Dave Stewart is a true music icon. Born in Sunderland in 1952 his first love affair was with football – dreaming of a career playing for the Black Cats, but a knee injury and his parents' divorce changed his entire outlook. Music filled a hole - despite a music teacher who described his dreams as ‘idiotic' it became his passion, inspired by his Dad's high-tech (for the 70s!) stereo system, a Robert Johnson blues album and some eye-opening teenage experimentation with acid.He signed to Elton John's record label shortly after leaving school and after several false starts he met Annie Lennox in 1976 and formed a band together called The Tourists – a pre-curser to the significantly more successful 80s project The Eurythmics .In the 45 years since then Dave has done it all – as an artist he's a Grammy winner, as a producer he's won multiple Brit Awards, as a song-writer he's won the prestigious Silver Clef award, he's won a Golden Glove for composing a song with Mick Jagger for Alfie and in 2024 he teamed up with Joss Stone to write a musical version of The Time Traveller's Wife. It's hard to put his contribution to music into context because his impact on popular music is so vast.Let me list just SOME of the artists he's produced, written for or recorded with:Paul McCartney, Bono, Aretha Franklin, Alison Moyet, Bryan Ferry, Sinead O'Connor, No Doubt, Jon Bon Jovi, Bob Geldoff, Bryan Ferry, & Stevie Nicks. In fact in 2011 he briefly formed a supergroup comprised of himself, Mick Jagger, Joss Stone, Damian Marley and A.R. Rahman. He's one of the great innovators – in 1998 his album SlyFi became the first album to be released on the internet – it predates Google, and MySpace and Facebook wouldn't be launched for another SEVEN years. Now in his early 70s he continues to inspire – until Covid he owned and ran a creative members club in London, and through his production company Dave Stewart Entertainment he continues to push musical boundaries and work with some of the world's biggest names in music.Enjoy our chat with an icon.
Send us a textStart with a Grapefruit Rose martini and a question that's equal parts cheeky and practical: how do you find, become, or thrive with a Disney sugar mama or sugar daddy? We take Valentine's energy to Disneyland and beyond, unpacking the social signals of luxury park life—top-tier passes, DVC contracts that stretch across coasts, Minnie Vans as default, and the kind of confidence that comes from knowing you'll never wait more than twenty minutes for anything. From Sweethearts' Nite to late-night walk-ons, we explore what it really feels like to skip “gen pop” and step into concierge mode. Think character breakfasts as a morning ritual, signature meals like Victoria & Albert's as date-night baseline, and premium events that turn a random Tuesday into a memory. We also get honest about the rare air—Club 33 whispers, Golden Oak sightings, and those around-the-world Disney tours that stitch every park into one epic story. It's not just fantasy; there are real cues, communities, and rhythms that define this level of Disney. But perks alone don't make the magic. We map the duties that keep the vibe frictionless: mastering ADRs 60 days out, holding lines so your partner arrives right on time, knowing the perfect pool chairs, and capturing photos that hit favorite angles and light. Add thoughtful shopping instincts—loungefly drops, limited pins, spirit jerseys—and you become the plus-one who makes every splurge feel effortless. Under the humor sits a simple truth: generosity is a love language, and gratitude is how you say it back.If you love Disney, crave smarter park days, and enjoy a little playful strategy with your romance, this one's for you. Wine Barrels, Duomo Marble, and Florence: Paoletti Custom Guitars at NAMM 2026I've been away from Florence for 25 years. I didn't know there was a guitar company like this back home.At NAMM 2026, I found Filippo Martini from Paoletti Custom Guitars—a boutique manufacturer based in the heart of Tuscany, building instruments that are equal parts guitar and artwork.Paoletti does something no one else does: they build guitars from chestnut wood sourced from Italian wine barrels. The material offers a wide harmonic spectrum, but it's difficult to work with. You need to know how to handle it. Founder Fabrizio Paoletti figured it out, and now every guitar they produce shows the natural grain—no opaque finishes, no hiding the wood. The craftsmanship runs deep. Bridges, pickguards, pickups—all made in-house. Necks carved from Canadian maple, roasted on-site. 99% of the process happens in Tuscany. As Filippo put it, "Kilometer zero." Zero miles. Everything local except the screws.Their model is 100% custom. You don't buy a Paoletti off the rack. You tell them your style, your sound, the genre you play. They build around your vision while keeping the Italian essence intact—chestnut wood, Italian-made components, tailored to your idea. But what stopped me cold was the Duomo collection.Eight individual guitars, each hand-engraved by Fabrizio Paoletti himself. Three years of work. The subject: Florence's cathedral—the Duomo di Santa Maria del Fiore. This isn't just decoration. Paoletti secured an official partnership with the Opera del Duomo, the authority that oversees the cathedral. The back of each guitar reproduces the marble floor pattern from inside the Duomo. And when the collection is complete this October, every guitar will contain an actual piece of marble from the cathedral.I got shivers standing there. This is what happens when guitar making meets Italian heritage. It's not about specs or market positioning. It's about place, history, and craft passed down through generations.Filippo invited me to visit the workshop in Florence when I return in April. I'm going. I want to see where this happens—where wine barrel wood becomes an instrument, where cathedral marble gets embedded into a guitar body, where a team of artisans builds one-of-one pieces for players around the world.Florence is known for many things. Leather. Art. Architecture. The Renaissance itself. Now I know it's also home to some of the most distinctive guitars being made anywhere.Paoletti proves that boutique doesn't mean small ambitions. They're partnering with galleries in Dubai, working with the Duomo authorities, and bringing Florence to NAMM.Not bad for a company I didn't even know existed until I walked the show floor and heard an Italian accent.Sometimes you find home in unexpected places.Marco Ciappelli interviews Filippo Martini from Paoletti Custom Guitars at NAMM 2026 for ITSPmagazine.Part of ITSPmagazine's On Location Coverage at NAMM 2026.
In our first episode of 2026, we turn the spotlight on Florence Henri. Drawn to the Bauhaus less by its curriculum than by its people, Henri discovered photography through Lucia Moholy and never looked back. What began as an experiment became a radical reinvention: mirrors, props, fractured spaces — images that redefined modern photography. Henri stayed fiercely artistic, while mentoring a generation of women who would go on to shape the medium themselves: Dora Maar, Lisette Model, Gisèle Freund, Ilse Bing, and more. In this episode I was joined by the head of the Florence Henri Archive Giovanni Battista Martini, art historian Paola Rosina, and curator Roberto Lacarbonara — in a truly Bauhaus-style multilingual conversation, recorded in Switzerland and brought to you in English. And there's more to come: bonus episodes with deep dives into Henri's most iconic photographs, and the full original interview in French/English.

In an era where electric vehicles (EVs) and renewable energy sources are becoming increasingly prevalent, the optimization of battery performance and lifespan has emerged as a critical area of focus. With the rapid advancements in technology, artificial intelligence (AI) is playing a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of batteries, ensuring they not only perform efficiently but also last longer. The conversation with Giovanni from Electra Vehicles highlights the transformative impact of AI on battery technology, particularly in the context of electric vehicles and stationary storage applications.AI Optimizes Battery Performance and LifespanElectra Vehicles, founded in 2015 by Fabrizio Martini, originated from a project aimed at optimizing batteries for space exploration. Martini's experience at NASA, where he worked on battery technology for rovers, inspired him to adapt these innovations for terrestrial applications. The company's core mission revolves around providing an AI-powered "brain" for batteries, enabling them to be monitored, controlled, and optimized effectively. How Electra Vehicles Relieves Range AnxietyOne of the most significant challenges faced by electric vehicle users is range anxiety: the fear of running out of battery power before reaching their destination. Traditional battery systems often provide users with an estimate of remaining charge and distance, but these estimates can be imprecise, with error margins ranging from 15% to 25%. This uncertainty can lead to anxiety and hesitation, deterring potential users from fully embracing electric vehicles. However, Electra Vehicles' technology offers a solution by significantly reducing this error margin to as low as 2%. This enhanced accuracy empowers drivers with precise information about their battery's remaining capacity and range, alleviating concerns and instilling confidence in their vehicle's performance. While it is true that the voltage and amperage of a battery are fixed, the AI technology developed by Electra Vehicles does not increase the actual power output of the battery. Instead, it enhances the user's understanding of the battery's capabilities. For instance, if a driver perceives they have 30 miles left, the AI may reveal that they actually have 40 miles available under optimal conditions. This newfound clarity allows drivers to make informed decisions about their driving habits and charging needs.Extending the Life of a BatteryBeyond simply providing better estimates, Electra's AI technology also offers actionable insights for extending battery life and optimizing performance. By analyzing data and monitoring usage patterns, the AI can recommend strategies to improve efficiency. For example, it might suggest turning off non-essential features, such as the radio or air conditioning, to conserve energy and maximize range. These recommendations can lead to significant improvements in battery longevity, potentially extending the usable life of a battery by up to 40%. This not only benefits the consumer by delaying the need for costly battery replacements but also contributes to a more sustainable approach to battery usage. The implications of AI optimization extend beyond individual electric vehicles to larger applications, such as stationary storage systems used in data centers and renewable energy infrastructures. Here, the ability to monitor and optimize battery performance is crucial for managing energy supply and demand effectively. As renewable energy sources like solar and wind become more integrated into the grid, the need for reliable energy storage solutions becomes paramount. Electra's technology can play a vital role in ensuring that these systems operate at peak efficiency, ultimately leading to a more stable and sustainable energy ecosystem.ConclusionIn conclusion, the integration of artificial intelligence into battery technology represents a significant advancement in optimizing performance and extending lifespan. Companies like Electra Vehicles are at the forefront of this revolution, providing innovative solutions that enhance the user experience for electric vehicle owners and improve the functionality of energy storage systems. As the world continues to shift toward electric mobility and renewable energy, the role of AI in battery optimization will be indispensable in overcoming the challenges associated with energy storage and usage, paving the way for a more sustainable future.Interview by Don Baine, The Gadget Professor.Sponsored by: Get $5 to protect your credit card information online with Privacy. Send us a textA $26 caramelized leek martini set the tone for chaos—in the best way. We start with a fearless taste test inspired by Gio 82 at Epcot, break down our at-home leek-infused gin recipe, and give an honest verdict on whether this savory sipper deserves your park dollars. Then we flip the switch and get wildly creative: what if Danny DeVito took over your favorite Disney and Pixar roles? We explore how a single voice can reshape a classic. Imagine the Lion King's Timon with sharper street smarts, or the Aladdin Sultan with extra lovable bluster. Picture Mike Wazowski recharged with gravelly momentum, Doc Hudson reimagined as a tougher mentor, Mr. Big reinvented as a comedic crime boss, and Honest John upgraded to pure DeVito charm. We don't just slot him into obvious parts—we subvert typecasting with picks like Sadness in Inside Out, Frozone in The Incredibles, and Doug in Up. Along the way, we talk performance dynamics, vocal texture, and why the right casting twist can make an old story feel brand new.Between the sips and the swaps, you'll get practical park tips, a quick bar menu scouting report, and a fresh lens on voice acting that changes how you hear animated characters. Whether you're here for Disney nostalgia, Pixar deep cuts, or the sheer joy of “what if,” this ride is equal parts smart and silly—and surprisingly persuasive.Loved the episode? Tap follow, share it with a Disney-loving friend, and tell us your best Danny DeVito casting pick. And if you're planning a trip, check the show notes for a listener perk you won't want to miss.
"Minu arvates on Martini raamatul tabav pealkiri, sest liigne valgustus teeb lõpuks pimedaks," sekundeeris meile Sandra Laur.Jutuajamise alguses üritasime valgustusest sotti saada. "See on äärmiselt huvitav ja üldhaarav teema, sest ka valgustuslike ideede kriitika tugineb valgustusajastust pärit mõtteraamistikule – kriitilisele mõtlemisele, ratsionaalsusele jne –, millest me ei saa üle ega ümber," ütles Sandra (12. minut). "Valgustusfilosoofid õpetasid inimest oma peaga mõtlema. Käibele läks lendsõna "sapere aude": – "julge mõelda", "söanda olla arukas". Sünnipärase autoriteedi asemele tulid argumendid," jätkas ta samas. Teisisõnu: valgustusajastu käigus tõusis ilmutusliku tõe asemele protseduaalne, avalikule kriitikale avatud tõde.Kuivõrd vaha on laiali valgunud, oleme mitut sajandit hiljem jälle ilmutusliku tõe poole tagasi triivimas. Kuigi vanad blasfeemiaseadused kuulutati mõnedes lääneriikides kehtetuks alles 21. sajandi alguses, pole sõnavabadus viimasel aastakümnel sugugi suurenenud, pigem vastupidi (vt nt Thomas Fazi "The EU's New censorship machine"). See on tõsine probleem, sest "kui akadeemiline ruum muutub keeleliselt suletuks," rääkis Sandra (42. minut), ei kao mahasurutud ideed kuhugi, vaid liiguvad silma alt ära kõlakodadesse, mille vastastikused kokkupuutepunktid jäävad aina väiksemateks." Tulemuseks on üksteisega vaenujalal olevate meediahõimude arvu kiire kasv, mille taandamine kaheks vastasleeriks – liberaalideks ja konservatiivideks, vasak- ja parempoolseteks – on üsna küsitav ettevõtmine.Samas ei jäta Aristoteleselt päritud vastandipaaridele rajatud lääne dualistlik mõttelaad meile siin ka palju teisi võimalusi. Seetõttu kippusid meil keelele kaunis kibedad järeldused (vt David Betz: "The West on Irreversible Path to Civil War"). "Praegune kultuurisõda on väärtuste vaheline sõda – sisuliselt ususõda," ütles Martin (49. minut). Head uudistamist!Hardo Hosted on Acast. It's media day in our year-end 3 Martini Lunch awards and Jim and Greg have plenty to say about how things were covered - if they were covered at all. Specifically, they look at the stories the mainstream media covered far too much, the ones they conveniently ignored because they didn't fit their narrative, and they highlight what they saw as the best stories of 2025.First, they dig into the most overreported stories of the year, with Jim choosing a constant drumbeat from the mainstream media to help get a truly radical candidate elected in New York City. Greg says the media's obsession with turning every Trump story into a possible scandal is non-stop, but there was one incredibly inconsequential construction project in Washington that they just could not shut up about. Then it's on to the stories the media didn't cover much or didn't want to cover. Jim points to the scant media attention given to the remarkable educational advancements happening in Mississippi. Greg focuses on the media's yawning over the persecution of Christians, even when Trump and the pope are speaking out against it.Finally, they reveal their selections for best stories of the year. Jim focuses on the biggest diplomatic achievement of the year, was more than two years in the making, and brought relief or closure to many families. Greg's selection is much more personal, focusing on the incredible achievements of a family friend.Make sure to listen on Wednesday as Greg and Jim unveil their selections for Person of the Year, Loser of the Year, and Turncoat of the Year. New episodes every weekday.
Stanley Tucci nearly broke the internet in 2021 when he made a Negroni on Instagram. But long before that, the award-winning actor built his career around his love of food. He created the iconic food film Big Night, he's written best-selling cookbooks, and now he eats his way through Italy on the show Tucci In Italy. In 2021 he released a memoir, Taste: My Life Through Food, which includes the revelation that a few years ago he battled oral cancer. The experience changed his relationship with food forever. He and Dan discuss that and much more, including the art of eating on camera. This episode originally aired on October 11, 2021, and was produced by Dan Pashman, Emma Morgenstern, Andres O'Hara, Tracey Samuelson, and Jared O'Connell. More year-end awards today! Today, Jim and Greg tackle the fourth installment of the 3 Three Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they offer up their selections for the Best Political Idea, Worst Political Idea, and Boldest Political Tactics for the year. They start with the best ideas of the year. Jim applauds those who are advancing the cutting edge technology that will rapidly change our world. Greg cheers on those fighting to eliminate the most unfair tax of all. Then it's time for the worst political ideas of the year. Jim quickly zeroes in on a big aspect of the Trump economic agenda that may well be hurting the president's own efforts to bring prices down. Greg chides Trump for picking a fight with closest neighbors at a time when the lefties there were about to implode. Now we get five more years of leftist insanity. Finally, they're on to the boldest political tactics for 2025. Jim praises Trump for waving off the naysayers and neutralizing on of the world's major looming threats. Greg gives Trump and Elon Musk credit for trying to shrink our government. Even though it did not achieve all of its goals, at least someone finally tried - something neither party has shown any interest in doing for decades.Don't miss Tuesday's special edition as Jim and Greg reveal their choices for Most Overreported Story, Most Underreported Story, and the Best Story of 2025.New episodes every weekday.

We hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Jim and Greg are back today for the third round of the 3 Martini Lunch Awards. Today, they discuss the Biggest Lie, Best Political Theater, and Worst Political Theater of 2025.They start with the biggest lies of the year. Jim focuses on a political campaign that was built on multiple lies and media doing virtually nothing to call any of it out. Greg's choice centers on a statement from a top administration official that led to major blowback from President Trump's own officials. Then it's time for the best political theater of 2025, with Jim choosing something President Trump does a lot that President Biden avoided whenever possible. Greg suggests theater isn't exactly the right description for his moment, as he focuses on the powerful statement of Erika Kirk at her husband's memorial service. Finally, they cringe remembering the worst political theater of 2025. Jim points out a prominent Democrat politician who was totally AWOL when she was most needed by her constituents. Greg chooses the very same politician (and others) but for a very different reason. Please join us on Monday as Jim and Greg hand out their awards for Best Political Idea, Worst Political Idea, and Boldest Tactic for 2025.New episodes every weekday.
Join Jim and Greg as they offer the second installment of their highly coveted 3 Martini Lunch year-end awards. Today they remark on the people connected to politics that they're most sorry to see pass away in 2025. They also share their choices for rising political stars and those who appear to be fading into political oblivionThey begin with those who left us over the past year. They both select what they consider to be the obvious choice: the shocking, public murder of one of the most powerful and persuasive voices on the right and impact he was having on American politics. Greg also highlights a dedicated policy expert who fought the good fight against Obamacare and the passing of his favorite Democrat. Then it's on to a much happier subject as they consider the rising political stars for 2024. Jim selects a pair of figures from a key swing state who could end up facing off against each other in 2026. Greg chooses a freshman senator who already has a strong track for getting things done. Finally, Jim sees one of the most prominent figures from last year already fading into oblivion. Greg's choice goes beyond a single person to an entire nation. There will be a special replay of a favorite 3 Martini Lunch special on Christmas Day. Today, Jim and Greg begin handing out their prestigious annual 3 Martini Lunch Awards! Starting today and running through New Year's Day, they'll unveil their picks in categories ranging from rising star to the best and worst political ideas, plus the stories the media ignored and the ones they couldn't stop talking about. It all builds toward next week, when Jim and Greg reveal their Person of the Year, Turncoat of the Year, and their political predictions for 2026.In this first installment, Jim and Greg offer their individual selections for Most Overrated Political Figure, Most Underrated Political Figure, and Most Honest Political Figure. In the overrated department, Jim picks a guy who managed to lose two elections this year while acting like he was entitled to the office the entire time. Greg picks a likely 2028 presidential candidate whose record is one of repeated, abysmal failure. When it comes to underrated political figures, Jim and Greg agree on a Trump cabinet member who avoids the spotlight but consistently delivers strong results. Greg also offers an honorable mention to a figure who played a key role in the GOP's victory in the government shutdown fight, even if there's still significant room for improvement in other parts of the job.For Most Honest Political Figure, Jim highlights a Democratic lawmaker who openly criticized his party's incoherent stance during the shutdown and beyond. Greg points to a House member willing to publicly condemn electoral shenanigans committed by a fellow Democrat.Don't miss tomorrow's special edition, when Jim and Greg list the political figures they were sorry to see pass away in 2025. Adam, Joanna, and Zach respond to a listener question about whether more restaurants should allow or even encourage guests to pre-order wine so that it could be opened and decanted ahead of time, leading to a better drinking experience. Would asking for this instantly make you seem like a pretentious jerk, and are American restaurants even really interested in this kind of service beyond the top tier of fine dining? Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch, as they serve up three lousy but important martinis. They chronicle how lots of your tax dollars are being used to help the Taliban and its allies, Indiana Republicans refusing to change the congressional map, and Marjorie Taylor Greene trying to cause as much chaos as possible on her way out of Washington.First, they explain how many millions of our tax dollars are spent every day to help needy women and children in Afghanistan through the United Nations. But there's a problem: The Taliban controls how the money is spent. So their allies get lots of help while everyone else gets the shaft.Next, they react to the Republican-controlled Indiana State Senate rejecting a new congressional map that might have given the GOP a chance to win all nine House seats in the Hoosier state. Finally, they shake their heads as Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene reportedly wants to boot House Speaker Mike Johnson before she exits Congress in January. Please visit our great sponsors:Go to https://OmahaSteaks.com, use code 3ML for 50% off sitewide + $35 off during the Sizzle All the Way Sale.Try Quo for free at https://Quo.com/3ML and keep your existing number—Quo means no missed calls and no missed customers.Get up to half off plants and more for your yard. Join Jim and Greg for the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they tackle Erika Kirk's fierce pushback against conspiracy theories surrounding her husband's murder, President Trump's plan to block states from regulating artificial intelligence, and why so many people seem horrified by large families.First, they applaud Erika Kirk for publicly condemning Candace Owens and others promoting baseless claims that Charlie Kirk's murder was an inside job at Turning Point USA. Although not mentioning Owens or anyone else by name, Kirk denounced the accusations as dangerous, unhealthy, and driven by a “mind virus.” Jim says she shouldn't have to defend her family from such nonsense but he appreciates her speaking out.Next, they shake their heads as President Trump prepares an executive order barring states from regulating artificial intelligence. Trump argues the U.S. needs a single national standard, not fifty, when it comes to AI. Jim points out that an executive order cannot stop state legislation. A congressional statute could do that but Congress hasn't even begun to address AI. Both Jim and Greg say protecting personal liberty should take priority over staying ahead in the AI race. Finally, they discuss the case of Philip Rivers, the longtime NFL quarterback who signed with the Indianapolis Colts practice squad nearly five years after retiring. The news has also revived widespread social media mockery of Rivers because he has ten children. Why are so many people angry or uncomfortable with the idea of large families? Please visit our great sponsors:Listeners can start a new tradition this December with 10% off at BetterHelp—visit https://BetterHelp.com/3ML to get started.Try Quo for free at https://Quo.com/3ML and keep your existing number—Quo means no missed calls and no missed customers.Get up to half off plants and more for your yard. Martini, anyone? Who doesn't love a nice cheeky cocktail for happy hour or date night? The New York Times has recently compiled a list of 25 must-try cocktails in the city. Becky Hughes, New York Times Cooking assistant editor and cocktail enthusiast, discusses which drinks made the list, and listeners share where they order their favorite cocktail in New York.
Join Jim and Greg for a special Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they reveal their Black Friday gift choices for political figures, from lawmakers to voters and from podcasters to a former president.First, Jim has multiple gift ideas for Candace Owens in response to her assertions of major conspiracies related to the assassination of Charlie Kirk, including suggestions of an inside job from Kirk's own organization and claiming that Kirk himself confirmed her suspicions in her dreams. Greg offers a practical gift for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. He also has a gift for all Senate Democrats who seem to think that they have to use profanity to make their points.Next, Jim has multiple gifts in mind for radical Maine U.S. Senate hopeful Graham Platner, who has struggled since revealing he's been wearing a Nazi-related tattoo for nearly two decades. Greg has a gift for every New York City resident now that they're about to experience four years of Mayor Zohran Mamdani. Just so they know what to expect. Finally, Jim has a gift for Greg and himself based on the very disappointing election results in Virginia this month. As you settle in for your Thanksgiving feast and time with family and friends, Jim and Greg are spending the day with their loved ones as well. But we still have you covered! Today, we revisit Jim's report from his October trip to India, including how the opportunity arose and why it happened now. He also explains how Indians are currently viewing the Trump administration and the overall relationship between India and the U.S. as well as the emerging threat from China.First, Jim shares how he got invited on the trip, the significance of the timing, and more. He also goes into detail about the RSS, a powerful group in Indian politics that is closely connected to current Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.Next, Jim details how Indian officials currently view the United States and President Trump. Some strain has emerged in the relationship over the past year, but it has less to do with the tariffs applied by Trump and more to do with how the administration intervened in the tensions between India and Pakistan earlier in the year. Finally, Jim reveals how India is watching China's relentless military buildup with increasing concern, both in terms of a possible invasion of Taiwan and India's own border problems with the Chinese. And, of course, Jim offers some additional humor and flavor from his visit to the world's most populous nation. Please visit our great sponsors:Save big on unforgettable gifts with Omaha Steaks. Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they dig into President Trump reducing several key tariffs, Megyn Kelly's confounding comments about Jeffrey Epstein, and Sen. John Fetterman how criticism he gets from the left is far worse than what he hears from the right. First, they welcome President Trump's decision to lower tariffs on coffee, bananas, and other major imports from four Latin American nations. Jim sees this as a quiet admission that tariffs have been driving up prices. They also hope this signals a broader push to ease the cost of living in this country. Next, parents may want the kids out of the room for this segment. Jim and Greg react to Megyn Kelly saying a source close to the Jeffrey Epstein case believes Epstein was not technically a pedophile because he preferred "barely legal" girls around fifteen years old instead of pre-pubescent victims. Jim and Greg are horrified by multiple aspects of her statement and discuss the Trump administration's terrible handling of this issue. Finally, they highlight Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman saying there is no comparison between the vitriol he receives from the right and the left. Fetterman says angry Republicans call him names, while the left openly wishes for his death. We are not the same. Please visit our great sponsors:OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ designed to keep skin healthier, stronger, and more resilient over time. Join Jim and Greg for the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they celebrate the end of a pointless government shutdown, blast United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for trying to silence free speech online, and recoil at how shockingly bad college students have become at math.First, Jim and Greg applaud the House vote to end the government shutdown, rip Democrats for their six weeks of incoherent grandstanding, and look ahead to late January when this may happen all over again.Next, they unload on Secretary-General Guterres for claiming online “disinformation and misinformation” are poisoning discourse and insisting that tech companies have a responsibility to crack down on speech that supposedly distorts the facts. Guterres says this speech he doesn't like is hampering the UN's ability to enact its climate agenda. Well, that's a shame. Jim not only defends free speech but points out that the UN should not be involved in this debate at all. Finally, they shudder as college professors warn that incoming students are much worse at math than ever before. One study finds fewer than 20 percent can handle middle school–level math, and many struggle with even the most basic concepts. Jim and Greg consider how so many young adults made it to college so poorly prepared. Please visit our great sponsors:Get 10% off your first month of BetterHelp by visiting https://BetterHelp.com/3ML today!OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ designed to keep skin healthier, stronger, and more resilient over time. Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they weigh in on EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin blasting Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for their incompetence concerning the California wildfires, housing officials repeating the mistakes that led to the 2008 financial crisis, and Michigan's “Mamdani” trying to erase his radical record.First, they applaud Zeldin for imploring Newsom and Bass to get to work to help people rebuild after the wildfires. Jim notes that less than one percent of those who lost homes or businesses have received permits to rebuild, even after nearly a year. They also consider how this glaring failure could hurt Newsom's presidential ambitions.Next, they facepalm as Fannie Mae removes a minimum credit score needed to be approved for housing loans. Yes, buying a home is really tough for a lot of people right now, but Jim and Greg recall how giving mortgages to people who clearly could not afford them led to economic disaster just 17 years ago. Finally, they highlight Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abu El-Sayed deleting past anti-police and anti-border agent posts in an attempt to hide his radical views. El-Sayed once called police “standing armies we deploy against our own people” and smeared border agents as “white supremacists.” El-Sayed is very competitive in a three-candidate race for the party's nomination. Please visit our great sponsors:Get 10% off your first month of BetterHelp by visiting https://BetterHelp.com/3ML today!OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ designed to keep skin healthier, stronger, and more resilient over time. Former Chief Assistant U.S. Attorney and National Review Contributing Editor Andy McCarthy is in for Jim on Tuesday's 3 Martini Lunch. Join Andy and Greg as they discuss the fate of Obamacare subsidies, how to stop Chinese nationals from buying land near U.S. military bases, and the leftist revolt (again) vs. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer.First, as Democrats demand the extension of Obamacare premium subsidies, Andy and Greg explain how they were supposedly a "temporary" provision during the pandemic and should be scrapped. But Andy points out that the subsidies were another step in the Dems' tireless push for government-run health care, so rooting them out will be very difficult.Next, they react to reports that a convicted Chinese fraudster owns land adjacent to the Missouri Air Force base that's home to the B-2 Stealth Bombers that that targeted Iranian nuclear sites in June. Andy explains how there is some tension in law when it comes to stopping our top foreign adversary from getting so close to our most sensitive sites, but there's something far more important than the courts or Congress when it comes to stopping the Chinese from doing this. Finally, they shed zero tears for Sen. Chuck Schumer as the increasingly left-wing base revolts over how Senate Democrats handled the latest shutdown fight and Schumer's feeble attempts to appease the base through this pointless shutdown left him even more of a pariah in his own party. And as awful as Schumer has been, it's almost certain the next Senate Democratic leader will be even worse. Please visit our great sponsors:OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ designed to keep skin healthier, stronger, and more resilient over time. Ricochet Co-Founder Rob Long is in for Jim today. Join Rob and Greg for the Monday 3 Martini Lunch as they chronicle the Senate Dems finally ending their pointless shutdown, President Trump promising millions of Americans money from tariff revenues, and now the New York Times reports how much Zohran Mamdani's agenda will cost.First, they welcome the news that eight Senate Democrats voted to end debate on a bill to fund the government, clearing the way for its passage. While the progressive left is furious at those who “caved,” Rob notes the shutdown strategy was never going to succeed. He also explains why Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy is spectacularly wrong in arguing that the shutdown was necessary to “save democracy.”Next, they shake their heads as President Trump promising to send $2,000 checks to low and middle income Americans due to increased revenues from tariffs. Rob and Greg explain why this is not a good idea and how very recent history gives us the proof. They also scratch their heads over the emerging idea of 50-year mortgages. Finally, they find the timing suspicious as the New York Times waits until after the election to reveal the massive costs of New York City Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani's proposals for free childcare and bus rides. They also discuss Mamdani's idea of raising more revenue to pay for all this by increasing fines. Please visit our great sponsors:Get 10% off your first month of BetterHelp by visiting https://BetterHelp.com/3ML today!OneSkin uses the patented OS-01 Peptide™ designed to keep skin healthier, stronger, and more resilient over time. SEASON 4 EPISODE 30: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: If Andrew can no longer be PRINCE because of Jeffrey Epstein, Trump can no longer be PRESIDENT because of Jeffrey Epstein. I think Trump understands this. I have no doubt Mike Johnson understands this. I believe even large swaths of the otherwise imbecilic MAGA understand this. It is why Trump and Johnson and the others are starving the needy; dissolving Congress; destroying the domestic balance of power and gutting the work infrastructure at airports, government agencies, and services. It is why they are even cutting the legs out from under every Republican candidate in tomorrow’s handful of elections. Andrew has been convicted of nothing; Trump has been convicted of nothing. There are no astounding legal findings against Andrew; there are no astounding legal findings against Trump. There are probably no smoking guns about Andrew in the Epstein files; there are probably no smoking guns about Trump in the Epstein files. The status of their scandals is roughly identical. Just as importantly: the English monarchy wants to publicly atone for Andrew and based on heavy news reporting in the UK it is apparently pressing Andrew to reveal what he knows about Epstein – presumably about TRUMPStein. Meanwhile only Trump, would throw a Gatsby party with himself as Gatsby and scantily-clad women in giant Martini glasses, in the middle of his own sex ring crisis. In any event: If Andrew can no longer be PRINCE because of Jeffrey Epstein. Trump can no longer be PRESIDENT because of Jeffrey Epstein. B-Block (28:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: After O'Donnell flames him, Scott Jennings insists Lawrence O'Donnell, whose show is beating Jennings's CNN show in the ratings by 60%, is irrelevant. Karolyin Leavitt was appalled that there was a bathroom inside the White House. And before tomorrow's election, Andrew Cuomo has proclaimed himself "Mayor." C-Block (36:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Well the World Series ended just as I told you it would: With everybody demanding Fox never again interview a manager during Game 7. I was a Fox TV Baseball Dugout Reporter: Here's Why We Don't Need Them (except for emergencies; in 40 games in which I filled that role, there were maybe three emergencies. I'll recount the best of them - the on-field dispute that came this close to turning into a riot involving the New York Yankees, the Boston Cops, and thousands of drunken Red Sox fans. And it ended with me being ordered to sit, essentially, on George Steinbrenner's lap).See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
