Must Be Tuesday is back to talk the last season of Lucifer--for real this time! These first two episodes serve mainly to summarize what happened in season 5 and to pull back and explore the developments of last season's finale. Is Lucifer God? Big fat no. Is Chloe his consultant? Also no. Is Maze queen of hell? Not so much. Dan's in hell? Not for long! And so on. There's a new big bad in town, but she's just a blip in these episodes so more on her next time.
This week on the pod, JT and Marco are joined by Amanda of the Fire Bad, Tree Pretty podcast to discuss perhaps the most delightful episode of Buffy ever: s06e07 “Once More, With Feeling.” (13:47) We also gab about the next two episodes, “Tabula Rasa” and “Smashed,” as the Scooby Gang takes a turn for the dark and twisted misery of their early 20s.
Matt goes into detail about his choices in college that led him to his career path. A few major changes. A lot of bicycling. And some bland tacos.
This week on Must Be Tuesday, Alli and Mary discuss a question we have't faced before: what to do when a show drops in quality and you don't know if it will get better. As our listeners have surely noted, we are not loving the direction of iZombie this season: characters are swinging wildly through inconsistent arcs that circle around and lead exactly nowhere. Mysteries of the week aren't improving. The season lacks a cohesive theme. The answer, much like our soon-to-record foray back into Veronica Mars, might be a switch up in style: binging. Grab a beer and gear up, because it's a bitch session.

Veronica Mars is back, baby! And she is all words, no pictures. In this special edition of Must Be Tuesday, Alli and Mary delve into the first Veronica Mars novel, The Thousand Dollar Tan Line. Taking place immediately post-movie, we have Veronica going full idiot and attempting to take on some cartel bros, finding out that her mom has moved on, reconciling with Keith, and hanging with Wallace and Mac. Don't worry, she solves the case in the end. Grab a drink like the party-goers of Neptune and listen in. Cheers!
Welcome to the new season of Must Be Tuesday! We're starting off Joss Whedon's Firefly with the exposition heavy pilot. We learn almost everything there is to know about the 'verse, the crew and the bad-guy alliance central government. If that wasn't enough, we're introduced to enough catchphrases and linguistic quirks to fill far more than the mere 14 episodes and one movie that make up Firefly's canon. Grab a beer and join us--cheers!
This week we grab a Spotted Cow and discuss the long-awaited Veronica Mars movie, a project that led the way of Kickstarter and fan-backed revivals (see also: Arrested Development). The movie leaves us debating if Veronica is really better off back in Neptune and, honestly, if Neptune is better off with her in it. Overall, it's funny, engaging and well worth the wait. Next up for Must Be Tuesday: a short break, and we will be returning with Firefly, Dollhouse and iZombie! We're pumped and we hope you stick with us. Cheers!
This week on Must Be Tuesday, we discuss the serious, interminable downturn in the episode quality post-Dean murder mystery. Guys, Paul Rudd shows up and these episodes STILL blow. All of our beloved characters are replaced by their pod-CW counterparts, full of angst, teen drama and handholding. It's a calmer, tamer, sweeter Veronica Mars. Bleh.
The Veronica/Logan merry-go-round continues its cycle this week, as they manage to get back together and screw it up in a single Must Be Tuesday podcast ep! A new record. For a long semi-philosophical discussion of the L/V relationship, see the last 30 min of the podcast ep. In other, more fun news, Mac/Parker/V team up to find an escaped research monkey, Mac finds herself a new boytoy, and Keith finally gets a plotline in the dean murder case. Hurrah! Grab a drink and cheers to that. Again, hit us up with any opinions on our next show! Fringe? Gilmore Girls? iZombie?
It's Veronica Mars season two finale time here at Must Be Tuesday! We celebrate Mary's correct guess at the season big bad: Beaver "My Name is Cassidy" Casablancas. Lots of bad dudes get their comeuppance, with Duncan taking out Aaron Echolls, Keith arresting Woody, and Cassidy, well, taking out himself. It's non-stop movement as Veronica figures out the mystery about a third of the way in and it just ramps up from there. Weevil gets screwed, Wallace and Jackie exist, and Logan gets to play the hero. Cheers!
Brand new season of Must Be Tuesday starts today, as we say a fond goodbye to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and an excited hello to Veronica Mars. Episode one goes over the exposition-heavy pilot, as we're introduced to sassy and vindictive high school detective Veronica Mars, sarcastic asshole Logan, former white-knight boyfriend Duncan, Daddy Keith, frenemy Weevil, and ultimate best-buddy Wallace. Grab a beer and join first-time watcher Mary and seasoned VM fan Alli!
What day is it again? The fourth of July holiday leaves us with a weird America-celebrating work week that forces Must Be Tuesday to be Hey, It's Wednesday. Nevertheless, Alli and Mary discuss Buffy's season seven premiere, Lessons, as well as Beneath You. The show returns to its campy horror roots and brings back the joy. Sunnydale High returns at the forefront with Dawn at school, Xander working construction, Buffy with a shiny new job, and Spike crazy in the basement. Celebration shots for a couple of fun episodes. Cheers!
The O.C. Season 3, Episode 12: "The Sister Act". Sisters are doing it for themselves as we're re-introduced to a new and improved Kaitlin Cooper. Meanwhile, Taylor's mom is blackmailing her way into a date with Dr. Neil Roberts... could this lead to Summer getting Taylor as a sister? Our friend Jaleh joins us to talk through the episode and make sense of everything.
Once More with Feeling is Joss Whedon's magnum opus of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It's almost definitely the most well-known and beloved episode of Buffy and as such, we felt it deserved a Very Special Episode of Must Be Tuesday. Music and composition is Mary's profession, so our review this week digs into the musical choices and technicalities with short clips from the episode to aid. Musicals? Comedy? Television? Tap-dancing demons? Dawn being in trouble? This episode's got it all. Grab a whiskey and join us! Cheers.
Holiday celebration shots and martinis for our analysis of alternate universe Buffy episode Superstar. We've also got a special guest this week, fresh from our roommate Christmas bash. Need a breather from family? Must Be Tuesday is here for you. Grab a drink and join!
A standard beer and tequila shots combo begins our chat about two EXCELLENT episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. First, we've got Willow and her Oz-related pain using magic to solve her problems in Something Blue. Then, we've got Joss Whedon's crazy good silent film tribute, Hush. Seriously guys, just go watch it. Then grab a beer and join us for Must Be Tuesday!
