This episode is a true gem. Join in for a refreshing and life-giving conversation inspired by the Off-Broadway production, The Reservoir. I welcome playwright Jake Brasch and cast member Caroline Aaron for a thought-provoking discussion about art, science, mental health, relationships, and healing. Come hear the journey that brought Jake, Caroline, and so many others together for this poignant production that navigates through addiction recovery, dementia, and the ups and downs of family relationships across generations. You'll get an inside look into this riveting story that tackles the reality of life's challenges with a surprising mixture of deep reflection, humor and levity. In our conversation, we also delve into the process of creating a piece of art for live theater. We talk about the stages of writing in isolation, collaborating, and sometimes disagreeing with the cast members and designers, all to eventually create something beautiful together. Our guests generously share the lessons they've learned and the lessons they're still learning. We also take a step back to consider the gift of cultivating time and our need to fight against cancel culture. We talk openly about the importance of not forgetting the older members of our society, who too often become invisible. Roles even reverse at times, as our guests ask Dr. Addy his thoughts on memory, community, and truth-seeking, from a neuroscience perspective. A truly moving conversation. The new semi-autobiographical play “The Reservoir” spins a comedic narrative around cognitive reserve, the idea that doing brain-stimulating activities can prevent or delay the onset of dementia symptoms. It's currently running at the Atlantic Theater Company and co-produced by The Ensemble Studio Theater in New York.*  Host Ira Flatow talks with playwright Jake Brasch about his inspiration for the play and how to mesh science into the theater.  Then, neurologist Marilyn Albert discusses some of the latest science of mental stimulation and dementia. After following a diverse group of older adults for 20 years, her research found that a modest amount of specialized cognitive training reduced dementia risk by 25%. You can try a very similar brain training exercise at home.  *“The Reservoir” received funding from the Sloan Foundation, which also helps support Science Friday. Guests: Jake Brasch is a writer, performer, composer, clown, and writer of the new play “The Reservoir.”  Dr. Marilyn Albert is a professor of neurology and director of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center at Johns Hopkins Medicine.Transcripts for each episode are available within 1-3 days at sciencefriday.com. In this episode of SpaceTime, we dive into groundbreaking research revealing the true composition of the Earth's core, explore new insights into solar neutrinos, and uncover the complexities of Martian volcanoes.Earth's Core Contains Vast Hydrogen ReservoirA recent study published in Nature Communications indicates that Earth's core may hold up to 45 oceans' worth of hydrogen, challenging the long-held belief that water on our planet primarily came from asteroids and comets. Utilizing advanced laboratory techniques, researchers simulated the extreme conditions of the core to uncover its surprising hydrogen content, suggesting a significant internal source of water far beyond previous estimates.Neutrinos from the Sun's CoreA new dark matter experiment has successfully detected neutrinos originating from the Sun's core, marking a significant milestone in our understanding of these elusive particles. The LZ experiment at the Sanford Underground Research Facility captured signals from Brian 8 solar neutrinos, providing valuable data on solar processes and setting new limits for dark matter research. This breakthrough highlights the potential of neutrino studies in unraveling the mysteries of both dark matter and stellar dynamics.Complexity of Martian VolcanoesNew findings published in Geology reveal that young Martian volcanoes are far more complex than previously thought. Researchers have discovered that these volcanoes were shaped by long-lasting and evolving magma systems rather than single eruptions. By analyzing surface features and mineral compositions from orbit, scientists have reconstructed the intricate eruptive history of these volcanic systems, shedding light on the Red Planet's geological past.www.spacetimewithstuartgary.com✍️ Episode ReferencesNature Communications, GeologyBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spacetime-with-stuart-gary--2458531/support.(00:00:00) New study reveals Earth's core may contain vast amounts of hydrogen(00:08:30) Breakthrough in solar neutrino detection from the Sun's core(00:16:45) Insights into the complex eruptive history of Martian volcanoes(00:25:00) Science report: The link between caffeine consumption and reduced dementia risk(00:32:15) Study on the frequency of passionate love experiences in humans

Bill Powers interviews Lara Exploration President and CEO Simon Ingram, highlighting Ingram's prior success leading Reservoir Minerals from $0.65 to $9.40 per share and creating roughly US$500 million in shareholder value at the time of the buyout by Nevsun Resources. Ingram recounts Reservoir's Serbia discovery—described as the world's 13th largest copper discovery since 1990—and notes the resulting mine now generates about 2% of Serbia's GDP. Lara Exploration is applying the same model and team while transitioning from prospect generator to developer through its 100%-owned flagship Planalto copper-gold project in Brazil. The 2025 PEA outlines an open-pit project producing about 36,000 tonnes of copper per year and processing about 8 million tonnes of ore, with estimated capex around $550 million. Using a $13,000/ton copper price, Ingram says the project value is about $1.2 billion at today's spot prices. The discussion covers Lara's valuation gap versus its market cap (~US$100–110 million), plans to de-risk via infill drilling and advancing to pre-feasibility, and exploration upside. Ingram emphasizes Brazil's infrastructure and permitting advantages in its operating region, including nearby major mines, access to low-cost power lines crossing the project, proximity to highways, a skilled mining workforce, and a government royalty structure where a significant portion returns to local municipalities. Powers and Ingram also discuss capital efficiency and shareholder alignment: ~50 million shares outstanding (about 53 million fully diluted), no warrants, ~2.7 million incentive options, management owning ~20%, and G&A under about C$1 million. 00:00 From 65¢ to $9.40: Reservoir Minerals' Serbian success story 01:29 Prospect Generator 101: Partnering to reduce exploration risk 03:32 Lara Exploration's flagship Planalto project Brazil: PEA, scale, and copper price leverage 06:00 De-risking plan: Pre-feasibility, infill drilling, and high-grade upside 06:41 Return on capital & timing the copper cycle (why now matters) 08:18 Jurisdiction & infrastructure: Why this Brazil project can get built 09:05 Portfolio, royalties, and capital discipline (50M shares, no rollbacks) 12:55 Team edge: Technical background, copper scarcity, and demand drivers 14:40 How the project stacks up: peers, capex, metallurgy, and simple processing 25:29 PEA rigor: Cost levers, power pricing, and engineering due diligence 28:24 Near-term catalysts & funding options: New license drilling and next steps 31:55 Wrap-up, tickers, and final podcast disclaimer https://laraexploration.com/ TSXV:LRA -- OTC:LRAXF Sponsor Lara Exploration pays MSE a United States dollar seven thousand per month coverage fee. Pymatuning State Park is big in every sense of the word. It is the largest state park in Pennsylvania. Its Pymatuning Reservoir is the largest lake in Pennsylvania. And it's one of the most visited state parks with more than three and a half million visitors a year. But just because it has these big qualities does not mean you'll be unable to find your own peaceful spot at Pymatuning. For every space taken up by a family BBQing, there are nooks and crannies that allow you to explore the park that straddles the Ohio and Pennsylvania state lines. And while there are plenty of great ways to discover the park on land, like by hiking or biking or even playing disc golf, this park needs to be explored by the water. The park's crowning jewel is it's 17,088-acre reservoir.  The Reservoir plays the perfect host for sailboats, motorboats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. The park has three marinas and three concession areas where you can rent a boat for the day. There're also numerous boat launches located in both Ohio and Pennsylvania to get you on to the water safely. While in the water, you have the opportunity to explore the stunning beauty that this park has to offer. You can cast out lines and fish all day or simply paddle between the numerous islands. I can just imagine waking up early, and getting my kayak on the water. Silently paddling between islands as I take in the sounds of the birds and swaying trees around me. A perfect peaceful paddle. And you may be thinking at this point, “Christian, why haven't you talked about the most well-known feature of Pymatuning State Park? Where the ducks walk on the backs of fish.” Don't worry, we're getting there. On this episode, I speak with Jared McGary. YOUR RESERVOIR OF INVINCIBILITY: THE PATH TO TRUE INNER POWER, PART TWO

Love University

What if your greatest breakthroughs aren't found in moments of ease—but in the middle of chaos, confusion, and the challenges you're facing right now? On this week's episode of Love University, we return to the powerful concept of your Reservoir of Invincibility—the deep well of strength, peace, and purpose that lives inside you, even when you don't feel it. In Part 2, we explore how to access that inner power when life doesn't cooperate—when you've been knocked down, disappointed, or tempted to give up. The truth is: you don't need to escape hard times to grow stronger. You need to move through them with awareness and intention. That's how your Invincible Mind, the You that cannot be defeated, is forged. Here are three powerful ways to activate that inner reservoir, even in your lowest moments: Use failure as resistance training for the soul Failure hurts—but it's also feedback. When approached with courage, failure shows you what needs to change, what you truly care about, and what kind of strength you're capable of building. It's not the defeat that breaks you—it's the belief that failure defines you. Instead of shrinking, start seeing each setback as emotional resistance training. Like a gym for your mind, failure forces you to engage new muscles: humility, problem-solving, determination. And just like in physical training, the more intentional reps you take, the stronger you become. You stop fearing the fall—because you know how to get back up, smarter, clearer, and more grounded than ever before. Transform “Poor Me” into “Blessed I” The self-pity voice says: “I've suffered too much. I've missed my chance.” But the Invincible Mind asks: “What's still good? What's still working?” When you focus on gratitude—real, lived appreciation for your good—you don't deny your pain; you reframe it. You begin to see your life not as a series of losses, but as a field of lessons. And when you shift your energy from self-focus to outward service—by helping someone lonelier, struggling, or in need—you experience a powerful exchange. You stop feeling like a victim of life and start living as a contributor to it. That mindset alone can restore your energy, deepen your relationships, and reconnect you to your grand objectives. Walk in the light—slowly, steadily, and on purpose To walk in the light is to live with truth and love as your compass. It means you choose peace over drama, clarity over confusion, and presence over perfection. This isn't a one-time declaration. It's a daily discipline. Every time you respond with patience instead of anger, kindness instead of defensiveness, and honesty instead of hiding—you strengthen your light, your emotional and spiritual power. And, unlike the quick emotional highs of distraction or escapism, this kind of light builds slowly and lasts. It's not flashy. It's foundational. With every steady step, you align your inner life with your outer actions—and that's when you begin to feel whole and powerful again. Rejoice. Your reservoir of Invincibility is waiting for you—ready to rise. All you have to do is return to it. Listen to the full episode now to discover how to turn pain into progress, setbacks into strength, and self-doubt into unstoppable inner power. What if your greatest power isn't something you need to chase—but something already within you, quietly waiting to be claimed? This week on Love University, we delve into the concept of your Reservoir of Invincibility—the deep, untapped core of strength inside you. It's the mental and emotional wellspring that holds your most powerful states of being: peace, confidence, resilience, clarity, compassion, and purpose. When life overwhelms you, this internal reservoir is where you go to reset, refocus, and re-emerge stronger than ever before. But to access it, you need to learn how to think, feel, and act from a place of intentional mental mastery. Here are three life-changing ways to unlock your inner power: Build Relentless Confidence—True Inner Knowing Relentless Confidence is the engine of your Reservoir of Invincibility. It's not about inflated ego or blind positivity—it's about an unshakable knowing that you can handle what life brings. It starts with where you put your attention. Do you constantly rehearse your flaws, failures, and fears? Or do you actively remind yourself of your talents, past wins, and inner resources? Relentless Confidence means choosing to believe that more is working for you than against you. When you face challenges, you don't collapse under the weight of fear—you lean into your strength, calmly and clearly. You stop inflating problems and start expanding your perspective. The more you train your mind to focus on what is working, instead of what is not, the more you reclaim authority over your inner world—and the more you realize that you're bigger than whatever obstacles stand in your way.   Become a “How Thinker”—Because Solutions Require Direction, Not Doubt Your inner power reveals itself in the way you respond to setbacks. Most people spiral into “if” thinking: If only I hadn't failed... If I were more disciplined... If I were younger, smarter, luckier, more attractive... But “if” thinking leads to paralysis. It drains your emotional fuel and feeds helplessness. In contrast, “How Thinkers” immediately shift their mental lens to How can I come back stronger? How can I learn from this moment? How can I turn this situation into a moment of transformation? That single shift from if to how changes the emotional chemistry of your mind—rewiring your default response from reaction to strategy. “How Thinkers” don't deny pain; they use it. They turn breakdowns into breakthroughs because they refuse to stay in passive mode. They live in motion, not hesitation. And that motion activates the very strength they thought they had lost. Discard the Mental Junk—So Your Power Has Room to Flow No matter how gifted you are, your inner reservoir can't serve you if it's clogged. That clutter—old regrets, guilt, resentment, fear—acts like emotional debris that blocks your access to clarity and peace. The good news? You don't need to fix everything overnight. You just need to start making trades. Exchange peace over anger. Discipline for impulse. Truth for denial. Focus for scattered anxiety. When you do this, you're not giving up anything of value—you're letting go of the thoughts and habits that have kept you small. You begin to clear space for your true identity to rise—a grounded, sustainable state of being. Every time you release a self-defeating thought, you expand the reach of your Invincible Mind. Every time you choose a higher emotional state, you draw deeper from the reservoir of love, success, and happiness that's been waiting for you all along.   Listen to the full episode now on Love University and learn how to build a mind that doesn't collapse under pressure, but expands in power and joy.

In this chilling Bigfoot Society episode, a Pennsylvania witness comes forward with a life-changing encounter deep in the woods near Alden Reservoir, Tomko Road, and Davis Street in the Scranton–Wilkes-Barre area. Frank recounts the unforgettable night he and his friends were camping at a spot they simply called “The Spot.” What began as a normal weekend in the Northeastern Pennsylvania mountains quickly turned terrifying when they experienced strange sounds, trees pulled across trails, and an encounter with something far larger—and far more intelligent—than anything they expected.Frank shares the exact locations tied to his experience, including Witkis Villa, Holly Street, and the surrounding ridgelines and creek areas. He also reveals unsettling local lore about mysterious small creatures said to inhabit the woods, and the disturbing reaction of longtime mountain residents when he accidentally spoke an unfamiliar word linked to these legends. If you're interested in real Sasquatch encounters, Bigfoot sightings in Pennsylvania, Appalachian creature stories, or unexplained wilderness phenomena, this episode dives deep into a firsthand account that still haunts the witness decades later.

36 per cent of people who live in rural areas or on islands in Scotland are considering leaving, blaming a range of things from healthcare and ferries to housing shortages. The majority who plan to stay praise the strong community spirit and quality of life. These are the findings of a new study from Scotland's Rural College. Researchers say rural and island areas of Scotland continue to face population decline and have looked at what happens in other countries - Canada, Sweden and Croatia - to see what might change the situation. Scientists are working on a project to use potato shaws, the green leaves from the top of the seed potato plant, which are currently discarded or ploughed back in. The University of Aberdeen believe they could be put to a more lucrative use: skin creams. All this week, we've been looking at dairy farming. Farmers are currently dealing with falling prices for milk as the world commodity price slumps. There is an exception to that. The prices organic farmers are getting have remained stable and and sales of organic milk products have increased slightly in the last 12 months. We visit a Lincolnshire farm with an uncertain future. Hannah Thorogood has spent 15 years building up an organic farm business with cattle, sheep and hens. She now runs the farm and farm shop with her twin daughters. However, Inkpot Farm, along with thousands of acres around it, is in the middle of a proposed site for a giant reservoir.Presenter: Charlotte Smith Producer: Rebecca Rooney

The October 27 edition of the AgNet News Hour delivered a mix of urgency and innovation, as hosts Nick Papagni and Josh McGill discussed California's expanding HLB citrus quarantine, the latest autonomous robotics technology, and the insights of UC Agriculture & Natural Resources (UC ANR) and The Reservoir founder Danny Bernstein on the state's farming future. The show opened with breaking news that California's HLB (Huanglongbing) quarantine boundaries have expanded significantly. McGill, who witnessed the disease's devastation in Florida, warned that California must learn from that experience before it's too late. “In Florida, they thought they could contain it,” he said. “Within five years, the entire state's citrus acreage was infected.” Papagni and McGill stressed that if California fails to act decisively, its citrus industry — one of the state's most iconic — could face the same fate. Their conversation highlighted the need for early detection, collaboration with Florida experts, and stronger integration between PCAs, UC researchers, and state agencies. “California citrus is world-renowned,” Papagni said. “If we lose it, the ripple effect will hit farms, jobs, and entire communities.” From disease control to digital transformation, the show then shifted gears with a spotlight on Bonsai Robotics, one of the most talked-about exhibitors at the FIRA USA 2025 Ag Automation Show in Woodland. Arif Gupta of Bonsai explained how their retrofit kits can turn any existing tractor into an autonomous vehicle — helping farmers save on labor and fuel while collecting real-time data. “We're helping growers take their current equipment and make it autonomous,” Gupta said. “It's about cutting costs, increasing precision, and building a smarter farm.” The program continued with UC ANR's Gabe Youtsey, who passionately described the university's mission to keep California farming viable amid rising regulation, labor shortages, and global competition. “California agriculture feeds the world,” Youtsey said. “If we lose the ability to produce our own food, we lose part of our national identity.” He also emphasized that farmers remain the best environmental stewards. “They're not poisoning the land — they're protecting it for future generations.” Finally, the show closed with a conversation with Danny Bernstein, founder of The Reservoir, an ag-tech incubator helping startups develop tools to solve real-world problems for growers. Bernstein called his company “the double-A league of ag tech,” connecting early-stage innovators with Central Valley and coastal farmers to help them test, refine, and scale their products. “Agriculture doesn't need innovation for luxury,” he said. “It needs innovation for resilience.” Papagni wrapped up by tying the week's stories together: “From fighting HLB to building the next generation of robotics, it's clear California agriculture is standing at a crossroads — and leading the way into the future.”
