Sam “The Trapman” Gibson is a lifelong hunter and trapper out of New Zealand. After leaving a long career with the department of environmental conservation in 2020 due to being disparaged with how they were doing things, he started a project called Eastern Whio Link a hunter-led conservation project that looks to protect native birds (specifically kiwi) and whio (a rare native duck). He discussed both with Robbie in depth in today's episode. The Eastern Whio Link is a project that Blood Origins, through funding by Bergara has invested in. Robbie is joined by Zidane Janbeck, from Kilombero North Safaris for a 2 1/2 hour conversation on the controversial topic of elephant hunting in Tanzania's Enduimet area. In the age of digital media, the sheer volume of bowhunting information is mind boggling. But how much of that information is credible and trustworthy? And how can consumers tell the difference? Jeremy Flinn, chief marketing officer at Stone Road Media, joins Editor Christian Berg for a thoughtful discussion about the many ways outdoor brands use social media, YouTube, ecommerce, influencers and more to connect with the bowhunting community.

Jeremy Flinn is graduate of the MSU Deer Lab and is now the Chief Marketing Officer for Stone Road Media, a company that represents many of the well-known brands in the hunting industry. We talk about the influence "brand-name" hunters have on the education of the hunting public and how Jeremy is working to insure accurate, biologically sound information is being distributed.
