Pastor Richard Crisco | Rochester Christian ChurchWelcome to Rochester Christian Church Online! Today, Pastor Richard Crisco brings a powerful message titled The Idle Creates Idols. In this message, we explore a sobering reality: when our lives are filled with idle time and unguarded moments, those spaces rarely stay empty. The idle creates idols. In the stillness we avoid, distractions grow. In the silence we fear, substitutes take shape. Pastor Richard challenges us to reintroduce true stillness before God, replacing idle scrolling with prayer moments, establishing sacred digital boundaries, and learning to give thanks in all circumstances. Rather than allowing our devices, distractions, or busyness to shape our hearts, we are called to cultivate intentional stillness and gratitude. When we invite God into our quiet moments, He transforms them from idle time into holy time. Come expecting to be challenged, refocused, and drawn deeper into a life marked by prayer, discipline, and thanksgiving. Share this stream with friends and family—it could be exactly what they need today.
The Good News of Jesus Christ is simple, straightforward, and for everyone! In today's message, Pastor Richard encourages you to make a decision to follow Christ. Step one is to repent. Acknowledge that you're a sinner in need of a Savior and turn from your sin. You can't do it on your own! God is merciful and loves you so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross to pay the debt that you can't pay. Accept this as truth and be saved today!
Pastor Jared Richard delivered a timely message from Genesis 11:1-9 as Bay Leaf Baptist Church celebrates God's provision for their building project on Creedmoor Road. The Tower of Babel story reveals humanity's attempt to build a city and tower to make a name for themselves and avoid being scattered across the earth, directly disobeying God's command to fill the earth. Pastor Richard explained that while the unity and technological advancement displayed at Babel was impressive, the heart behind the project was flawed - it was motivated by human pride and the desire for security apart from God. The pastor drew important parallels to the church's building project, asking the crucial question: "Are we building for his name or our name?" He warned that it's entirely possible to build a church building while simultaneously building the Tower of Babel in our hearts. The sermon emphasized that we don't need to build towers to reach heaven because heaven already came down in Jesus Christ. Pastor Richard connected this to the gospel, showing how God's judgment at Babel was actually merciful - scattering humanity to prevent collective rebellion while ultimately pointing toward the true unity that comes through worship of Jesus Christ. He concluded by challenging the congregation to ensure all their works, including the Creedmoor Road project, are done for God's glory rather than their own, as only what is done for His glory will truly last. When farmers leave one of their fields fallow, it's to let the soil rest and recover its fertility. To ready a fallow field for planting, the soil first needs to be broken up. Our hearts can be like a fallow field that needs the soil softened up, so that new seeds can take root there. Today, Pastor Richard urges you to make yourself open and receptive to God, so that His word can become deeply rooted in you and produce abundant fruit.

One of the characters in the novel 1984 argues, “War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength.” In a similar vein, Isaiah says, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness”. Sounds a lot like our times, doesn't it! Today, Pastor Richard tells us how Israel and Judah forgot and disobeyed God, and yet He continued to call them back to Himself. Know that He will do the same for you.

Imagine this: it's your second day on your brand-new job, and your boss wants you to do the work your co-worker has been doing for FIVE years! Well, that's not fair, is it? You cannot hold the same standards for two different people when they're in completely different stages. Today, Pastor Richard talks about how your convictions may be different from those of others. Your job isn't to make everyone else follow your standards, but to build them up.
I think we ALL can relate to judging our fellow Christian friends for some of the choices they make. It's important to remember that their walk with Christ isn't ours, and that we can't control everything they do. Today, Pastor Richard discusses the importance of encouraging your new believer friends in their walk with Christ when they fall short, instead of judging them when they may be struggling. How can you encourage your friends today?
Today, Pastor Richard discusses the similarities between Hosea's time and our own, as well as Paul's day. In Ephesians, Paul exhorts the Church not to follow after the world, but to walk as children of light and expose the world's dark deeds. We are to be salt and light and be transformed into the image of Christ. Therefore, trust and live in Jesus, immerse yourself in God's Word, and get involved in a community of faithful Christians.

The news today is unsettling, infuriating, and tragic. There are many different viewpoints in the world around us, and everyone thinks that their's is the right one. So what's missing? How can we know what's true? Today, Pastor Richard describes Hosea's time, where the knowledge of God no longer governed the behavior of individuals or the nation. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Even so, God's love was present then for them, as it is now for you.
Pastor Richard Crisco | Rochester Christian ChurchWelcome to Rochester Christian Church Online! Today, Pastor Richard Crisco brings a powerful message titled Drinking The Calf.In this message, we confront a challenging truth: when we can't wait for God, when anxiety rises, and insecurity takes hold, we often create idols. Idol substitutes that feel safer, more controllable, and easier to manage. We don't just worship idols; we “drink” them in. And Scripture reminds us that we become like what we worship. Pastor Richard calls us to examine our hearts, surrender our need for control, and return to wholehearted trust in the one true God.Come expecting to be challenged, convicted, and drawn closer to the Lord as we learn to wait on Him with faith instead of fear.

Faith in God is essential to stand strong against the attacks of the enemy. He's no match for our God, but that doesn't mean he's not clever. His attacks come in subtle, unrelenting ways that can be easy to dismiss, while doubts start to build and we find ourselves compromising on our values. Today, Pastor Richard will encourage us to reinforce our faith through the Word and time in prayer, as well as surrounding ourselves with fellow believers.
The world we're living in grows riper by the day for the anti-Christ. There's already been a lot of speculation about who it might be and where they might come from. As we head into the final days before our Savior's return, Pastor Richard will encourage us to take heart. We can trust that Jesus will return for us before the time of this evil ruler arrives. We need to be aware, actively warning the lost around us of what's to come.

Pastor Richard Crisco | Rochester Christian ChurchWelcome to Rochester Christian Church Online! Today, Pastor Richard Crisco continues his sermon series on Why Spiritual Language, delving deeper into the Holy Spirit's role in the life of every believer. In this message, we're reminded that the Holy Spirit is not an optional add-on to the Christian walk; He is essential. In this sermon on Genesis 3, Pastor Jared Richard addresses the fundamental question of why our world feels broken despite God creating it "very good." He explains that the problem isn't something happening around us, but something that happened within us - sin entered the world when Adam and Eve listened to the wrong voice in the garden. Pastor Richard breaks down Genesis 3 into two scenes. The first scene (verses 1-7) reveals Satan's scheme to destroy through his question "Did God really say?" The serpent works to make Eve doubt God's goodness, distort God's created order, and diminish God's glory. Adam fails in his role as leader and protector, staying silent while his wife is deceived. The second scene (verses 8-21) shows God's gracious response to human rebellion. Rather than destroying Adam and Eve in judgment, God pursues them in their hiding, asking "Where are you?" - not because He doesn't know, but to give them opportunity for confession and repentance. The sermon emphasizes that God's plan for restoration involves three key elements: He continues to pursue us in our sin, He will crush the head of our enemy (referencing Genesis 3:15 as the first gospel promise), and He covers our shame. Pastor Richard connects this directly to the gospel, showing how Jesus is the promised offspring who would crush Satan's head, and how God clothes us in Christ's righteousness just as He clothed Adam and Eve. The message calls listeners to stop hiding and blaming, and instead trust in God's goodness and His plan of redemption through Jesus Christ. WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! Israel is a nation run by humans, susceptible to sin, including pride and hatred. To stand with Israel, as Pastor Richard will explain in today's message, is not to pretend they're perfect. Scripture makes it clear that this chosen nation, called to be a blessing to others, has not always lived up to its calling. But that doesn't change God's promises or design as laid out in Scripture, and we need to be vigilant in prayer as we watch God's plan unfold.

When you look at the chaos of this world, with wars, natural disasters, and divisiveness everywhere, it's easy to be overwhelmed. It can feel hopeless, but if you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you have reason for hope and joy. This world, in its broken state, is not our home. Our home is with Christ, and as Pastor Richard will encourage us in today's message, Jesus promised to return for us, and He will follow through.

As we walk through life with Jesus, we can sometimes forget the blessings we already have while chasing after what we want. When we become so focused on our own desires and needs, we may overlook the many gifts God has given us. That's why, in today's message, Pastor Richard encourages us to stay rooted in the Word of God and always remember that, although God doesn't grant us everything we ask for, He will always provide what we truly need.
In the last edition of Word of Life, Pastor Richard shared with us numerous prophecies that have been fulfilled in the book of Daniel. And today, as we just heard from Pastor Richard, you'll hear WHY this is so important. When a prophecy is fulfilled, it bolsters your faith in ways few things can. Faith is hard. But when a prophecy actually comes to pass, it becomes a little bit easier to believe in this beautiful God that we can't see.

Inn this powerful and encouraging session, Pastor Richard Nickerson taught from 1 Samuel 30 and Joel 2, releasing a timely word on restoration and recovery. Drawing from Scripture, he emphasized the divine partnership between God and His people; God brings restoration, and we are empowered to recover what was lost. This teaching reminded listeners that recovery is not passive. Through God's restoring work, believers are given authority, strength, and clarity to pursue what was taken and reclaim what belongs to them. As we continue this season of consecration, this word affirmed that loss is not the end of the story and that God's restoration positions us for intentional recovery. Before closing in prayer, Pastor Nickerson offered a moving prayer over Overseer Azizah Morrison, acknowledging her call and assignment to lead God's people through this 40-day fast, and invited the community to pray for her as she has faithfully prayed for them. This session was both strengthening and affirming, calling God's people to step forward in faith, partnership, and expectation as restoration leads to recovery.
Tribulation isn't a word we use often in our American vernacular. This is more of a “bible” word. Pastor Richard just introduced us to an even more fine-tuned look at the idea of tribulation, and that's the “GREAT TRIBULATION”. You'll learn today that you DO NOT want to be someone who is here on earth during this awful time in the history of mankind. You want to be with Jesus in heaven during this time.
