"Sonic Ranch" Licking his wounds from the breakup of his band Big Car, the Texas-born singer/songwriter Miles Zuniga found himself out west--and when I say out west I mean about ten minutes from where we record this podcast. Miles got a job working at Chez Panisse and hanging out on Telegraph Avenue at Cody's Books and Amoeba Music. The Big Car experience hadn't been great, so Miles was plotting out his next moves while he worked in Alice Waters' restaurant and I'll let him tell you how that all played out, so let's just fast forward to when he moved back to Texas and joined forces with bassist/singer Tony Scalzo and drummer Joe Shuffield to form Fastball. The trio's debut Make Your Mama Proud evinced their penchant for punchy pop genius but it was their sophomore record All The Pain That Money Can Buy that put them on the map. The album's first single "The Way" was pretty much a pop sensation, hitting the number one slot of charts for seven weeks. The next two singles "Out Of My Head" and "Fire Escape" helped fuel the album's Platinum status and Zuniga, a long way now from his Chez Panisse days, found his band with two Grammy nominations. Over the course of their career, Fastball have collaborated with Billy Preston, Steve Berlin, Adam Schlesinger and Charlie Sexton. From Keep Your Wig On to The Help Machine to their latest album Sonic Ranch, their discography is an endless supply of pop riches. Miles is a great guy and this is a very cool chat so let's meet himm www.fastballtheband.com (http://www.fastballtheband.com) www.bombshellradio.com (http://www.bombshellradio.com) www.stereoembersmagazine.com (http://www.stereoembersmagazine.com) www.alexgreenbooks.com (http://www.alexgreenbooks.com) Stereo Embers The Podcast BLUESKY + IG: @emberspodcast EMAIL: editor@stereoembersmagazine.com

With the FIRST EVER VINYL pressing of sophomore album Out Of My Head dropping February 7, 2025, NZ's finest punk n' rollers will be hitting Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne in the company of some of Australia's most beloved rockin' outfits early 2025.The D4 are running hot from a riotous, untamed tour across their spiritual stomping ground of Japan, and are now primed to explode back onto the Australian stage.Rock'n'roll fans will be treated to their notorious and incendiary live show, replete with a reputation for amplifiers catching on fire and sweat dripping from the ceiling. Expect the powerhouse show to include the classics Rock'n'Roll Motherfucker, Sake Bomb, What I Want, Party, Come On!, Get Loose and Ladies Man amongst a high-octane set that will also include a slew of NEVER BEFORE HEARD MATERIAL!HEAVY caught up with vocalist/guitarist Jimmy Christmas to find out more."There's a lot of memory and effort and energy that went into that record," he recalled of Out Of My Head, "so it's nice to be able to revisit it. I think… we had a lot of people clamouring for it to be on vinyl over the years and there just hadn't been a time when the stars aligned, but now it seems to make a lot of sense. I was pleased to pick up the records just today."In the full interview, Jimmy expressed the band's excitement to come back to Australia for the first time in 20 years, what to expect from the shows, what has changed with The D4 in that period, the 20th anniversary of the album Out Of My Head, memories of making the album, if the songs have stood the test of time and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

Grammy® Nom, New Music, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & New Music, TV Appearances. My Grand Folks & Family always had the Rock n Roll/Soul Classics playing when I went to Reunions & around the House during my Childhood. I consider this a GIFT!! I ALSO get the gift of Interviewing one of my Favorites: Little Anthony!!Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee “Little Anthony” Gourdine is without question one of the most celebrated vocalists in the annals of popular music. His tender yet explosive delivery of a musical phrase leaves audiences spellbound with an impression so indelible that casual listeners never forget the ‘voice' or the tunes he immortalized. These songs consistently emanate from airwaves and are often lauded in music journals worldwide. Songs such as “Goin' Out Of My Head,” “I'm On The Outside Looking In,” “Hurt So Bad,” and “Take Me Back,” are simply four of a compendium of platinum hits performed by the extraordinarily gifted performer on national television and heard on classic and Top-40 radio spanning numerous decades. His latest blockbuster release is no will-o'-the-wisp, stab in the dark recording; it is a well-thought-out and substantive diary of songs, including many covers bearing his unmistakable vocal imprint. Producer Michael Miller spared no effort in tirelessly orchestrating a project that promises an enduring shelf-life titled LITTLE ANTHONY & THE MUSIC — AN ANTHOLOGY. Songs include the classics “A Lovely Way To Spend An Evening, ”Love is a Many Splendored Thing,” “What A Difference A Day Makes,” and “Who's Sorry Now.” Forty memorable selections should keep you and your significant other reminiscing for some time to come. And if you're not spoken for, you can enjoy it all to yourself for as long as you can imagine! There is something for everyone in these forever volumes. Despite many of the songs being standards, you'll notice his articulate style blessing each track. Consider the infusive single and premier release "New York State of Mind." While some scratch their heads in wonderment upon hearing this cover for the first time, thinking: "That voice is familiar." And after a slight pause, like a ton of bricks it hits them: "That's Little Anthony!" For sure. And then they go on praising his vocal acumen, deservedly so. His R&B-laced rendering of "New York State of Mind" is a divergence from the perennial recording and sports an infectious 42nd Street vibe. It's performed so well that composer Billy Joel is likely to tip his hat. A popular legend recently said: "The Man's still got it!" His new autobiography Little Anthony -- My Journey, My Destiny is not the traditional rags-to-riches -- cock-and-bull story and not the aimless tale landing everywhere.. “Little Anthony” Gourdine has brightened many a day for aficionados of ‘God's musical gift to mankind' everywhere with indescribably beautiful music that fills our hearts with Joy! .............. https://www.harmonystreet.biz/ Phil C. A distinctive figure in the New Zealand musical landscape, Delaney Davidson has dropped yet another album. Out of My Head has a more theatrical feel, co-producer Mark Perkins' synth atmospheres creating a cinematic soundscape for the twelve-track album. The album is filled with songs written over the global pandemic lockdown period, with notable guest appearances from Marlon Williams and Reb Fountain. Despite the circumstances in which they were written, music reviewer Estelle Clifford told Jack Tame that there's a kind of freedom and joy to a lot of the tunes. “I love it,” she said, giving the album a 10/10. Welcome to my first Joint Interview! My Co-host is Gary Puckett, ‘60s Superstar with Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, as we interview another music Superstar, Jerome Gourdine, better known as Little Anthony of Little Anthony and the Imperials. Little Anthony and the Imperials was one of the few artists who bridged the doo wop era of the 1950s and the rock era of the 1960s. They had one hit after another with “Tears On My Pillow” (1958), “Shimmy Shimmy KO KO Bop” (1960), “Goin' Out Of My Head” and “I'm On The Outside Looking In” (1964) and “Hurt So Bad” (1965). Their songs have been covered by so many artists. They appeared twice on the Ed Sullivan Show and were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.In honor of my co-host the featured song in this episode is “Young Girl”, which was a #1 hit for Gary. In 1968 he and his band had six Top 10 hits and sold more records than anyone else. ---------------------------------------------The Follow Your Dream Podcast:Top 1% of all podcasts with Listeners in 200 countries! For more information and other episodes of the podcast click here. Grammy® Nom, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame & New Music, TV Appearances.......... Little Anthony Talks to Us about Life Success Lessons from his Elders & Touring with Ruth Brown, Sarah Vaughn, Sam Cooke, Dr. Martin Luther King & MORE. His Awesome LITTLE ANTHONY & THE MUSIC — AN ANTHOLOGY includes New Music & Classic Tunes. He Tours in concert in 2023My Grand Folks & Family always had the Rock n Roll/Soul Classics playing when I went to Reunions & around the House during my Childhood. And I promise you: The fun verbal exchanges in the narration between Anthony and the producer are insightful as twists and turns unravel in the development of this contemporary musical masterpiece. A popular legend recently said: "The Man's still got it!" A few days from scheduled release, we're anticipating a rush of accolades and interest in what comes next. After years of performing at arenas and concert halls, clubs and festivals, Anthony has acquired a wealth of experience that accompanies him as you flashback to his highly successful stint as lead singer with the Imperials on a few choice cuts. Following the release of this work, expect the entertainment icon and his band to visit a city near you with a live show embracing many of the tunes contained in this two-volume cache — and more. As an all-around artist in the studio and on stage, he has been and remains an inspiration to many larger-than-life- acts, past and present: Silk Sonic, Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and Michael Jackson, to name a few. Nearly every rock, pop, R&B, and jazz act who attained star status attribute a slice of their inspiration to the influence of Little Anthony as a lead vocalist and a solo artist. Alive and well, he is eager to take his show on the road and share as much as audiences can enjoy, including numbers from the Anthology. Like a silver fox, he roams the stage, eyeing each participant as they sing along with the seasoned crooner and his dynamic band. Recently, the Brooklyn, NY, native said: “I'm anxious to share these songs with folks everywhere, and I'm so proud of the entire team that helped put it all together.” This is only the beginning of a succession of projects on tap for the foreseeable future. He is busily working on other productions to be named later. His new autobiography Little Anthony -- My Journey, My Destiny is not the traditional rags-to-riches -- cock-and-bull story and not the aimless tale landing everywhere. It is a culmination of a lifetime of near embryonic experiences unlike many others -- and he is here to talk about it. But whether sipping a cup of tea, tearfully empathizing with the subject, or pondering a musical concept, there's something for everyone in this one. One more thing: the fact that Anthony rhymes with anthology sounds cute and is coincidental, but the sterling quality of this 40-track-production is not(!) borne of luck. “Little Anthony” Gourdine has brightened many a day for aficionados of ‘God's musical gift to mankind' everywhere with indescribably beautiful music that fills our hearts with Joy!

Även Smith & Thell är nya på listan med I Feel It In The Wind. Listan på de som lämnar blir lika lång; Cornelia Jakobs med Rise, Molly Sandén med Vi:et I Vinsten, Agnes med Love And Appreciation, Veronica Maggio med Heaven Med Dig liksom First Aid Kit med Out Of My Head. ManyFew Exclusive Mix on the Virtual Sessions presented by The DJ Sessions 5/16/22 About ManyFew - “The self-taught duo exude a passion for producing wildly digestible tunes that unwittingly get you up and moving” – DJ Mag On a mission to deliver feel-good and dance-ready creations all around the globe, Stockholm-based production duo ManyFew have spent the last few years lifting spirits with their distinct blend of house and disco on iconic imprints such as Axtone, Selected, Spinnin' Records, Perfect Havoc and 3 Beat. Driven by an unrelenting passion, ManyFew are brothers by blood and best friends by choice. Meticulously honing their craft, ManyFew began self-releasing their original works in 2017, catching the attention of industry heavyweights with an array of dance floor fillers including ‘Feel Good', ‘Where To Go' and ‘How Would You Know'. Climbing the Music Week Upfront Club Charts, ManyFew hit #5 with ‘Still In Love', #9 with ‘Ibiza' and #10 with ‘Where To Go'. Making a massive impact with ‘Makin' Love' on Perfect Havoc in late 2019, the electrifying single has been streamed over 3.5 million times on Spotify alone. Making their Axtone debut with the label's final release of the decade, ManyFew teamed up with Marcus Santoro and Hayley May for a momentous collaboration, ‘For You', which was supported by the likes of Meduza, Tiësto, Don Diablo and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. Reaching new heights in 2020, ManyFew made their Spinnin' Records debut with ‘Off My Mind' Ft. Voost, which has garnered over 4.8 million streams on Spotify and was 1001 Tracklists' 14th most played Dance Track of the year. Flaunting their remixing abilities, the brothers also provided official remixes for music royalty including Paul Oakenfold's ‘What's Your Love Like', Whigfield's ‘Suga' and Clubland's ‘Set Me Free'. Following their emphatic debut UK performance at the Ministry of Sound Weekender, the pair performed at legendary music venue Ibiza Rocks on the White Isle. While live events were on hold, they took part in a variety of livestream festivals, ensuring they made every moment count, despite the difficulties presented by the ongoing global pandemic. Exuding sheer determination and excitement in everything that they do, ManyFew continues to soar further into a league of their own in 2021. Celebrating over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify, as well as for their vibrant Electronic Heaven radio show, ManyFew have well and truly solidified their tastemaker reputation. Achieving a stream of new accolades, they were selected as one of Tomorrowland's ‘Future 4' artists, and continue to receive heavy support from BBC Radio 1, including presenting ‘Off My Mind' as a Self-Certified Anthem on MistaJam's Future Dance Anthems show. Their Selected debut ‘Out Of My Head' with Jack Wins surpassed their previous streaming records, amassing a whopping 5 million streams on Spotify within 3 months of its release, and reached #1 on the 1001Tracklists' Best New Songs Chart. Introducing their final single of 2021, ‘Power' with Jenny Adesanya, ManyFew returns to Spinnin' Records to close the year out on a high, with early support from industry greats, including Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Oliver Heldens and Lucas & Steve. The vocal harmony group tradition, known as Doo Wop, developed in the post-World War II era. It was the most popular form of rhythm and blues music among black teenagers, especially those living in the large urban centers of the eastern coast, in Chicago, and in Detroit. To us, it was just cool music coming from our transistor radios. That was the beauty of radio. Music wasn’t defined by a color, just by the beat and the mood you felt deep in your soul. By the mid-1950s, vocal harmony groups had transformed the smooth delivery of ballads into a performance style incorporating the nonsense phrase, “Doo Wop,Doo Wop” as vocalized by the bass singers, who provided rhythmic movement for an a cappella song style. In this episode you’ll hear: 1) Those Oldies But Goodies (Remind Me Of You) by Nino & The Ebb Tides 2) Sweets For My Sweet by The Drifters 3) Red Light, Stop Sign by The Earls 4) So Fine by The Aquatones 5) So This Is Love by The Castells 6) Could This Be Magic by The Dubs 7) I'm So Happy (Tra-La-La-La-La-La) by Lewis Lymon & The Teenchords 8) Let's You and I Go Steady by The Pearls 9) Mr. Lee by The Bobbettes 10) Baby Oh Baby by The Shells 11) Little Star by The Elegants 12) Nag by The Halos 13) Little Bitty Pretty One by Thurston Harris 14) Sometimes by Danny & The Juniors 15) Since I Don't Have You by The Skyliners 16) Peanut Butter by The Marathons 17) A Teardrop And A Lollipop by The Shirelles 18) Looking for an Echo by The Mighty Echoes 19) I Wish That We Were Married by Ronnie & The Hi-Lites 20) Lovers Who Wander by Dion 21) Step by Step by The Crests 22) Rendezvous With You by The Desires 23) Happy Birthday Blues by Kathy Young & The Innocents 24) Western Movies by The Olympics 25) Don't Take The Stars by The Mystics 26) Goin' Out Of My Head by Little Anthony & The Imperials 27) Fever by Little Willie John 28) Music, Music, Music by The Sensations 29) When You're Young by The Flying Pickets 30) Oh Julie by The Crescendos 31) I'm So Happy (Tra-La-La-La-La-La) by The Ducanes 32) A Kiss from Your Lips by The Flamingos 33) Mister Lonely by The Videls 34) I'll Be True by Johnny Maestro 35) Lover's Prayer by The Clickettes 36) Band Of Gold by The Roomates 37) Hear The Bells (Ringing Bells) by The Tokens 38) The Woo Woo Train by The Valentines 39) I Count The Tears by The Drifters (with Ben E. There's a chintzy all-synth score, innumerable pointless changes of location, a moonwalking Thriller zombie, and a sassy southern talking zombie head that just won't quit. Why oh why won't it quit? Then the guys wrap things up with the first installment of "Staff Picks" where they put on their video store name tags and recommend some superior alternatives to rent. So fire it up and take a listen, and while you're at it, get that damn screwdriver OUT OF MY HEAD! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/killstreakpod/message

In this 3rd of a 3-part series titled Meet the Millenials, Sheila talks to Chris Whitehall, lead singer of the band The Griswolds, an indy band from Australia who rose to fame with their self-produced “Heart of a Lion EP” in 2013 and went on to achieve international acclaim. (And yes folks, they did name the band after the family in the classic Chevy Chase film, “Vacation”.) Chris talks about the experience of going from having a full-time “day job” and playing music on evenings and weekends, to getting signed to a major label deal and touring the world, a life-changing whirlwind transition that he had to learn to manage. Chris relates his experiences being on tour and the psychological effect being the lead singer had on him, and how he brought balance back into his life. He explains the acronym YAPFISH, “You Always Pay For It Some How” and how he and his band mates came up with that after experiencing the alternate reality of life in a professional band touring and recording. At the end of the podcast, Chris treats us to a very special acoustic performance of their single “Out Of My Head” from The Griswold’s latest album “High Times for Low Lives”. The Australian four piece, The Griswolds are following up their "Be Impressive" record with the extremely catchy "Out Of My Head." The Griswolds new record is titled “High Times for Low Lives.” “The song is a very honest, heart-on-your-sleeve breakup song about being fucked over,” singer and guitarist Chris Whitehall told HuffPost. “Everyone can relate to holding on to the past for too long. There’s also a satisfying sense of victory though as you finally rip the Band-Aid off and rid yourself of someone who is no good for you. It’s not always the easiest thing to do, but at the same time it’s the best thing to do.” Tweet @JasonDRossi & use #929Podcast to engage with the show. We are the West,LA-based alt rocks and just plain fun band seen in secret underground concerts. The band is three people who somehow manage to sound like an entire orchestra. They play rock and alt rock, and maybe country, and maybe new age but whatever they play, they play it in storm drains and shipping containers, sheep farms and in abandoned convents and who knows where else. And everything they play is absolutely wonderful. As a plus, they sometimes play their great music at a concert series they host in the underground parking garage of an office building the Saturday before each full moon.Regardless of where they play we are joined today by John Kibler, Brett Hool, the founders of We Are the West. Britany Brochard, beautiful voice behind the Jonny Californio Project.. BRITTNEY BOCHARD IS KNOWN IN THE LA MUSIC AND TV COMMUNITY FOR HER EXCELLENT SONG WRITING, BUT HER FANS FOR POP SONGS, VIDEOS AND HER STUNNING BEAUTY. THE WOMAN WHO MOUNTED THE STAGE THAT NIGHT AND INTRODUCED HERSELF NOT AT BRITTNEY BOUCHARD, BUT AS THE JONNY CALIFORNIA BAND, WAS NOT THERE TO DISPLAY BEAUTY – STUNNING OR OTHERWISE ; SHE WAS THERE TO BLOW US AWAY WITH UNBELIEVABLE MUSIC AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT SHE DID. I STILL CAN’T GET THE FIRST SONG OF THE SET, VOLCANO, OUT OF MY HEAD. FORTUNATELY, I DON’T HAVE TO BECAUSE I CAN STREAM IT FROM REVERBNATION, ALONG WITH THE SONGS FROM HER NEW EP, I WILL BE YOURS. AND EVEN BETTER , SHE IS HERE WITH US RIGHT NOW.
