The Impact of Radio Silence on Your Ex Radio silence is one of the most effective strategies after a breakup, particularly if your ex was the one who ended the relationship. It works hand in hand with no contact but has its own unique impact. By removing yourself from your ex's life completely—no texting, no social media updates, no interaction—you create a noticeable absence that forces them to feel the consequences of their decision. Get Coach Lee's Reunion Blueprint to get your ex back for only $7 at https://ReunionBlueprint.com. Breaking the Seek-and-Find Pattern In today's world, we're used to getting answers instantly. If we have a question, we Google it. If we need to know something, we check social media or text someone. But when it comes to people, things work differently. When you go silent, your ex loses the ability to check up on you. They can't find out how you're doing, who you're with, or whether you've moved on. That can be incredibly frustrating for them because it breaks their expectation that they can always seek information and find it. This is an important first consequence of the breakup—they no longer have access to you. Before, they were used to knowing what was going on in your life, from daily activities to future plans. Now, they get nothing. And that absence can feel jarring. Forcing Them to Miss Your Intimacy Regardless of why they ended the relationship, if it lasted six months or more, your ex will inevitably miss the intimacy you shared. That's the part of a relationship people tend to miss the most. Even in shorter relationships, there is a level of connection that gets disrupted when one person disappears. Many times, after a breakup, an ex will check social media, scroll through old pictures, or casually ask mutual friends about you. This gives them a sense of staying emotionally connected, even if the relationship has ended. But when you enforce radio silence, they lose that option. If all they can see are old posts and outdated pictures, it doesn't satisfy them. They want new information—something to confirm that you're still there, still missing them, still possibly open to reconciliation. But when you disappear, they feel the full impact of what it means to no longer have you in their life. Creating a Psychological Void The mind has a tendency to fixate on what it cannot have. When you go silent, your ex is left with questions: How are you feeling about the breakup? Are you moving on? Have you met someone new? That curiosity is crucial. If they assume they can check in on you whenever they want, they feel in control. But when that information is no longer available, their curiosity can quickly turn into concern, then regret. People often think that their ex expects them to beg, plead, or try to convince them to stay. When you do the opposite—when you vanish—they don't know what to think. It's unexpected, and that makes it powerful. Preventing Closure Get Coach Lee's Reunion Blueprint to get your ex back for only $7 at https://ReunionBlueprint.com. Many times, an ex will look for ways to feel justified in their decision. They want closure on their terms. If they see you struggling, reaching out, or making it clear that you still want them, it gives them a sense of relief. They feel that breaking up was the right choice. But when they can't see any evidence of your emotions, they are left in a state of uncertainty. They don't know if you're heartbroken or if you've already moved on. That lack of closure leaves the door open for them to second-guess their decision. Triggering Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) People don't like the idea of being left out. If your ex believes they still have a place in your life, even from a distance, they won't feel a strong urge to return. But when you go silent, their mind starts to assume things: You must be out having fun. You must be doing things they don't know about. Maybe you've already found someone new. These thoughts create a fear of missing out—on your life, your happiness, and possibly even a reconciliation. Making Yourself Inaccessible There's a big difference between knowing you can reach someone and realizing you might not be able to. Radio silence creates the illusion that you are out of reach. Even if your ex technically could contact you, they hesitate. Why? Because they don't know how you'll respond—or if you'll respond at all. And when people feel they can't have something, they often want it more. Creating a Phantom Relationship Over time, your ex may find themselves mentally engaging with you even though you're not around. They will replay memories, imagine conversations, and try to recreate the intimacy they lost. At first, this might feel satisfying to them. But it doesn't take long for them to realize that reminiscing is not the same as actually having you in their life. That realization can lead them to question the breakup. The Power of Absence When done correctly, radio silence makes your ex wonder about you constantly. It creates an emotional gap that only you can fill. And the longer they go without answers, the more their mind works against them. They might start to feel regret. They might worry they've lost you for good. And in some cases, they may even become obsessed with the idea of getting you back. But none of that can happen if you're constantly reminding them you're still there. That's why silence is so powerful—it forces them to feel the weight of the breakup. So if you're wondering what to do after a breakup, consider this: Sometimes, the best thing you can do is nothing at all. Let them feel your absence. Let them wonder. Let them regret. And if they truly care, they will come looking for you. Get Coach Lee's Reunion Blueprint to get your ex back for only $7 at https://ReunionBlueprint.com. What kind of a reaction should you expect when you disrespect the latrine? Is it possible for military folks to just have some fun after hours? Find out, the answers to these questions and more on this weeks "sode" of The Cammo Comedy Show Podcast! If you have any funny military stories of your own that you would like to share, drop us a line at:stories@cammocomedy.com or Leave a voicemail at (531) 222-6146 Sadly, the voicemail will only record in 2 minute blocksWe are here to make you laugh, but behind this there is the imbedded philosophy of, "No One Left Behind." Sadly, 22 vets per day commit suicide, approximately 67,500 vets are homeless and thousands struggle with everyday life after service. What we hope to accomplish is providing a fun place to gather that will have a similar feel to the conversations that happen at the VFW or American Legion between vets. Since the latest generations of vets are not really going to these places anymore, we are making it happen online. We believe that the sense of community will help some who struggle, while providing stories about the good times that we can all laugh at!An additional part of this show is capturing the oral history of the military over the past few decades, so if you happen to know a veteran who served during WW2, Korean War or Vietnam eras, we would love to hear from them. Obviously, we want to hear stories from all eras, but we have special respect for the older generations. SpaceFest, run by Greywood Arts in partnership with the National Space Centre (NSC) and supported by Taighde Éireann - Research Ireland, celebrates Science Week by combining science and the arts to explore the cosmos. This year's festival offers a week-long programme for adults, teens, and families, running from Sunday, 10 November through Sunday, 17 November. Attendees can look forward to experiments, exhibitions, tours, classes, workshops, and more, all accessible at https://spacefest.ie. Now in its fourth year, SpaceFest is expanding beyond its previous home base at the NSC. 2024 events will be held across Cork City at venues including Marina Market, UCC, Blackrock Castle Observatory, and Cork County Cricket Club. In East Cork, activities will take place at Greywood Arts (Killeagh) and the National Space Centre (Midleton). Some of the dozen SpaceFest events around Cork City and County include: Space Cocktails Speakeasy (€20): What does a nebula taste like in liquid form? What cocktail could we make with ingredients found on Mars? Dr Alfredo Carpineti, also known as the Astroholic, will lead an Astro-inspired mixology workshop with hands-on demonstrations. Ballymaloe-trained chef, and Food Truck alumni Niamh Hergarty will pair tastings inspired by the first fermentation on the ISS. It's About Time: Distant Galaxies Poetry Workshop (Free): Participants will have the opportunity to tour UCC's historic 1880 Crawford Observatory in a private visit led by UCC Head of Astrophysics Dr Paul Callanan. A 90-minute workshop led by poet Kerri Sonnenberg will follow, pondering how images of distant galaxies from billions of years in the past, their light just now reaching us, causes us to reconsider what we think we know about time. Stellar Perspectives at Solaris: (Free): An astrophotography exhibit featuring images of the heavens and night skies over Ireland. The nine photographers whose work is displayed represent members of photography, astrophotography and astronomy clubs from across the country as well as independent photographers. The week culminates with Cosmic Debris (Free), an immersive multimedia exhibition that challenges the audience to rethink our place in the cosmos and the impact we leave behind. Held at the National Space Centre beneath the site's iconic 32-metre Big Dish, tickets include a tour of the facility, which only opens to the public for this annual event. Greywood Artists-in-residence Nicholas Carn (UK), Kerry Guinan (IE) and artist/engineer Luisa Charles (UK) present collaboratively devised kinetic, levitating sculptures and moving images in response to the issue of space debris. Selected from over 100 applicants, these three internationally exhibited artists engaged with both Blackrock Castle Observatory and UCC's Crawford Observatory during their residency at Greywood Arts in Killeagh in order to bring hard science into the creative interpretation on exhibit. Big Listening and Radio Silence, featuring sound, sculptures and listening devices created by nearly 150 young participants from Greywood's space-themed STEAM programme, will also be on display for visitors to see and interact with. As one of a number of accessibility initiatives rolled into the Festival, a special session for Deaf and Hard of Hearing visitors facilitated by ISL interpreter Keira O'Connell is available for booking online with the rest of the week-long programme at https://spacefest.ie. In this episode, host Mike Flanagan welcomes Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the creators of Radio Silence, a collective of TV and film creatives who blend horror with comedy in a way that is entirely their own. From their early days as scrappy DIY filmmakers to helming some of the most iconic franchises in horror, they are also unique for their loyalty and partnership. What began with the popular online comedy channel ‘Chad, Matt and Rob' evolved into a moniker that branded such work as the beloved VHS anthology series, Devils Do, Southbound, Ready or Not, and 2022's revitalization of the Scream franchise. Their most recent film is this year's vampire movie, Abigail. They are well known by the name they chose to represent their filmmaking collective: Radio Silence.

If we learned anything from this week's film, it's that the “gig economy” will kill you!! That's right, we hook up with our old friends Radio Silence to discuss the new kiddy vampire flick, ABIGAIL!! Before we get fully rolling, we have a non-spoiler section for those who haven't caught the film yet. Then we dive into movie theater etiquette, trailer reveals, blood explosions, severed head balancing, too many teeth problems, breaking on SNL, and we worship at the alter of “disturbingly sexy” Dan Stevens!! All this, plus Vampire Breakthrough, call for justice for Melissa Barrera, and bite into a juicy edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Welcome to a very special edition of Collider Ladies Night. Not only does this episode feature a personal favorite, but that favorite just became the first Ladies Night third-timer — Melissa Barrera. It was immediately evident that Barrera is an ideal Ladies Night guest during our first chat in January 2022 for Scream, one brimming with enthusiasm and passion for her craft, and for the art of filmmaking in general. That became even more undeniable after connecting at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival for Carmen's world premiere, and then again in March 2023 for a second Ladies Night in celebration of the release of Scream VI. One of the greatest joys of having two Ladies Night conversations a mere year apart with Barrera? Seeing how much she manages to accomplish in that short span, and hearing about how deeply she considers those experiences and how that impacts her goals and perspective on the industry going forward. At that point, making the independent feature, Your Monster, which just premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, heavily influenced her priorities for herself in filmmaking. In March 2023 she explained, “I had a mentality of like, I need to do something big to make a splash and to make a name for myself so that I can green light projects.” However, after working on Your Monster and also The Collaboration, that switched to, “I just want to do projects that speak to my soul and that stretch me.”Perspective shifts happen often, and should. What good are our experiences if we don't grow and learn from them? Barrera, however, powered through a rather seismic one since our last Collider Ladies Night interview after she was shockingly fired from Scream 7 due to social media posts regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. During this new Ladies Night interview, Barrera detailed how that and other recent experiences in Hollywood have heavily impacted her understanding of what she's here to do. From there we lean into yet another new release that solidifies Barrera as a horror genre powerhouse, and bonafide movie star, her latest collaboration with Radio Silence, Abigail. Hosted on Acast.
