Zum einen, weil die Story von “Hundreds of Beavers” weder besonders breit noch besonders tief ist, und zum zweiten, weil sie nicht der entscheidende Punkt bei der Frage ist, ob man den Film sehen möchte. Also in aller Kürze: Nachdem das Apfelweinimperium von Jean in einer riesigen Explosion zu Grunde gegangen ist, findet er sich im erbarmungslosen Winter des amerikanischen Nordens wieder: Zuerst muss er ums Überleben kämpfen, wird schließlich Lehrling bei einem erfahrenen Trapper. Und beschließt nach dessen Tod, die titelgebenden Hunderte von Bibern zu fangen, um die Frau seiner Träume heiraten zu können, die Tochter eines grimmigen Pelzhändlers ist. Was bei diesem Film im Zentrum steht, ist nicht seine Geschichte sondern seine Inszenierung: Ein schwarzweißer Stummfilm, vollgepfropft mit Cartoonsounds und albernen Gags. Die Tiere - egal ob Biber, Hase, Hund, Wolf oder Pferd - gespielt von Menschen in billigen Tierkostümen. Von der Action orientiert an klassischen Slapstickkomödien und Looney Tunes Cartoons, von der Ästhetik inspiriert von expressionistischen Stummfilmen, von der Struktur angelehnt an Videospiel-Grinds. Ganz unabhängig von der Qualität der Ausführung und dem Remix-Charakter vielleicht der originellste Film der letzten zehn Jahre… Ich habe so etwas in der Form jedenfalls noch nicht gesehen… du, Johannes?

I asked St. Thérèse to send me red roses if she approved of my boyfriend becoming my fiancé. At the grocery store, right next to the pop I was about to buy, was a dozen red roses that someone had obviously dumped. ---------- Hi! Trapper Jack here. We have some very cool stories of saintly intercession! This episode emphasizes that the Saints are not objects of worship, but heavenly friends who pray for us. Elizabeth and I are still scratching our heads on how a particular ring found its way back into our kitchen and was discovered in a most impossible place. Leslie, a non-Catholic, decided to throw a prayer toward St. Anthony, in hopes of getting her dog back. She also let St. Anthony know that it was her first time, and that Trapper Jack said it was a good idea. Meanwhile, Sarah was looking to St. Thérèse of Lisieux for her usual sign of roses, if the saint was on board with Sarah's choice for a husband. A dozen red roses were soon found in the grocery store where red roses should never be found. Finally, Steve recounts his personal encounter with the future St. Padre Pio, who suddenly stopped after mass to give a special blessing to the young boy. In the 1970s, Gregory Harrison went east to Hollywood. The son of Catalina Island's glass bottom boat captain, Gregory began dreaming of a career in acting when a Doris Day movie was filmed on and named after his father's Glass Bottom Boat. Now 120 IMDB credits into his career, Gregory joins us for a debriefing.After serving as an Army medic during the Viet Nam War, Gregory's guest star appearance on MASH in 1976 foreshadowed his earning the role of Gonzo Gates on Trapper John MD in 1979, which was around the time Trapper began to look more like Pernell Roberts than Wayne Rogers. Gregory starred in the TV version of Logan's Run, a role that required a lot of running, which trained him for an appearance on Battle of the Network Stars where he met his future wife, Randi Oaks (competing for a rival network.) He's most proud of his role in Centennial, the epic mini-series based on the James Michener novel. A TV event so beloved that fan gatherings are held today where enthusiasts can tour the original sets!Gregory just completed a three and a half year run on General Hospital, his first soap, on which he got to guest star with his daughter, Lily Anne Harrison. Hallmark fans know him as Joe O'Toole on the Signed, Sealed and Delivered movie series. And a fun fact is that the 8x10 glossy that Gregory is most often asked to sign is a shirtless pose from the TV movie, For Ladies Only, in which a struggling actor makes ends meet by stripping. In this episode of the Houndsman XP podcast, the boys renew a longtime friendship with Louisiana's Mike Cauley, best known for the successful exploits of his Bayou Cajun Plott Hound pack on wild hogs and on bears, both the blacks of the Northwoods of the US and Canada and the giant browns of Sweden.Cauley primarily hunts hogs in the swamps and bayous of southeastern Louisiana where he has caught hundreds of the species over the years. He has also made three trips to Sweden to hunt the country's huge brown bears after shipping several Plott Hounds to hunters there. One of the bears taken with Cauley-bred Plotts ranks fourth among Sweden's largest trophy bears. Cauley's experiences hunting brown bears in Sweden are thoroughly examined.Discussions move to questions about why he chose hogs as his game of choice and why he chose the Plott breed over other breeds of hounds. An in-depth discussion evolves concerning the bulldog's role in hunting hogs, what makes a good catch dog and how hounds and bulldogs are trained to work together. Cauley's favorite bloodlines of bulldogs and curs used for catching dangerous wild boars are also explored.Our hosts implore Cauley to describe the typical Deep South hog hunt with dogs, the type of territory he hunts and the type of equipment he uses on the hunt. Cauley also discusses the advantages and the pitfalls of using the same dogs on hogs and bears. At age 36, Tiffany was living in a world of daily drug usage, nightmares, and demons, with only a small bit of relief by praying for the intercession of the archangel Saint Michael. Tiffany's prayers to Jesus seemed to go unnoticed. She assumed that Jesus was not offering His help because she did not deserve God's love. Tiffany soon discovered that nothing could be further from the truth. In this concluding episode, the plan of Jesus is fully exercised, and God's glory is shown. It turns out Ms. Trapper is very skilled at snow.Sam and Charlie spend the day tormenting their neighbor and getting in trouble for it, receiving a stern reminder that Santa Claus is coming to town.Bernadette spends the day with her extended family, wishing they wouldn't do the same thing every year.It's Christmas Eve morning, and Charlie wastes no time getting into trouble by freeing a bunch of caged turkeys.Danny spends the day trying to figure out how to talk to Sam when he sees her at her family's shop later. He also receives bad news from his dad—he won't be home for Christmas due to the snow.Meanwhile, all the adults in Bernadette's family end up getting stranded in the snow with no way to get home.Back to the beginning: Santa is coming to save everyone's Christmas, but the blizzard is really something.Of course, Santa knows all. He whips up something special for Danny.He manages to get all the presents down the chimney at Bernadette's house.And, of course, Sam gets what she wants. However, Santa thinks Charlie is naughty, so he leaves nothing for her. But Sam and Charlie are twins, and Santa mistook them, so he left the gifts on Charlie's bed. When Charlie realizes what Santa did, she puts all the gifts on Sam's bed.Santa receives an alert that a naughty kid has turned nice, so he turns back to make sure Charlie knows she is officially on the nice list.It's Christmas morning, and Charlie is shocked to see the gifts.Bernadette decides it's her job to guide the kids in making this Christmas special and new, just like the play.Danny is excited to see his amazing Christmas present but is sad to find out that his mom unexpectedly has to go to work. While moping around, he notices that his neighbor, Ms. Trapper, looks awfully lonely. Since they had some fun building snowmen together, he figures, what could it hurt? When she finds out his mom is at work, they work together to surprise his mom with a magical igloo lit with Christmas lights and a wonderful Christmas dinner.As Bernadette's parents finally make it home, they realize that they can't find her younger sister, who has taken a game of hide-and-seek very seriously.So the whole town comes together to find her, thanks in part to Danny and Sam, who are now officially a couple.The next day, everyone shows up for the annual Boxing Day cold plunge and celebrates the beauty of Wellington at Sea.

It's a particular piece of music that plays while Superman is taking Lois Lane on a flight over Metropolis. We hear her thoughts. As she wonders, 'Can you read my mind? 'I'm holding hands with a god.' Spiritualized, the scene leads us to the reality that God is always reading our minds. If you reflect on the last few episodes, it's all about our minds. Are we sharing the mind of God, or have we created God in our image? Sadly, we are finding out how often we are in opposition to our heavenly Father, and His Biblical View. “The caller on my radio show said that she always felt a presence in the car on her way into work. Maryann then said, ‘Yes, he's in the back seat. He's looking at your blue butterfly clip that holds your ponytail.' The caller let out a huge scream!” ---------- I wasn't sure if I believed in ghosts or not. Then, I met Maryann. For 25 consecutive Halloween mornings, Maryann Winkowski, who inspired the CBS television hit series Ghost Whisperer, would join me on the radio. We would take calls from listeners who believed they had a ghost in their house. Many did. I would push Maryanne to prove that she could see what she said that she could see. She did so with dazzling accuracy. I have never seen anyone prove the existence of ghosts better than Maryann. She turned the subject matter into a no-brainer for me and the listening audience. I'm going back into the archives ten years for this interview with Cleveland's best-known ghostbuster. Beyond stating the case that ghosts are real, the overwritten message is what can happen in the afterlife, when we become so irrevocably stuck to the physical things of this earth. I had some knock down drag out arguments with God. ‘Where's my husband? Everyone else is married.' That's when I had two dreams about my future husband. ---------- Hi! Trapper Jack here.  I remember reading a much-publicized Newsweek article, almost 20 years ago, that said single women over 40 were more likely to be killed by a terrorist then to find a mate. Cheery thought, yes? Fortunately, it was nonsense, but caught on as a hapless truth of a middle-aged life.  Question… Did you pray to have God provide your spouse? Did you pray after marrying the ‘wrong' one? Did you receive a sign that your mate was on the way. In other words, was God invited into the discussion? Love conquers all in this podcast episode as Jennifer finally had her marriage prayers answered at age 46. Vickie waited eleven years for the guy to show up that she had seen in a vision. Gina was apparently married to the wrong man for 25 years. Miraculously, a pilgrimage Gina and her husband made to Medjugorje had Gina asking her newly converted fellow, ‘who are you and what did you do with my husband?' These three stories would fall under the category of, ‘with God, all things are possible.' "As soon as I turned the corner and saw it behind the glass, the hair stood up on the back of my neck and I felt this incredible warmth. It was like ‘whoa!'" ---------- Hi! Trapper Jack here. As I think about it, it's really a rather simple story. Rich wanted something. He prayed for it. He got it.  Did Rich pray directly to anyone of the three in the Trinity? No. The one he approached for his intercessory prayer happens to be the one known as the Saint of impossible causes. Here, God is awakening us to a basic truth. However you approach God, He is listening. In this case, it was the communion of Saints who were asked to intercede for Rich. Some ask, "Why would you pray to dead people?" Well, first off, they are not dead. Even Jesus was seen by some of His apostles talking to ‘dead' people, namely, Moses and Elijah. Maybe a bigger question is, what does prayer while looking at the Saint's bone remains, have to do with anything? In this case, Rich, was dealing with irreversible pain from a boating accident. Asking for the impossible. Shockingly, even to Rich, the impossible prayer was answered. Interesting how this story got the attention of an atheist friend of Rich. Sometimes, God is just trying to get somebody to awaken to the truth about God and prayer. Hi! Trapper Jack here. Spoiler alert. In this podcast episode, we have three seminarians telling the exact same story of being young, strong swimmers, plunging into the ocean and being carried out to a watery grave by a strong riptide.   If this sounds a bit familiar, the Holy Spirit is going to build on this recent topic. In all three drowning seminarian stories, frantic prayers were prayed, and divinely sent angels changed the course of history. God intervened in order that these three men in formation became Fr. John, Fr. Michael, and Fr. Paul. All will swear that they were saved by God to serve Christ. But that is not the end of the story.   This is also a story where Jesus teaches us a lesson about feeling underwater in life. I've added a great message from Fr.
