We're living in a post-truth reality — where facts compete with memes, misinformation spreads faster than journalism, and artificial intelligence threatens to rewrite the rules entirely. Mosheh sits down with Nick Thompson, CEO of The Atlantic, to break down the urgent fight over what's real, what's fake, and who gets to decide. Nick explains why AI search could soon become the primary way people consume information — and why The Atlantic moved early to strike a precedent-setting deal with OpenAI to protect its reporting from being scraped without credit or compensation. They dig into collapsing trust in media, the dangers of deepfakes, and how ethical journalism can survive when powerful players — from Beijing to Washington — try to shape the narrative. Nick also chats about navigating covering the Trump administration, including how 'The Atlantic' broke “Signalgate." Plus: Nick opens up about his new book The Running Ground, the story behind his ultramarathon obsession, and how endurance fuels leadership in the newsroom. Parenting doesn't magically get “easier” once kids are past the toddler years—and Alyssa Blask Campbell wants us to stop pretending it does. The bestselling author of Tiny Humans, Big Emotions is back with her new book Big Kids, Bigger Feelings, a guide to navigating the rollercoaster of the elementary school years—when kids are “too old for tantrums, but too young for teen drama.” Alyssa joins Mosheh to break down why these years matter so much for building resilience, empathy, and emotional intelligence. She explains how parents can act as “emotional detectives” to uncover what's really driving behavior, the difference between respect and obedience, and why our own self-regulation as adults is the model our children will copy. We also dig into practical, everyday dilemmas: how to handle screen time and peer pressure, what to do when your child lies, and how to respond to difficult emotions like sadness and anger. Plus—the often-overlooked role of diet, sleep, and nervous system regulation in shaping behavior.Alyssa also shares insights from her Collaborative Emotion Processing (CEP) method, and why teaching kids to manage their feelings is the single greatest gift parents can give.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams is currently trailing in polls ahead of the November mayoral race — but he tells Mo News that the race has only just started.  In an interview with Mosheh, Adams said he's focused on spreading his message about his record and administration's wins — including on the economy and public safety — and registering 1 million new voters. Mosheh asks Adams how he plans to overcome his dismal favorability ratings with New Yorkers, while also pressing him on his five-count criminal indictment. It made him the first New York City mayor to be indicted, but was dropped by the Trump Justice Department in February. They discuss his relationship with Trump and what actually went down earlier this year.  Adams also addresses a number of the promises made by Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani — the 33 year-old Democratic Socialist who ran on promises of free childcare, free buses, rent freezes, and a sweeping social justice and tax agenda.  Adams has some blunt words in this interview for former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who lost to Mamdani in the Democratic primary but is still considering an independent run. A Mamdani victory is all but guaranteed if both Adams and Cuomo remain in and split the centrist vote.  Adams also discussed his origin story — including how getting beaten up by a police officer as a teen led him to join the NYPD— and played a round of rapid-fire questions on what he loves most about New York. Sky-high insurance premiums. Surprise medical bills. Drug prices that keep going up. Why does healthcare in America cost so much — and how did we end up here? Dr. Cedric Jamie Rutland, a critical care physician and BuzzRx Medical Advisor, joins Mosheh for a wide-ranging conversation that breaks down the real reasons healthcare is so expensive in the U.S. They explore how pharmacy benefit managers quietly shape what you pay, the unintended consequences of the Affordable Care Act, and why insurance coverage often feels arbitrary. Then, a deep dive into GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy: how they work, what they actually do to your body, and whether they're the future of weight loss and preventative care. Dr. Rutland also shares why having insurance — even if you're healthy — still matters more than many realize. BuzzRx, a prescription drug discount card and app service, saves users hundreds of dollars each month and has partnered with Mo News for a series focused on America's health and the prescription drug industry. With Republicans in power across all branches of the federal government, Democrats are looking for ways to regain trust and learn how to build things. One book they're looking toward is Marc Dunkelman's: Why Nothing Works: Who Killed Progress―and How to Bring It Back.  In this episode, Marc joins Mosheh to discuss how the Democratic distrust of power since the 1960s has led to stagnation and public distrust, paving the way for Donald Trump's election as someone who promises to make things actually happen. He explains how we got from the era of Robert Moses reshaping New York and FDR's New Deal, to a modern day with infrastructure in disrepair nationwide. Plus, some broader historical context: how the dueling mindsets at the heart of progressivism—a need for strong executive action and a mistrust of power— reflects a broader American conflict that goes all the way back to the days of Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. Mosheh Oinounou (@mosheh) is an Emmy and Murrow award-winning journalist. Mosheh Oinounou is an Emmy, Murrow, and Webby Award-winning executive producer with a distinguished career leading teams at Fox News, Bloomberg TV, CNBC, and CBS. In 2020, he launched Mo News, a platform dedicated to delivering verified, balanced news without the sensationalism or heavy-handed opinion that dominates much of today's media. Mosheh's unique approach has quickly built a highly engaged following on Instagram, a successful podcast, and a newsletter—making him a trusted source for straightforward news in an era of polarized coverage. On this episode we talk about: The origins and rapid growth of Mo News, from an Instagram account for friends and family to a leading independent news platform Why traditional media has become so sensationalized and the incentives driving negative, polarizing headlines The challenges and opportunities of building a media business focused on trust, context, and nuance rather than clickbait The impact of corporate ownership and advertising (including pharmaceutical ads) on news coverage and public trust How younger audiences are shifting away from legacy media and supporting independent, subscription-based news sources The importance of critical thinking, context, and empathy in consuming and sharing news today Top 3 Takeaways Build for Trust, Not Clicks: Success in media (and business) can come from focusing on what your audience truly wants—reliable, unbiased information—even if it means slower growth compared to sensationalized competitors. Monetization Follows Value: By solving a real problem for his audience (curating trustworthy news), Mosheh was able to organically grow Mo News and monetize through sponsorships and subscriptions, proving that quality content can be sustainable. Context Is Everything: In a world of viral clips and algorithmic echo chambers, providing context and resisting the urge to oversimplify or polarize is crucial for building credibility and helping audiences make informed decisions.
