We discuss why we worship together. We learn about how worship shapes us. We don't worship because we are worshippers, we become worshippers by worshipping. As Eugene Peterson said, "Worship is an act that produces feelings for God, not a feeling that motivates the act of worship."

We are busy. Crazy busy. School, events, activities, sports, work, deadlines, chores, errands. Some of you feel your stress level rising right now as you read this. So when it comes to worshipping on a Sunday or committing to a community group during the week, we balk. But here’s the thing: you can’t belong if you can’t be there. And we long for belonging. So be there for this message and learn why something as simple as showing up is so helpful for you and for others.

American culture is a culture of comfort. It's being sold to us everywhere we look. We're encouraged to do what we want, when we want, with whomever we want. If something is uncomfortable, we want to avid it at all costs. The Christian faith, though, is just that: uncomfortable. Join PoC as we help people embrace, understand, and see the beauty and hope in the challenging realities of being part of God's people.
One of the greatest threats to our well-being is feeling out of control. One of the most difficult areas to have control of is our future. You can see how having a secure future weighs heavily on how we feel today. Jesus had a lot to say about the future. He spoke about it, taught about it, and shared facts with us so that we would know how to face the days to come. Knowing the future helps us understand how to live today.

True spiritual growth happens best within an authentic community.
As a body, we will grow up into the fullness and maturity God has for us as each part does it's work. When we learn to receive from each part -- not just our favorite parts -- we will reach our full potential. Pastor CJ encourages us to intentionally embrace and honor the span of generations in order to come together as a powerful, effective, unified body.
