Analizē Tieslietu ministrijas Krimināltiesību departamenta direktore Indra Aizupe-Dzintare, Zemkopības ministrijas Dzīvnieku veselības, audzēšanas, aizsardzības un pārtikas nekaitīguma departamenta Dzīvnieku aizsardzības, tirdzniecības un barības nodaļas vadītāja Agija Mediņa, Veterinārārstu biedrības pārstāve Lita Konopore un juriste, dzīvnieku tiesību eksperte Inese Bāra. Pēc šī gadījuma Latvijas Veterinārārstu biedrība jau atkārtoti aicina likumā skaidri noteikt, ka dzīvnieku seksuāla izmantošana ir noziedzīgs nodarījums,. Arī policija uzskata, ka tas atvieglotu šādu lietu izmeklēšanu. Tikmēr Tieslietu ministrijā skaidro, ka pašreizējais Krimināllikuma regulējums ir pietiekams, bet būtu jāievieš izmaiņas Dzīvnieku aizsardzības likumā. Un paralēli arī Saeimas deputāti šī sasaukuma izskaņā spriež par šo jautājumu, kas ir dzīvnieks - dzīva būtne vai tikai manta un priekšmets?
