Your brain likes to focus on the things you don't have and the things you are not. So many of us live our lives day to day feeling like we are not enough, but that is a lie. There is a way that we can uproot the lies in your mind, and in this message, we're going to show you how.

As we examine the church's role in redeeming the broken relationships from Genesis 3, we find that the broken relationship between the person and himself/herself, is often overlooked. Authenticity begins by believing that we are God's Masterpiece and are perfectly suited for the work He has for us.

The Reformation in the 16th century sought to reorient Christianity on the original message of Jesus and there were five pillars that they stood on. These are called the Five Solas: - Sola Scriptura (“Scripture alone”): The Bible alone is our highest authority. - Sola Fide (“faith alone”): We are saved through faith alone in Jesus Christ. - Sola Gratia (“grace alone”): We are saved by the grace of God alone. - Solus Christus (“Christ alone”): Jesus Christ alone is our Lord, Savior, and King. - Soli Deo Gloria (“to the glory of God alone”): We live for the glory of God alone. Of those 5 solas, four of them are represented in the first two chapters of Ephesians, and three of them are in verses 8-10. These few verses are hugely important to our understanding of biblical salvation & justification. Grace is a blessing that is undeserved and unwarranted. It is a gift freely given based on the kindness of the giver to a recipient who has no claim to it. The whole plan and process of salvation comes from God as a gift, not from ourselves as the result of works or good things that we have done. We are not saved by good works, we are saved for good works. But notice the importance of the sequence. Good works are not the cause of salvation; they are the result of it. God saves us so that we would go into the world and do good works in His name, thus bringing Him glory (Matt. 5:16: “that they may see your good works and glorify the Father”). The very people who were naturally under God’s wrath have now been transformed into God’s own workmanship because of Christ. Walking in good works & obedience is a result and proof of our salvation. “Justification is by faith alone, but not by faith that is alone”. – Martin Luther ** "Appendix A" is available for download above by clicking "Download PDF" (it's the last page of the notes).

We exist for the praise of the glory of God’s grace in Christ Jesus. Everything we do as a church must bring glory to God in the name of Christ Jesus. We are an intergenerational church. We strive to make a seamless journey of faith from birth to old age. We are overtly trinitarian. We are always looking for the work of the Father through the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. We value people. We present the ideal of God’s plan while embracing the reality of life.

The culture that we live in is performance driven - it is all about what you do. Humanity has always tended to drift towards gaining approval through what they do. Is it any wonder that we approach God that way too?

Oscar Wilde said, "Be yourself; everyone else is already taken". We agree, you are unique. Nobody will live the life you are living. You are beautiful, because God created you. We are all made in the image of God. It is hard to see beauty in others when we can't see it in ourselves. We can't see it in ourselves when we focus on what we don't have. When we focus on what's not good, we miss out on what is good in ourselves and others. See the good in others. Steward what you do have. Pave the way for others. #wearetheGrove

God has a purpose for all that He has created. The redemptive work of Jesus changes our identity through the work of Grace.
Rebuilding trust is key for broken relationships to be made whole again. Trust can be easily broken but can take years to rebuild. Yielding to Christ gives us the power as we re-grow trust with others through love and faithfulness.

“Practical Evangelism: It Begins with Grace"
Paul reminds us in the book of Ephesians that it is not by works, but by grace through faith that saves believers. Our good works are simply an outpouring of our love for The Father, in recognition of what has been done for us through His Son Jesus Christ.
Pastor Stephanie reminds us that we are God's workmanship. Are you thankful and pursuing His plans for you?
