Sumner welcomes his old friend Mark Askwith to this week's Hard Agree. Mark's done itall and interviewed everyone in the pop culture sphere over the last thirty years. After starting out in the late 80s publishing scene (like Sumner himself - but 3,000 miles further west, in Toronto), Mark managed the hugely-influential Silver Snail comic book store in Ontario, before co-writing the comic book sequel to The Prisoner TV show - Shattered Visage - with Dean Motter in 1988. The next year, Mark became a full time TV producer and writer, co-creating and launching the long running Canadian pop culture show Prisoners of Gravity, before spending 20 years as one of the founding producers of Space, Canada's equivalent to the Sci-Fi Channel. Over those two decades, Mark got to meet, befriend and hang out with some of global popular culture's most influential creators – and he's here to tell Sumner all about it (in between lengthy bouts of celebrating their mutual pop culture obsessions). David Bain with Jason Barnard at Digital Elite Day 2019 David Bain talks with Jason Barnard (The Brand SERP Guy) about the 5 steps of podcasting. We kick off with a singing duet. David Bain then suggests that I am not so good at preliminaries. We then quickly get onto the five steps. Step 1 is prerecorded audio – make sure that is really good or you will hit problems later on. He gives some great tips on recording sound and getting the audio to sound great. I go off topic by jamming ‘All about the Bass', then we get sidetracked by iPhone theft and motorbikes falling on us before getting back on track (which is a very appropriate turn of phrase). Step 2 is live audio and David Bain gives practical tips about how to prepare, editing and what is annoying for listeners tuts, for example. Step 3 is using as-live video. He gives super tips and tricks, and we have fun describing what we are doing for people who are just listening to the audio and cannot see what we are doing. Step 4 is live video – by this time, you can really concentrate on getting the live-chatting part right since you will have mastered the audio and getting the video right. He talks about platforms he uses – Vmix, Google Hangouts, LinkedIn, Periscope, Facebook, Blab.im. Step 5 is a live event such as David's rather ambitious 120-guest 5-day live digital marketing marathon on Facebook. We end up agreeing with Mark Askwith that Digital Marketing is just marketing now. BIG thank you to Monte for being videographer.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xW0eFySP82k

Welcome to The Tally Ho, a podcast about the classic TV series The Prisoner. Following on from our recent episode about the re-release of Shattered Visage, we had the great pleasure of interviewing the writer and artist behind the book, legendary comics creator Dean Motter. Dean Motter has worked as an illustrator, designer, editor, art director and writer for over 40 years. His hugely influential style - combining retro-futurism with hard-boiled noir - has brought us classics including Mister X, Terminal City and Electropolis.Shattered Visage was originally published by DC as a 4 issue miniseries in 1988-1989 (twenty years after the original TV show airing, and set contemporaneously), the series was written by Dean Motter and Mark Askwith, and drawn by Dean Motter, with colour art by David Hornung and Richmond Lewis. Dean talked to us about how he put together the project and the influences on Shattered Visage as well as his other major works.Time for Cakes and Ale, a podcast featuring geeky ramblings with Becks & Eeson, and also home to "Time for Cherry Pie and Coffee", a Twin Peaks podcast, and "The Tally Ho", a Prisoner podcast.Follow us on Twitter @TFCAALike us on FacebookVisit our Website See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Home. What does it mean? What associations do people commonly hold about what their home means to them? How can music help to tie us to home, especially when one is far from it and missing it? When Graeme went to a military school at the age of 12, ABBA’s penultimate 1980 album Super Trouper helped him to keep his feet on the ground while he was regularly apart from his family. How did this record help Graeme during this trying period to make that connection? What is it about this record that brought him joy then, and what is it about it that does the same today? How does music help us keep, or gain, a sense of home? And what did the other members of the Deeper Cuts trio think of Sweden's greatest contribution to pop music? We can face it together the way old friends do, dear listeners! Tune in to this last episode of the third(!) season of the Deeper Cuts podcast and bop (and a half!) along with us! Don't forget to check out our Spotify Playlist for Season 3 which has all the songs on this album and most of the other albums you' heard this season as well.  Special thanks, as ever, to Alex Kennard for our theme song, to Scot Clarke for our logo and ID graphics and to this season's "vox pops" Mark Askwith, Aileen Page, John O'Connor, Heather Murray, Drew Walko and Heather Berberet. We'll be back for season four sometime in the near future. Thank you for the music!

(Although, he” far too humble to agree on that fact.) He has personal ties to the likes of Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore and Frank Miller.
