Throughout the Bible, we read passages detailing visions and dreams. Dreams and visions are two different things. Visions are described by some as “waking dreams.” I don't agree with that interpretation. I believe when a prophet or disciple was experiencing a vision, they were literally taken to the place or TIME where the action was occurring. And most of those visions were pretty fantastical! These dreams often came at pivotal moments, altering the course of history and shaping the lives of those who received them.Our springboard for today's discussion is: Genesis 41:15-16 – "And Pharaoh said to Joseph, ‘I have had a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it. I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.' Joseph answered Pharaoh, ‘It is not in me; God will give Pharaoh a favorable answer.'"Joseph, the son of Jacob, received prophetic dreams that foretold his future rise to power, yet his journey was marked by hardship before fulfillment. Later, Joseph interpreted Pharaoh's dreams, providing wisdom that saved nations from famine. Daniel, another dream interpreter, received visions that revealed God's plan for future kingdoms, demonstrating God's sovereignty over history. Solomon received wisdom in a dream, an encounter that set him apart as one of the greatest rulers in Israel's history. The apostle Paul was redirected in his missionary journey through a dream, leading him to preach the gospel in Macedonia.These examples remind us that God still speaks today, sometimes through dreams that offer direction, encouragement, or warning. In fact, every letter of the Hebrew alphabet represents a number.You might see a number in your dream, or you might be entering into a a hotel room, and you see a number on the door in a dream, or you just consistently run into a number in your waking life. Where, oh, my gosh! I just paid $2 and 22 cents again. Oh, interesting! I just went to to a restaurant and they gave me Number 22 as my number. When you start to see patterns, when you start to see things, repeat, those are little confirmations of God trying to get your attention. It is important that we pay attention to these things, cause God speaks all kinds of ways that are often confounding to our natural mind. So we need to be alive in our spirit.
