Now that September is over, it's time for Blake Biscardi and Dave Wertheim to hand out the September Heisman Trophy and play Contender or Pretender as they preview the college football landscape moving forward. Blake and Dave have an open discussion that consists of Kansas sitting alone atop the Big 12 standings, Rockytop's Redemption, and the Miami Hurricanes looking more like a Tropical Depression. Finally, Blake and Dave give their Week 5 Picks and discuss an intriguing hypothetical College Football Playoff scenario.

Alex Cook and Connor Southard join your host to look back at Michigan's win over NIU, give our big moods of the week, pick this week's slate of games, and go over the wild Buckeye Scoop story-turned-lawsuit. Topics include: SP+ rankings, getting the ball to the good players, MSU's September Heisman campaign, if Cade McNamara is the ideal Jim Harbaugh quarterback, the passing offense and the Big Ten's lack of good passing offenses, Donovan Edwards emerging, whether Michigan has the best backfield in the Big Ten, Rocky Lombardi's unshakeable confidence, the defense being too solid so far to accumulate big individual numbers, and why in the world a silver spoon baby would (allegedly!) turn into a fraudulent college football insider. What good is a college football weekend without a lottery ticket? The Parlay Like a Champion guys have five picks we're taking to the window for a big payday like we do every week. Listen in for the breakdowns and the leans across the college football landscape as we return to college football with packed stadiums, September Heisman winners, and the drama that is college football.
Without a Texas football game to break down, Noah and Josh take some time to discuss the sport of college football, picking who they think the best team in the country is so far, who should be the September Heisman winner, and reset the field in-conference before circling back to the storylines that have defined the season for Texas so far.
It's time to stop and reflect on the season that's been. (Yes, we know there's still a lot of season still to come. Hush.) We're talking September Heisman, figuring out what happened in the early part of the season that will stick in our memories, handing out some Assies, recognizing statistical leaders like Evan Weaver, Tackle Bear, and arguing about cake.
Today we’re playing the audio version of the 247sports CFB show, which airs live every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. central on YouTube, Periscope, and Facebook. If you’re good without the video, just keep listening, because you’re about to hear me, Josh Ahler, Barton Simmons, and Trey Scott preview Week 4 of college football. College football is officially back! After a relatively successful yet unimportant week 1, let's talk about how mundane nearly every Big Ten game was this past week! Some teams looks great, some teams laid on the points just because they can and others look like they're in real trouble this season. What did we get wrong? What should we be sure to discuss for Week 2? Tweet us using @BuckerinePod or #buckerine. As you all know with our love for Indiana head coach Tom Allen, we can easily be bought.
We talk about week 3 and how every supermarket in Ohio has an S added to the end of the name by the native Ope’rs. Week 3 got a little weird, not that weird, but a little. Kansas has a 2 game winning streak! Florida State is really bad! Tua is winning the September Heisman!
Alex and Fitz are hanging out with you to preview the midway-point of the regular season (yeah, already!). Most of the games are washes, but keep your eyes peeled for the 3:30 p.m. slate. We'll talk about how important the Western Michigan at Buffalo game is for both squads and why Buffalo's rush defense is going to be a key factor in this one. Also, if the "September Heisman" was localized to the MAC, the winner is easily one of Cody Thompson or Logan Woodside. Or Darius Phillips. Anyways, somebody's bound to have a huge October. Nathan Rourke's a strong candidate here with the defenses he'll have to face. WARNING: This is a longer podcast than we had hoped for. Please say nice things.
