Barker's "Nazi novel" published by William Pierce's Vanguard Press in 1991. Settembrini and Hasran explain his influence on the tabletop roleplaying and fantasy scenes as well as how his fictional world of Tekumel reflects elements of Barker's horrible and seemingly endless fash fic, Serpent's Walk. It’s a legend in the RPG community, M.A.R. Barker’s famous Tekumel is brought to you by the halfling horde’s inimitable wit! Well, half of it anyway… The Empire of the Petal Throne is arguably the first D&D variant world to see publication, and it’s got more detail than you can shake a dice bag at. […]

Mona leads her band of refugees into he dwarven shtettle as Anisette and Sabux enter the cabin of the elusive Grundel Darha. What mysteries and wonders await our three heroes? Find out on this dreamy new verse of Weal or Woe! I, Joe the DM, screwed up. Towards the end of this verse I repeatedly say the word “Tekumel” when I mean to say “Tecanos”. As you may or may not know, Tekumel is the setting for the role-playing game, Empire of the Petal Throne. The game written by Dr. Muhammad Abd-al-Rahman Barker and originally published in 1974. Tekumel was one of the first role-playing games and it’s a rich and vibrant world. If you’re at all interested in the history of Dungeons & Dragons, or role-playing games in general, you should totally check it out. We’ll learn more about Tecanos a little later. My apologies for the mistake. Thank you so much for listening and a super special thank you to all of our amazing Patrons. You’ve allowed us to continue doing this another year and for that we’re sorry! Lol!
