Ashling's best friend since they were children, was among the local musicians who played the music at Mass. Bhí Ella Flaherty, cara cléibh Ashling ó bhí siad ina bpáistí, i measc na gceoltóirí áitúla a chas an ceol ag an Aifreann. A number of symbols of Ashling's life were brought to the altar in her homage - a fiddle, a Kilcormac / Killaghy camogie jumper, a picture of her family, a school book and a photograph of herself. Tugadh roinnt samhailchomharthaí ar shaol Ashling chun na haltóra ina hómós - fidil,

The news in the world today is often troubling and might send us into a tailspin of anxiousness and worry. When we hear stories of people hurting each other and conflicts around the world, we may wonder if there's a hope in our future, or if we are just descending into chaos. When things seem out of control, the Bible gives us assurance that God is still in charge. Isaiah 41:10 says “do not be dismayed, for I am your God—I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” This week our guests both share about how they have come to know the greatness of God and how they've seen His power to overcome darkness in our world and in their own lives. We'll hear from Sinach, an award-winning singer from Nigeria, and psychotherapist Ryan Casey Waller. Links, Products, and Resources Mentioned: Jesus Calling Podcast Isaiah 41:10 NIV Jesus Calling Jesus Listens Past interview: Levi Lusko Upcoming interview: Steve Wariner Sinach “Greatest Lord” www.sinachmusic.com Ryan Casey Waller Anxiety, Depression, and Other Things We Don't Want To Talk About Mental illness www.ryancaseywaller.com Interview Quotes: “As I grew as a Christian being born again, I started understanding, Oh, wow, the Lord could actually use what I'm doing, and as I saw the number of people that were being impacted with my music, I just realized that, Oh, wow, this is more than just a hobby. It is more than just something that I sing when I want to sing. This is something that the Lord will use. “ - Sinach “It was not particularly about the music, but the spirit, the power of the name of Jesus behind the music.” - Sinach “The name of Jesus is greater than depression, is greater than any sickness that has been named or will ever be named, and that we must have confidence in the name of Jesus and be able to trust Him for what He said He is.” - Sinach “I understood myself first and foremost as a child of God. That's the lens through which I saw the rest of the world. I understood that first and foremost, no matter what I did, no matter what I said, no matter what I accomplished or how I failed, I knew that God had brought me into existence, out of love and made me for love. And that blessed me so I might have the opportunity to bless others.” - Ryan Casey Waller “By the grace of God, working with that therapist and beginning to take medication, I experienced a tremendous amount of healing. And I became really passionate advocating for Christians to try and understand mental health as health and not as some separate category.” - Ryan Casey Waller “It was that moment of deep embarrassment and shame that allowed me to see that I needed to push pause on everything. And then I need to return to the basics and I need to go and get some serious treatment and to take time to understand that my own mental health had gotten in a bad place and I had to step back.” - Ryan Casey Waller “If the church is going to be a place of true healing, then it must be a place where every kind of pain can be brought into and entrusted. Jesus never promises to take our pain away, but what is promised is that He'll be there with us.” - Ryan Casey Waller “I think that the abundant life that Jesus offers, the life that He wants us to enjoy, is one in which we are entering into the healthiest versions of ourselves as possible.” - Ryan Casey Waller “God has a future for you, there are people who love you, and if you're in pain today, please tell them. Don't be ashamed. You'll be met with love and you'll be guided toward healing.” - Ryan Casey Waller ________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel: Audio Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PrbuwH Video Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PsmEkJ What's Good? Welcome guys to Episode no. 36 overall but no.1 of my new rebranded Podcast “Lean into Life” I was delighted to be able to welcome on a buddy of mine and former professional Soccer player and Irish Youth International Ryan Casey to the podcast. Galway native Ryan was scouted by Swansea City FC at the age of 13 and never looked back. He player for the Swans from 1996-2002 and his time there was cut short by a couple of bad injuries. Ryan returned to Ireland to play for a number of League of Ireland Clubs such as St. Pats, Cork City, Galway United, Longford and Athlone as well as a stint playing in Australia. Since retiring, Ryan is has been heavily involved in coaching especially at Academy and youth level and has also worked for the FAI as a Development Officer. He currently is coaching at Sligo Rovers as the U17 coach. We had a brilliant conversation about Ryan's childhood as his passion for Soccer coming heavily from his hero, his own Dad who as Case said is still his hero today. We discussed his journey in youth football locally in Galway to playing for Belvedere FC in Dublin and was then noticed by a Swansea scout. It was a very different environment to the academies of today and he had to work hard and be driven to make it through which he succeeded in doing. Ryan went on to play in the winning Irish European U18 Championships under Brian Kerr in 1998 where they beat Germany on penalties to win the cup. A massive achievement with what was deemed by the press to be the “Golden Generation” of Irish youth football with some of his teammates including the likes of Robbie Keane, Damien Duff, Stephen McPhail and Richard Dunne to name a few. We discussed the pitfalls of a career in soccer as well as some great stories on some fanatical fan bases and rivalries he came across in is playing days over the water. We also talked about the interesting topic of talent selection and development of young players which is a bit of minefield and how he sculpted his own coaching habits and skills from his years of playing and from some of the top coaches he played under. A quote that stood out for me from the podcast was “It's good to be open to advice but to be really good at anything, you have to believe in what you are doing and believe in your own style and keep refining it” I loved that quote from Case, believe in you and your own style and then refine as you go on your journey. I thoroughly enjoyed the chat and I am sure you will too. Please share, tag and rate. I think you will get a lot from it and what it takes to become a high performance professional player. Enjoy guys Thanks Michael

No matter what though, we can't deny that it exists.” This was Ryan Casey Waller's response when I asked about his new book, “Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don't Want to Talk About.” This opened the door to a great, shame-free discussion about mental health and overcoming the stigma that often goes along with it. Happy Tuesday! Jared Ramirez, CEO of Enviromedica, is here to talk about bacteriophages, an ingredient in their Terraflora Advanced Care probiotic. Ryan Casey Waller joins us to discuss his new book, "Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don't Want to Talk About." So let's get started! Jared Ramirez Jared Ramirez is the CEO of Enviromedica, makers of Terraflora and a sponsor of One Life Radio. Enviromedica is a natural health and wellness company founded in 2007. Inspired by nature and ancestral health, they make premium foundational products to support whole body nutrition and help people achieve optimal health. Bacteriophage Terraflora Advanced Care uniquely incorporates targeted bacteriophages for intensive GI support. Found ubiquitously in nature, bacteriophages are microscopic proteins that inhibit the growth of unwanted bacteria in the gut. This allows beneficial bacteria to thrive, while maintaining an appropriate microbial balance to support a healthy GI tract. TerraFlora advanced care differentiates in what bacteriophages it targets. We have bacteriophages in out body. Bacteria in our body outnumber us 300 to one. Bacteriophages outnumber us 10 to one in our body. They are not a bad thing necessarily. Bacteriophages are so large, that we do not even have a number that our brains can comprehend. They are much more specific than antibiotics, and are typically harmless to the host organism and beneficial bacteria. This reduces the chance of opportunistic infections.
