The hope of heaven and the promise of the second coming of Jesus change how you understand and experience the hardships of this world. There are many things you will never experience, but the Bible declares that until Jesus comes again, there is one thing that everyone will experience, and that is death.Grief is the common bond between every generation, every culture, and every people group. When confronted with death, it draws your attention to the big questions concerning eternity, entrance into heaven, and the judgment of God and hell. The Thessalonians were new Christians and had many questions, but their greatest concern was about the Christians who had died before Christ's return.Paul writes these instructions to inform and encourage the church with GoGod'sruth. Confusion was causing them to worry and grieve, but Paul wanted them to be encouraged by the word of God. This passage teaches three ways that the word of God encourages and gives you hope.Ben Smith is the pastor of Central Baptist Church, Waycross, GA.Sermon preached 3/23/2025.Books and downloadable PDFs of Pastor Ben's sermon notes are available at http://bensmithsr.org/resources.For more information on Central Baptist Church, visit www.cbcwaycross.org.

Are you an encourager—or just a spectator? Most of us treat encouragement like a casual compliment—a nice extra, but not essential. But what if encouragement is actually a lifeline? What if the strength of the church depends on it?Romans 15 shows us that encouragement isn't optional—it's a command. It's the fuel that keeps the body of Christ moving forward. So why are so many Christians running on empty? Why do we hesitate to speak life into each other? In this message, we'll unpack Paul's radical call to build each other up, bear each other's burdens, and live in a way that makes people want to follow Jesus. Because in a world tearing people down, the church should be the loudest voice lifting them up.

This week, Pastor Andrew reminds us that we need to always be encouraging. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
Are you carrying a burden too heavy to bear alone? ABOUT THIS MESSAGE: Life can feel like a battlefield, but God never intended for us to walk it alone. In this sermon, Pastor Adam Burton unpacks Galatians 6:1–10, calling us to bear one another's burdens, grow together in faith, and persevere in doing good. Our mortality is real, but Christians do not die in the sense that they will not be separated from God. We may become physically dead, but we're spiritually alive. Pastor Josh teaches how Christians can approach their physical death in a very different way. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Encourage One Another As It Is Written
So, what do you think God thinks about words that kill? Proverbs says, “Words kill, words give life; they're either poison or fruit—you choose.” (Proverbs 18.21) Does that mean God sees them as equal choices? What do you think God thinks about destructive criticism, gossip, sarcasm, gaslighting, broken confidences, bullying, or other … discouraging words? How big a deal do you suppose this stuff is with God?
Big Idea: Encourage one another consistently in the faith to make it to the End.
Encourage - To impart courage. That is both a positive and a negative. Sometimes we encourage unto excellence, we speak truth, and we push people to continue strong. Other times we encourage people negatively to slow down for their safety. We encourage people to examine treating and harmful behaviors. As a church we're called into an even more elevated form of encouragement through Christ!__________ If you're new let us know & visit https://www.covenantdoylestown.org to learn more about us and how you can get connected. An unavoidable aspect of being human is relationships — Each of us find ourselves in a vast constellation of relationships…. be it a friend, neighbor, co-worker, family, spouse or children. In our new series, Love First, we are zooming in on relationships and Jesus' statement that the greatest commandment is to love God and love others as we love ourselves. Over the next seven weeks, we will take a look at seven “one another” statements found in the new testament, and learn how the Gospel alone has the power to heal our deepest relationship wounds and empower us to love others and love God as we're designed to. For this week, lead Pastor Grant Bruscoe uncovers the incredible opportunity we have to encourage one another, and provides some practical ways to step into the practice this week.
