Daniel 6 has inspired generations to a loyalty that can't be compromised or shaken by anyone or anything – to a lifestyle of unrelenting devotion.

Send me a Text Message!The story of Daniel 6 is the story of a man whose life was so centered on God, saturated with God, that he simply could not imagine a life without prayer, even for a day. Faced with a 30-day prayer pause or time with the lions? If Daniel had asked my opinion I would have said, "You know you can pray without bowing your head. You can pray silently. It's just 30 days. It's ok, God will understand. He's put you in a place of influence. Don't lose that. Praying in secret is the lesser of two evils." But not Daniel, for Daniel prayer was too precious. Prayer was more precious than life itself. In essence Daniel was saying, "You can take my life before I will give you my prayer. There's no price too great to pray... How about us, is prayer anywhere near that precious for us? Perhaps Daniel's story will encourage, convict and inspire us!

He's seen a lot., been through more. But along the way he has developed a deep trust in God, a vital prayer life and a conviction that praying for his leaders matters. In the days to come, it's my prayer that followers of Jesus will develop the same; a deep trust in God, a vital prayer life, and a conviction that praying for others, including our leaders, really matters.To go a step beyond that it's simply my prayer that we will be different. That we will be known for the size of our hearts and the quality of our love. And it's my deep hope that in the days to come we will pick up the broom and pray. What does that mean? Send me a Text Message!We live in turbulent, chaotic, uncertain times, maybe not as bad as, but at least similar to the days of Daniel. In some ways, the question asking, hand-wringing, heart-judging, and apocalypse warnings that are taking place...is normal. It happens in times of transition. Change is difficult, but even more than that, times of transition bring about a sense of uncertainty. We don't like uncertainty. But do you know what I've found?  I've found that times of uncertainty can become times  of catalytic spiritual growth. Times of transition are often times when God wants to deepen our faith or change our paradigm or make us more humble and draw us closer to himself. So what do we need in times like this, we need people like Daniel. What we need more than anything is a church that will not stop praying, no matter how loud the lions roar!

 The Book of Daniel gives us a clear example of how to navigate the culture as believers in Jesus.
