In this episode, Michelle reveals one of the most overlooked factors in women's fitness, health, and transformation journeys—nervous system regulation. If you've been stuck in cycles of overtraining, burnout, or frustrating plateaus, your body might not feel safe enough to evolve. Learn how to calm your system, optimize your results, and finally build the strong, energized body you've been working so hard for.Key Takeaways:A dysregulated nervous system can block fat loss, muscle building & energyYour body needs to feel safe—not stressed—to transformNervous system mastery is the foundation of true, lasting changeSmall daily shifts in breath, movement, and nourishment make a massive impactReady to go deeper?Apply for 1:1 coaching to heal from the inside out, align your body with your ambition, and feel unstoppable—mind, body, and energy.
There's only so much logic you can apply to your problems, at some point you need to work with your biology. The nervous system it an incredible organ built to help you survive and it can over-ride your conscious processing at will. To stop tripping over our barriers and build true resilience, reduce stress & feel more alive we need there is a way. Working with your nervous system instead of against it. On the show we invite Esin Pinarli a licensed therapist and expert in working with our nervous system to give us a masterclass on turning discomfort into growth. Three Takeaways: Your nervous system doesn't want you to succeed—it wants you to survive. Discomfort is a signal, not a stop sign. You grow by expanding your window of tolerance, not by breaking through it. Real personal growth doesn't come from reading another book or “thinking positive.” It comes from your body. From doing the hard thing, just a little bit at a time. We talk about titration (small steps), edge surfing (riding discomfort), and how your brain actually rewires itself when you face fear—gracefully. Turns out, the part of your brain responsible for willpower literally grows when you push yourself. This is about learning to stretch without snapping. To build a stronger relationship with yourself—one uncomfortable moment at a time. Success on paper can hide a mountain of stress, as Andrew (Andy) Johns reveals in this episode how a seemingly perfect startup career left him barely holding it together, and what he learned about reclaiming resilience through nervous system mastery. Why do so many entrepreneurs push themselves to the brink without realizing the cost? Andy, a Silicon Valley veteran, joins Alex Raymond to open up about the burnout that forced him to reevaluate everything and shares the tools that helped him recover. From the power of breathwork as the “remote control to your nervous system” to the impact of routines, sunlight, and even thermogenesis, he explores practical ways to protect your body and mind. How can you create habits that prevent stress from becoming burnout? Andy's insights offer simple yet transformative steps to help entrepreneurs build resilience, thrive under pressure, and take control of their well-being. Quotes “When the body activates those superpowers because part of the nervous system perceives a threat, it floods the body with stress hormones, like adrenaline. These hormones are meant to be temporary, helping us respond to immediate danger before the body returns to a rest-and-digest mode. But the body wasn't designed to sustain that heightened state of activation. Increasingly, research shows a direct link between sustained psychological stress and chronic illness, both mental and physical.” (13:12 | Andrew Johns) “It's not just that we might be eating unhealthy food—we are. And it's not just that we're less physically active than we used to be—we are. It's also that we're living under constant psychological stress.” (14:43 | Andrew Johns) “We need to be wise in understanding the complicated and nuanced nature of the pros and cons of the environment we've crafted for ourselves.” (16:48 | Andrew Johns) “Okay, your career is in tech. You may be asking yourself, well, is this good for me in the long run? Maybe, maybe not. Everyone's different. Certain people have different resilience characteristics. I know some folks where, myself included, are very, very sensitive to the environment around me. And so, I would absorb all of these psychological stressors and the moods of my employees around me. Other people I know, they're not like this, but to the question of like, what do we do about it?” (17:04 | Andrew Johns) “You have the mechanisms built into you to feel calm and clear and in a state of peace. Your body has evolved those mechanisms, and you may just need to experiment to find your way back to those things. You don't need to spend thousands and thousands of dollars to search and discover the tools or the techniques or the experts. It's the inherent wisdom of the vitality of the human body, and that's really all we're encouraging. If you tap into its inherent vitality, your resilience will be remarkable.” (46:03 | Andrew Johns) Links Connect with Andrew Johns: Website: https://cluesdotlife.substack.com/ Connect with Alex Raymond: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/afraymond/ Website: https://amplifyam.com/ HiveCast.fm is a proud sponsor of The Conscious Entrepreneur Podcast. Empowering Coaches Through Emotional Resiliency and Nervous System MasteryCoaches today face a unique challenge in balancing their passion for helping others with the pressures of managing a business and personal life. Emotional resiliency and nervous system regulation are vital in achieving sustainable success as a business coach and in your personal life. Understanding the Importance of Emotional Resiliency in Your Nervous SystemEmotional resiliency is more than just a buzzword; it is the foundation of effective coaching and personal development. Coaches often operate under the assumption that sheer willpower and a positive mindset can overcome any obstacle. However, emotional resiliency involves a deeper connection to oneself, recognizing and managing emotions, and building the capacity to navigate highs and lows gracefully and efficiently. The Journey from Law to CoachingMichelle transitioned from practicing law to becoming a master coach, a journey deeply influenced by her experience with burnout during the pandemic. Her story echoes the experiences of many coaches who find themselves overworked and seeking a more balanced, impactful approach to their careers. Michelle realized that serving others while neglecting her emotional and physical well-being was not sustainable. This pivotal moment led her to explore life coaching and develop a passion for helping moms regulate their nervous systems. The Role of the Nervous System in CoachingThe nervous system is crucial to how individuals experience and respond to stress. Learning to regulate the nervous system can transform personal and professional lives. Coaches and their clients often operate from a place of survival brain—a state where stress and fear dominate decision-making processes. By focusing on regulating the nervous system, individuals can create a sense of safety, leading to more effective communication, better decision-making, and overall well-being.Mirror Neurons and Emotional ConnectionMirror neurons are responsible for the subconscious imitative behavior seen in humans. For example, when a person smiles or nods, those observing are likely to mimic these actions without conscious thought. This phenomenon is particularly significant in coaching and parenting, where the emotional states of coaches and parents are mirrored and internalized by clients and children.About MichelleHey Friend, I'm Michelle. Today, we delve into the role of our nervous system in decision-making, and we explore whether the best decision-making is emotional. This one will perhaps make you think differently about that. That does not mean that we ought to decide impulsively or like a toddler, but it does mean that we should integrate our emotional states into our decision-making. And doing that is a skill that involves knowing how to work with our nervous system. My guest is Jonny Miller, who makes his second appearance on the show. Jonny works with leaders and founders on burnout and how to regulate their nervous systems. He was a successful startup founder himself, but for the last several years has studied and practised nervous system mastery intensely, he has curated the most effective evidence-based practices he's found, and he leads a program called Nervous System Mastery. On this episode, we cover breathwork and how to regulate our nervous system, how to work with our emotions, the body and its role in emotions and decision-making, why Johnny believes that the best decision-making is indeed emotional, making decisions in triggered states and how to avoid that, leadership, and so much more. In this episode of the Red Beard Embodiment Podcast, host Alex Greene sits down with Jonny Miller, a breath worker, coach, educator, and host of the podcast Curious Humans. They dive into a conversation about breathwork, embodiment, and nervous system mastery. Jonny shares insights from his online course, Nervous System Mastery, and discusses the importance of nervous system regulation. Tune in to explore the power of embodiment practices and trauma healing in finding our ground and creating connection in an ever-changing world.
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with Jonny Miller, writer, podcaster, and breathwork facilitator. Jonny wrote some of my favorite recent pieces, including the amazing operating manual for the nervous system and How to Pay Off Your Emotional Debt. Jonny also puts together terrific small wikis like this one on emotional resilience, the ‘spiritual MBA' and Somalist (‘a global directory of somatic practitioners + trauma-aware bodyworkers'). We talked about breathwork and its benefits and risks (including Wim Hof), ‘state over story' and the ability to change the state of your own nervous system, Jonny's own journey, the $55,000 he spent exploring various modalities and experiences to find the most impactful ideas (including super interesting stuff like darkness meditation), emotional debt, repressed anger, and men's work. In the context of a breathwork journey, incomplete reflexes will rise to the surface and they will be felt. The body will move in a certain way, and then there'll be relaxation. It's almost like layers of an onion that keep on unpeeling. The more we become comfortable with feeling the full spectrum of emotions, the more that these deeper pieces start to arise. We tend to focus on the outer journey, the how of success. How to spot opportunities, how to invest, how to build a business. Mastering the inner journey is equally important: both understanding your why and having the tools and practices to master the stress and setbacks along the way. That's one of the lessons of the maze. Remember: great investors are survivors and experts at cultivating resilience. We have what I think of as this Cartesian hangover, almost going back to Descartes, of this mind-body dualism. I think the rational brain, the intellect, the kind of left-hemispheric way of perceiving the world has been very prioritized and almost worshiped in our culture. Controlling your mind, mastering your mind, mindfulness, all of these things have been really, really emphasized. I think what is starting to happen is the pendulum swinging back to, ‘oh no, there is no actual distinction between the brain and the nervous system.'

Welcome back to Making Bank. On today's episode, we have Dr. Noah St. John who is known as the father of afformations and the mental health coach to the Stars. He's also the author of 22 books, including his new book, the Seven Figure Expert, the Ultimate Guide to a Life of More Impact, Influence and Financial freedom. Also, guys, we're gonna let you know where you can get your free copy as well. He is famous for helping people make more in just 12 weeks than they made in the last 12 months, while also winning their lives back. (2:50) The 7- Figure Expert The first million can be really hard, but after that it gets a lot easier. That's what the seven Figure Expert is all about. Dialing in these systems that are the outer game systems, so that then you can put them together with the inner game systems. Once you have the inner game and outer game firing on all cylinders you are unstoppable. (7:29) 7-Figure Formula The five stage seven figure expert formula which is five phases and they are your beliefs, habits, offers, funnels and traffic. So after spending all that money all that time and lots of false starts, lots of detours you'll realize it really boils down to these five things. (10:32) Offers And Leverage The three main topics of human pain; health, wealth, and relationships. These are the areas that humans have problems in. Everyone wants good health, more money and a good relationship. So the point is that, when clients come to you, you look at where they already are, what their passion is, and what they're already great at, and then you can really create offers that align with who they are. (16:21) Hockey Stick Growth The myth is if I work harder, then I'll make more money. This is slightly true. You don't need to work yourself off to death. You just need to work smarter. Think about a hockey stick. You're going along the stick and you're working really hard and then the magic happens and then it goes right through the roof. That's called hockey stick growth. (18:15) Traffic There's no such thing as free traffic anymore. Paid Ads are the last things you should go to. Podcasts on the other hand are the best way for you to reach your customers because it doesn't feel like an ad and people are likely to listen as opposed to a skippable ad on any social media platforms. (24:11) Done For You The done for you, the done with you, and the do it yourself programs and the only problem with ‘done for you', is you cannot implement it with personal growth. You cannot expect someone to do something for you so that your personal growth can grow. This is something you have to partake on your own otherwise you will never grow in such areas. (26:56) Systems You have to have systems that work for anybody. Whether you want to add six or seven or even eight figures, there's always systems that you can do, but make sure you find the right coach, the right mentors that can really help you install the systems that work hard so you don't have to. Professor P’s Podcast - Entrepreneurship - Empowerment - Energetics
Welcome everyone to the 24th episode of Professor P's Podcast. I am bringing you another dose of Elixir, the energic power. The topic for this show is SUCCESS is not a SECRECT it is a SYSTEM. #mastery You see, my dear ones, there is no secret to success. But there is a system, and each person has their own system that is coded to them, for them. Take a big deep breath with me now. Come on…. BIG DEEP BREATH. Release and sit in this truth: You were born into this lifetime for a purpose. You have a calling on your life and you will fulfill it if you faint not. It is not going to be easy. And as the saying goes, nothing worth having is easy. It will take work and hard work at that. But then there will come a time when you will have a season of ease. And from this place you will awaken even more to the truth that all things work to the good. That indeed you have been chosen. That your harvest has at last come in. We climb to the mountaintop not because that is where we are going. Oh no! We climb so we can see the promised land. Then we go take possession of it. This is the journey you are on. Let us start by defining the word “system.” The dictionary has two definitions for system: “a set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or inter-connecting network.” 2.“a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done; an organized framework or method.” You are going to be creating your structure, your method of how you do things. You are going to do this by trial and error. Betta to be better is what I say. You are also going to do this by learning all you can. Knowledge is power. You are to be a researcher and always be thinking critically. Open your mind, then open it some more. Remember, the ultra-limits of your life is where you find the truest you yet. Go there and go there often. You will need to be anchored to yourself and know what works for you and what doesn't. You may not be a morning person. If that's the case, don't buy into this notion that “successful people are early birds.” This is not true. The early bird doesn't always get the worm. I am a night owl, and I can promise you this much: I caught my worm. I might have even caught two or three of them. Then I went to bed. And if I greet the rising sun, dancing in its golden rays of yellow and orange, it's normally while I'm sitting on the beach. Or in the middle of a Sedona vortex. Or somewhere at the edge of the ultra-limits. It's an experience that turns into a memory. And it's a place of rest—or better yet, awakening. Not a place of work. This is indeed part of my system. Rest and awakening are instrumental in the journey of success. So, understand your energy and mange it well. Discovery of self is the key. I understand my energy level and how I work best. I respect myself enough to stop trying to fit into a mold that doesn't fit me. I am one of a kind, and so are you! This is what is so beautiful about being human. No two of us are the same, not even identical twins. “I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.” —Leonardo da Vinci, Renaissance genius The quote above is right on the money. I want you to smile in the face of trouble. The distress will only make you stronger. Your bravery will be rewarded. And I want you to build a set of principles to live by. To build from. They are a part of your system. They will be the reason for your success. Remember to connect with me on social media. My handles are below.
