También se destaca Graciela Villar, excandidata a vicepresidente como compañera de fórmula de Daniel Martínez en las elecciones de 2019, y el ya conocido caso de Leonardo Herou, exdirector en la Intendencia de Canelones, que en marzo pasó al gobierno nacional como subsecretario de Ambiente y ahora asumirá en Montevideo como director de Desarrollo Ambiental. Durante el acto de ayer Bergara se refirió nuevamente a los problemas económicos de la comuna, y reiteró los principales desafíos que tendrá su gestión. "El panorama financiero ya sabemos que no es bueno, no es floreciente. En este año que tenemos que trabajar con el presupuesto ya vigente vamos a tratar de avanzar dejando en claro las prioridades. La prioridad inicial es la vinculada a la basura. Sam “The Trapman” Gibson is a lifelong hunter and trapper out of New Zealand. After leaving a long career with the department of environmental conservation in 2020 due to being disparaged with how they were doing things, he started a project called Eastern Whio Link a hunter-led conservation project that looks to protect native birds (specifically kiwi) and whio (a rare native duck). Cuando falta poco más de un mes para las elecciones departamentales y municipales, en Montevideo el oficialismo, o sea el Frente Amplio (FA), se mantiene primero en intención de voto sobre la Coalición Republicana (CR).  De todos modos, algunos de los analistas advierten que resultado no está cerrado. El último sondeo de Cifra, conocido la semana pasada, mostró un achicamiento de la ventaja a siete puntos: 48% optaría por un nuevo gobierno del FA mientras que 41% votaría por la oposición y 11% permanece indeciso. En la comparación con febrero, el FA subió 6 puntos pero la CR subió 14. Todo ese movimiento fue a cuenta de los indecisos, bajaron 20 puntos. La Asociación Uruguaya de Ceremonial y Protocolo trabajó durante semanas con la Cancillería y las distintas embajadas en la preparación del acto de cambio de mando. Se trata de un evento complejo que, para la asociación, representa el acto más importante a nivel nacional, porque reúne a autoridades nacionales y extranjeras. “Jefes de Estado, Primeros Ministros Extranjeros, Miembros de Casas Reinantes, Jefes de las Misiones Extraordinarias, de las Misiones Diplomáticas Permanentes y Especiales, y las altas autoridades nacionales, civiles y militares”: así lo detalla el Manual de Ceremonial Público.    Todas las actividades para la ocasión están reglamentadas por un decreto del año 2007. Desde la vestimenta —de traje oscuro y corbata para los hombres y traje o vestido no escotado para las mujeres— hasta los saludos entre los mandatarios, funcionarios de Gobierno, choferes y personal de los hoteles en los que se alojen los visitantes. A tres meses exactos de las elecciones departamentales, quedó completa esta semana la oferta de candidatos para la Intendencia de Montevideo.  El domingo 11 de mayo competirán dos grandes lemas: Frente Amplio (FA) y la Coalición Republicana. Dentro del FA, y según se confirmó oficialmente este martes, los tres candidatos será el senador y economista Mario Bergara; el arquitecto y docente Salvador Schelotto, exdirector nacional de Vivienda; y la bióloga Verónica Piñeiro, vicepresidenta de la coalición de izquierdas y actual gerenta de Ambiente del gobierno departamental. Bergara cuenta principalmente con el respaldo de Seregnistas y del MPP, Piñeiro con el del Partido Comunista, La Amplia y sectores de las bases frenteamplistas, mientras que Schelotto es impulsado por la Vertiente Artiguista. Y del lado de la oposición departamental, en la Coalición Republicana los tres candidatos serán el nacionalista Martín Lema, senador electo y exministro de Desarrollo Social; la colorada Virginia Cáceres, expresidenta del Codicen de la ANEP; y el coronel retirado Roque García, de Cabildo Abiertoo. ¿Cómo ven los tertulianos este abanico de candidatos? El Plenario Departamental del Frente Amplio (FA) definió anoche los tres candidatos a la Intendencia de la capital que la coalición de izquierdas presentará  en las elecciones del 11 de mayo: Verónica Piñeiro, Salvador Schelotto y Mario Bergara. El plenario se inició sin que se hubiera cerrado el acuerdo que procuraban los sectores más grandes -el Movimiento de Participación Popular (MPP) y el Partido Comunista (PCU)-, que consistía en llegar a la definición con la garantía de que esos tres nombres recibieran, sin discusión, los cuatro quintos de los votos exigidos por el estatuto para ser proclamados. Eso provocó que los otros dos aspirantes -Juan Ceretta y Silvana Pissano- ingresaran con chances teóricas a la discusión de los delegados. Pero poco después Pissano anunció el retiro de su postulación.  Llegado el momento de la votación Piñeiro, impulsada por el Partido Comunista, fue quien cosechó un mayor apoyo. Con 95 votos, fue la única que logró por sí misma el mínimo exigido para ser habilitada.  Segundo, con 88 votos se ubicó Schelotto, impulsado por la Vertiente Artiguista,y que quedó a las puertas de la habilitación directa.  Bergara, que contaba con el respaldo de Seregnistas y el MPP, quedó tercero con  82 votos.  Ceretta, que sólo cosechó 18 votos, fue el único de los cinco que no concurrió al Plenario. Según le dijo a El País, no asistió “para no presionar a las bases”.  En una segunda votación, los tres más votados fueron habilitados por aclamación. Ahora el plenario volverá a sesionar el miércoles, para aprobar las respectivas listas de suplentes que llevarán los tres candidatos.  Analizamos En Perspectiva con Antonio Cardarello, politólogo.

El presidente Luis Lacalle Pou organizó ayer una sesión del Consejo de Ministros para que los jerarcas informaran sobre los principales resultados de sus carteras y sus planes para los últimos 26 días de gobierno.  Al final del encuentro, hablando en conferencia de prensa, la ministra de Economía, Azucena Arbeleche, dijo que Lacalle Pou pidió a los ministros que trabajen este mes con la “misma energía, ímpetu y vocación de servicio” que durante estos cinco años. La jerarca agregó que así lo harán y, por otra parte, destacó que se está llevando adelante una “transición ordenada”. Arbeleche hizo una defensa de la gestión, en el plano económico. "Se está finalizando el quinquenio con un mejor país en materia económica, fiscal, de empleo y salario real". Arbeleche además cuestionó al senador frenteamplista Mario Bergara, que sostuvo que esta administración solicitó a entes autónomos que adelantaran 1.400 millones de dólares en impuestos para mejorar el resultado fiscal. La ministra dijo que la cifra es un “disparate” y relató que Lacalle Pou se comunicó con el presidente electo Yamandú Orsi para manifestarle su disgusto "porque no es aceptable que se digan estas mentiras". Según Arbeleche, “el adelanto de impuestos, que es algo usual en la gestión fiscal, fue de unos US$ 60 millones”. Horas después Bergara, reconoció que se equivocó con la cifra. Sin embargo, aseguró “que eso no cambia que el gobierno quiere mostrar cifras del déficit fiscal menores a la realidad”. ¿Cómo ven nuestros analistas el final de la administración de Lacalle Pou? There are big black bears and then there are World Record Black Bears. Legisladores oficialistas convocarán mañana a la Comisión Permanente del Parlamento para emitir una declaración conjunta sobre la situación política en Venezuela, luego de la ceremonia de asunción de Nicolás Maduro para un nuevo mandato de seis años. El oficialismo buscará que haya un pronunciamiento del Frente Amplio respecto a la legitimidad del nuevo gobierno de Maduro, acusado por la oposición de cometer fraude en las elecciones de julio pasado. Varios legisladores de la coalición multicolor cuestionaron al Frente Amplio y al gobierno electo por no pronunciarse el viernes luego de la ceremonia de asunción de Maduro. La senadora nacionalista Graciela Bianchi afirmó en diálogo con La Diaria, que en ese país “se ha consumado un gobierno de facto” y que ahora “se está a favor de la dictadura o de la democracia”. El diputado colorado Felipe Schipani por su lado aseguró el viernes que “duele ver que para el futuro partido de gobierno y los próximos gobernantes del Uruguay hoy no ha pasado nada en Venezuela”. Fuentes del Frente Amplio manifestaron a La Diaria que, por el momento, no hay posición orgánica más allá de la que fue difundida a través de un comunicado horas después de la elección del 28 de julio pasado, cuando el Consejo Nacional Electoral de Venezuela dio como ganador a Maduro. En aquella declaración el Frente Amplio expresó que estaba a la espera de la publicación de las actas electorales de Venezuela y los informes de los observadores internacionales. Por su lado, el senador Mario Bergara, opinó a título personal que el Frente Amplio no debería avalar el nuevo gobierno de Maduro. Bergara aseguró, en el programa Desayunos Informales, que la coalición de izquierdas no se reunió con el excandidato opositor Edmundo González Urrutia el sábado pasado durante su visita a Montevideo, porque el dirigente venezolano no solicitó un encuentro. Las definiciones para la campaña electoral por la Intendencia de Montevideo empezaron a acelerarse en estos días. El sábado pasado el sector Fuerza Renovadora (FR) del Frente Amplio oficializó su apoyo a la candidatura del senador Mario Bergara, el nombre que hasta ahora suena con más fuerza dentro de la coalición de izquierdas. En un comunicado publicado ayer, esa agrupación afirmó que Bergara es el “adecuado para llevar a cabo un proyecto de renovación capitalina”, amparado en las “garantías políticas, profesionales y morales” que ofrece “para ocupar un cargo fundamental”. Según FR, Montevideo necesita una “actualización del modelo de gestión en todas las áreas para consolidarlo como un departamento democrático y participativo”. 24 horas antes, el viernes, Bergara aceptó el respaldo del Partido Demócrata Cristiano. Además, en varias reuniones políticas dirigentes del MPP se mostraron afines a respaldarlo. De todas formas, varios sectores esperan que el FA termine presentando hasta tres candidaturas. Mientras tanto, en filas del Partido Nacional el diputado Martín Lema, ex ministro de Desarrollo Social, ya tiene el respaldo de todos los sectores para ser candidato a intendente de Montrevideo dentro del lema Coalición Republicana. De hecho, el próximo sábado 21 de diciembre la Convención Departamental de Montevideo del Partido Nacional va a proclamar su nombre. Ese será un primer paso. La Convención Departamental de Montevideo de la Coalición Republicana sesionará a principios de febrero y en esa ocasión se da como un hecho que otros partidos del actual oficialismo presenten más candidaturas. William Reyntiens is a Belgian hunter who Robbie met on one of his recent adventures, staying at his house during a project for Bergara. William is a volunteer with the “Sauvon Bambi aka Saving Bambi” project in Belgium. This conservation project is funded by Bergara International Fund, where Robbie and the Blood Origins crew are helping out as a way to push back on the bambification of wildlife and hunters and correct that damage by rescuing deer fawns in Belgium. It's an incredible project, one where hunters are working shoulder to shoulder with non-hunters to save baby deer fawns from farmers hay cutting blades as they cut hayfields that they are hiding in. ¿Cómo viene la carrera para las elecciones internas del 30 de junio? ¿Qué dicen las encuestas más recientes? La última que se publicó fue realizada por la consultora Cifra y apareció el martes de la semana pasada. Según este sondeo, en la interna del Frente Amplio existe un virtual empate entre Yamandú Orsi y Carolina Cosse. En el Partido Nacional, Álvaro Delgado está consolidado en el primer lugar pero con Laura Raffo creciendo y en el Partido Colorado se mantiene un margen de error muy alto que dificulta la visualización de las ubicaciones relativas de los precandidatos. De acuerdo al informe, a dos meses de las elecciones internas, seis de cada diez electores ya tenía un partido preferido al que pensaban votar. Entre quienes declararon que irán a sufragar el 30 junio en la elección interna del Frente Amplio, y ya con la oferta de precandidatos reducida a tres, por la bajada de Mario Bergara, dicen que apoyarán a Orsi el 47%, a Cosse el 45% y a Andrés Lima el 4%. Según Cifra, en febrero, Orsi superaba a Cosse por nueve puntos (47 a 38) y en marzo por 11 (49 a 38); en ambos casos todavía estaba Bergara como precandidato. Ahora, en abril, ya sin Bergara en la carrera, Orsi retrocede a la intención de voto de febrero (47), Cosse sube de manera significativa (45) y la ventaja del exintendente de Canelones queda en 2 puntos, muy por debajo del margen de error. Entre los que dijeron que irán a votar al Partido Nacional en las internas, por Delgado se inclina el 53%, por Laura Raffo el 29% y por Jorge Gandini el 8%. Delgado tuvo un pico de apoyo en febrero, con una intención de voto de 62%. En marzo bajó diez puntos y ahora se estabilizó. El apoyo a Raffo, en tanto, pasó de 17% en febrero a 25% en marzo y al 29% actual. En definitiva, Delgado se mantiene en el primer puesto pero sin grandes cambios mientras que Raffo viene subiendo mes a mes. Respecto a la interna del Partido Colorado, Cifra indicó que la encuesta no permite obtener datos mínimamente confiables, porque son pocos los encuestados que piensan votar al partido, y el margen de error de sus respuestas es, por tanto, muy alto. Con esta salvedad, los líderes más mencionados hoy son Andrés Ojeda, Gabriel Gurméndez y Robert Silva, en ese orden. A principios de año Silva lideraba las preferencias, pero la interna colorada aparece ahora como muy competitiva, y será muy difícil anticipar quién puede ganar. El menú de precandidatos del Frente Amplio para las elecciones internas cambió la semana pasada cuando el senador Mario Bergara resolvió bajarse de la competencia y apoyar a Yamandú Orsi. El líder del bloque Convocatoria Seregnista-Progresistas tomó la decisión en función de la evolución de las encuestas de intención de voto que muestran una polarización fuerte entre el ex intendente de Canelones y Carolina Cosse. De este modo lo explicó el jueves pasado, aquí, En Perspectiva. "La polarización hace que los votos se atraigan a los polos y quien está fuera de esos polos, que era el caso nuestro, obviamente sufre. Al punto tal de que muchos compañeros y compañeras nos planteaban claramente, yo soy de Convocatoria quiero apoyarte, voy a estar en octubre contigo pero hoy quiero incidir en esta disputa que no es de espacio, no es de visión política ideológica sino de definición de candidatura y de fórmula porque hoy lo que está en disputa es el orden de la fórmula". Bergara agregó que existía el riesgo de una mala votación de su precandidatura que fuera interpretado como un debilitamiento del bloque seregnista y complicara las chances del sector para las elecciones nacionales de octubre. El ex presidente del Banco Central destacó varias coincidencias con Orsi, entre otras la visión contraria sobre el plebiscito de reforma constitucional sobre seguridad social que impulsa el PIT CNT junto con varios sectores del Frente Amplio que respaldan la candidatura de Cosse. De todas formas, Bergara remarcó que si bien su sector apoyará Orsi como precandidato, lo hará con una campaña independiente, con su propio perfil y su propia agenda programática.
