He is the first Longhorn in Texas history to do so. There were a ton of upsets, including the #1 team in the country, UCLA, and the #4 team in the country, Auburn. In just its second year of official competition, the Texas Beach Volleyball team reached the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament, falling in a nail-biter to eventual champion UCLA.
