In Exodus 2:15–22, we meet Moses in a season of dislocation—fleeing Egypt, finding refuge in Midian, starting a family, and naming his son Gershom, “a foreigner in a foreign land.” This moment opens a deeper question the passage raises for us today: What does it mean to leave a legacy? Not a legacy of success, achievement, or family status, but a legacy shaped by the ongoing work of God in a life that is still in process. Recorded November 30, 2025.

The Rams needed a "get right" game, and we... guess they got it against the Ravens in Baltimore? That team was depleted and looks like they're on their way to their worst season in 10 years. Originally, they had higher Super Bowl aspirations than the Rams did this year. So, it puts things into perspective. You need to enjoy wins, even if they aren't perfect. And MAN, was this one far from perfect. Execution issues, penalties, SPECIAL TEAMS. It's all on display, every weekend. The Rams pride themselves in not being complacent - well, here's your opportunity to make changes and look like a playoff team come December/January. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Contributor: Taylor Lynch, MD Educational Pearls: Dilutional Hyponatremia: Occurs when there is an excess of free water relative to sodium in the body. Causes a falsely low sodium concentration without a true change in total body sodium. Commonly seen in DKA: Hyperglycemia raises plasma osmolality. Water shifts from the intracellular to extracellular space. This dilutes serum sodium, creating apparent hyponatremia. Corrected sodium calculation: Use tools like MDCALC, or apply this formula: Add 1.6 mEq/L to the measured sodium for every 100 mg/dL increase in glucose above 100. Clinical relevance: Considering corrected sodium in DKA is crucial, as the lab value may not be reflective of actual sodium depletion. True severe hyponatremia can lead to complications like seizures May require treatment with hypertonic saline. References: Fulop M. Acid–base problems in diabetic ketoacidosis. Today's episode is a heated discussion between the Eric and his two guests, Slayer and Tyson, about the importance of attention to detail and maintaining high standards in one's work. Eric, clearly frustrated by a crooked registration sticker on his expensive truck, argues that "how you do one thing is how you do everything," emphasizing that even small imperfections reflect a lack of pride and care. Tyson and Slayer share their own experiences with poor workmanship in their respective fields, highlighting the potential for minor oversights to lead to significant problems or even danger. The conversation evolves into a broader discussion about leadership, training employees, and fostering a culture of excellence by inspecting what you expect and providing both positive and constructive feedback. (Corrected version) Key Takeaways: Always strive for excellence and pride in every task, even when no one is observing. Actively inspect what you expect from yourself and your team to maintain high standards. Consistently train and clearly communicate expectations to prevent a decline in quality. When giving feedback, balance praise for good work with constructive criticism for areas needing improvement. Recognize that small details reflect overall commitment and can have significant broader impacts. All Bones Considered: Laurel Hill Stories #076 Philadelphian Henry Naglee was a West Point graduate who fought in Mexico, the West, and the Civil War. He took a liking to the West Coast and built the first permanent commercial structure in San Francisco, installed vineyards that produced the finest brandy in the country, and is namesake for the Naglee Park section of San Jose. But he was a scoundrel with women, one of whom repaid him by publishing his love letters and his self-portrait of doing naked pushups on his bathtub. General Naglee is interred in the South segment of Laurel Hill East.
